I feel he is just not a better all around fighter than Volk.. Max.. or Ortega - he is a fantastic striker.. but he is just not the best fighter in the division.. sorry. Ehhh Ilia has been caught with head kicks a few different times, I’d say Yair is a pretty intriguing matchup for ilia. Curious if ilia would go back to his grappling or if he’d try to stand with him. Imo the best style to beat a a guy like Ilia is someone who could keep him at distance and counter him when he closes distance. Not sure if Yair is the guy to do it, but on paper it’s definitely possible.
