I'm glad Yakuza Zero attempted to give a reason why Majima couldn't help Sasai and Yasuko, but he was only in Sotenbori for 3 years out of that 25...

gaminggoddess85 I think Majima stayed in Sotenbori for more than three years (at least 7 years AFAIK), bcs in Yakuza 5 there was an old photo of Majima, Katsuya and young Mirei Park, taken twenty years before the events of the game. He then moved back to Tokyo sometime between 1992 and 1995.

@@TwentyNinerR Well it wouldn't have been his choice anyway. His boss would have decided where he worked. Majima still had contacts and businesses that made a lot of money in Sotenbori. Shimano would have been an idiot to let that cash cow go until he got things settled.

@@MaskOfLimbo he was tortured for a year. I really wonder what happened between 1986-1988, because the popularity of The Grand increased when Majima was manager, but that only happened for a few months. So either he was with Sagawa or in some cell held by Shimano.

It has improved over the yakuza series, becoming a more dangerous trick, but wastes all his stamina lol.

"you were here, living the easy life" Majima: "So, kioudai, have i told you about the time Captain Shimano used me on a scheme for the lot where Millennium Tower is located? It ended up with me having to kill hundreds of Dojima family members and almost kill Dojima too."

TheSpawnfan no no I mean gameplay wise they are DEFINITELY dead but Majima surprisingly has canonically never killed anyone including 0 He killed someone in Yakuza 1 but that was changed in Kiwami so the guy just gets knocked out.

@@HatKidPeck ugh, i hate this, the worst twist has to be Saejima and the rubber bullets though, worse than Majima's words not matching his actions in 0, he was ready to kill those people and a lot of them should be dead, then there is Sera lecturing him about killing on behalf of someone being wrong, excuse me? The head of the family of professional hitmen of the Tojo clan just said that? Don't get me wrong, 0 is awesome, but this kills the suspension of disbelief

This was the point Majima went from just another boss to a character I have a lot of respect for. One of the most memorable fights in the series for me.

Given Majima's history of poverty with Saejima, it makes so much sense that he's lean and shredded.

I guess unlike kiryu who was secretly protected by sera while in jail saejima maybe fights with other inmates times to times so he didn't go soft unlike kiryu in kiwami

who said he was under Sera's protection in prison? Every asshole in the game made it clear that they didn't care about Sera if anyone killed Dojima. He did get attacked in prison after all

well there were substory in kiwami where you met again with the inmate who once attacked kiryu , he told kiryu he was hired by nishikiyo consortium which once under sera order so kiryu search for the leader at kage place, there kiryu met the leader who confirmed that kiryu was attacked by chairman sera order in order to allegedly shows that kiryu life is tojo clan matters and no others may try to kill kiryu in prison. Kiryu even admits to the leader of consortium that his time in prison aside from that one assasination attemp was uneventful

In yakuza 5, majima said he was holding back on saejima, thats why when you beat him in 5, Majima says that he fights like a new man now. And the cutscence after the fight is shows basically a tie between them.

Also keep in mind that the Tojo Clan essentially disavowed Saejima officially. Sasai took the blame, nearly got killed by the Ueno Seiwa (and became non-responsive in the process), and the Tojo ended up forging a truce with the Ueno Seiwa. I'm pretty sure Saejima was fair game in prison.

It’s been a minute since I played Yakuza 4 & 5, but isn’t Saejima’s grapple almost inescapable? You can twist a boss into a pretzel stick if you know how to play him.

Against regular enemies, sure. However, most bosses will counter immediately if you try grabbing them.

Receive and Bite You is the quintessential Majima theme song. It matches the chaotic and frenetic pace of a Majima fight. The alarm in the song signifying the danger Majima poses. It gets you pumped for a fight. It's perfect for Majima and I want to mod every game with a Majima boss fight to just have Receive and Bite You as his theme.

Alway loved majima spinning top move. Its just so silly.

I am so glad I discovered this through Receive and Bite You being used in the Cosmic Puppet fight in FNaFB CC. Took me FOREVER to find the song.

This fight got me very emotional

Fishing for the clothesline near the end, lol. That move is fucking savage.

Imagine being Saejima Coming back to see your sworn oath brother as an insane lunatic

If you play Yakuza 0 first, that would be impossible. It's why I always say play 1-4, and then 0.

Majima had 25 years since the incident. Yakuza 0 only covers the first three years of that. Being in the hole was only the first year if I remember right.

Kiryu and Saejima are the only ones who defeated Majima, right? That makes sense too, given how 4 and 5 have shown us that Kiryu and Saejima are pretty much equals.

I really never noticed the music being this good, glad it's on KZread. I straight hated Yakuza 4 and wanted to get through as fast as possible, so I really missed this beauty.

As far the release timeline of the games he’s fairly relevant, 0, Kiwami 1 & 2. He wasn’t relevant in 6, and in 5 he was significant to the story I think. In general I think he’s fairly balanced in appearances and usage

In Kiwami he beat Kiryu two times in majima everywhere (first fight and taxi driver). Even if you win at end of the fight Kiryu is completely beat and Majima is fresh as nothing happened. In Kiwami 2 he defeated the Omi elite squad and ended Ibuchi easily. Also in yakuza 5 he said he was holding back because Saejima was not strong enough yet.

Later in Yakuza 5 he fought Saejima again at full power and it was a draw. In Yakuza 7 he and Saejima were probably gonna woop the floor with Ichiban but Daigo stopped them.

Kiryu and Saejima..who is thougher ?

Honestly, I would say Saejima because when he fought Kiryu, he was already injured and worse for wear, but he still was a to hold his ground and was an equal. If he wasn't injured, he probably would have dog walked Kiryu.

@@sarahalzubaidi7794 For the record, Saejima is the only one ON PAR with Kiryu, by ON PAR, I mean exactly the same. Kiryu and Saejima will defeat every single of their opponents, but fighting each other will take them an eternity, I think it comes from Japanese mythology where the Tiger and the Dragon are fated to clash forever.
