@@DrunkGnu All of Ichiban’s opponents are actually doing their moves. Their appearance is the only thing he separates from reality. The only time this changes is most of the Poundmates special attacks and Kiryu having/being an actual dragon.

Once 4 and 5 came, Majima sorta dropped his mad dog act and showed his real self. And it's really sad that he was once again chained again and used as a toy by others. He legitimately became depressed

Not just depressed, it’s pretty much part of his job whether he likes it or not When you’re in organized crime along with a bunch of low-to-high chumps that’s feuding with another bunch, you have to be loyal one way or another when it comes to conflict and politics. Majima is the only one in this game that kept giving me the vibe that he's holding back. I mean, Kiryu always had the rightful reason to go all out but Majima never had any- except for Yakuza 0 where he single-handedly stormed Dojima's HQ before forcefully reined himself back near the end.

Majima held back in 4, and he probably did or did not in this battle. Since they tied, and Saejima tied with Kiryu, this probably means that Majima is equal to Kiryu.

Saejima is close to or equal to Kiryu I believe, due to the legend of the Dragon and the Tiger being eternal rivals... Majima is certainly up there with the two of them as well, all depends on how seriously he takes the fight though.

fave detail is actually the sparks that come off majima’s steel tipped shoes at 1:30. very nice touch 🥰

I like how literally every one of majimas themes throughout the series carry the same opening leitmotif with those opening lyrics/vocalizations

But then Majima's remixes come into play with each one being more chaotic but more depressing once you get into it and how it correlates to Majima becoming more and more sick with modern day Yakuza and politics and the drama behind it. SPOILERS BELOW! In Like a Dragon The Recieve You OST returns with Kiryu's boss fight. It's a more updated version of the original song and it reflects how Kiryu is basically passing the torch with the song constantly repeating "Rolling eyes fall, Ruling dies out" While The Recieve You that's played in Majimas and Saejima's boss fight is more upbeat signifying that both charcters are in a good place in there lives.

Didn't expect Majima to bust out Amon tier moves out of nowhere

The battle ended in a tie and majima was kinda wounded during this fight so i can't help but think Saejima is in a way a lil bit stronger than kiryu bu majima is stronger than saejima. But on the other hand, Kiryu can beat majima but never actually won either againts saejima. So it's kinda like the 3 elements cycle in those rpg games where fire lost to water, water lost to nature, and nature lost to fire kinda thing. In the end... These 3 are still unbeatable aside from each other

I think Majima took this fight more seriously than his fights against Kiryu, he was trying to save Haruka instead of just fighting for the sake of fighting, I think serious Majima could stalemate Kiryu.

Honestly I'd assume more Kiryu>Saejima=Majima>Akiyama>Shinada Kiryu never canonically lost to Majima I don't think and Saejima only beat a Kiryu who's really not interested in fighting and even then it was close, followed by Saejima passing out from over exertion, but I could be wrong, been years since I played 4

Interesting story here. It's brother vs. brother. Saejima vs Majima, just like how Nishikiyama vs. Kiryu was too in the first game. Also speaking of the first game, they remixed the recieve you soundtrack from the first game as well. Interesting references!

There I am enjoying a Yakuza game, everything is going as it usualy dose then sudden'ly Majima busts out his Shadow Clone Jutsu. my only response is full hearted WTF!?.

I feel they badly misused Majima in this game I mean his name is heavily involved in this game’s storyline...but once he showed up, very little thing revealed Majima didnt even say a word about his marriage with Park that became the core of the storyline

he was supposed to be a playable character in this game, but it was cut because of time constrains if i remember correctly

@@nikkialo6030 i don't remember, but it's really appearent when you consider that he is present in the install screen, and he's a major character in the story where his absent for the most part. Edit: ok to months later i noticed that i somehow misremembered Majima being in the install screen, sorry Shinada i forgot about you

Do they fight this much in the real Yakuza ?

apparently no. Real yakuza fights are short and brutal, usually ends up with one or more dead bodies. And it's more to guns and melee weapons instead of manly exchange of fists and kicks like in this game.

Wait so Saejima is as strong as Kiryu in a fight, and Kiryu has beaten Maijma on numerous times throughout the series and now Saejima is as strong as Majima? I'm confused.

+Omgitsgodzilla I'm kinda confused as well, Majima claimed he was holding back when he fought Saejima in 4. So I dunno..

+devilleon7 moreover,Saejima can barely stand after this battle... There is only one explanation....Majima wasn't' giving all he's got with Kiryu,but gave a tough fight to Saejima cause he didn't't want Haruka to die. Or it's just a mistake of developers...

Sega must have planned on making Majima stronger a long time ago. I guess that also explains how he beat Awano then Lao Gui in 0. Without breathing hard

+Rodney Christopher what SEGA has to do with Majima? In Y4 Majima said that he was freaking strong in his 20s and also he was very angry after Makoto was shot,so it's all explained. Majima is strong as fuck,probably he in top after Kiryu/Saejima and maybe Mine (in my opinion he is the strongest boss in the series)

+Kamran Dadashov my mistake what I meant was they planned on making Majima stronger or getting serious at some point. Like when Saejima said that Majima was stronger when he was younger. Then they spiced things up by making Majima show his true strength like you said. Also Zero shows evidence of that since he took on a monster like Awano then Lao Gui.

...You guys do know that Majimas not creating actuall clones right? This is the games way of conveying afterimages that speedster characters typically have.

@Andrew Nah, clones is wayy too farfetched, that's where I draw the line. Alternate dimensions do make sense tho.

Is it just me or does saejima seem small in 5? Like, he barely seems any bigger than kiryu which doesnt make any sense

He pretty much was. It’s been a while since he was done any weightlifting plus exercise

I wish that this was made after 0 because only Slugger is strong enough to stand a chance against Saejima.
