@@JayN4GO yes indeed very nice, excellent audio ... meanwhile I bought the FC-40 tuner from Yaesu and stretched a wire about 23 meters, I have a good antenna 😉

You’re going to love the rig. Actually the Heil 781 sounds great on these rigs. I haven’t picked one up yet due to being in a Cw bubble.

More Parametric equaliser confusion!! You need to be aware that what Yaesu calls "BWTH" is really Q (NOT Octave bandwidth). This is a serious error in all their documentation. The Q of a filter affects its bandwidth but Q and Bandwidth are NOT the same. Setting a higher value of Q will produce a NARROWER bandwidth effect, a lower value a WIDER bandwidth effect. If you set any "BWTH" (Should be labelled Q) to "0" (as you have done), that control will merely act as a gain control as that pole will have an infinitely wide bandwidth. Bandwidth (BW) to -3dB points is related to Q and frequency by the simple formula: BW = f/Q

@@JayN4GO Hi Jay, so...I'm waiting for it !! :) I've switched from an Ic7300 used at least 5 years with a great satisfaction but receiver of FTdx10 is one step beyond. I've compared also with an IC775 dsp and FT 5K and it's a great back-up radio maybe could be the main in some cases. Most of the time I use it on CW and it's a keeper !! 73' best regards. Giorgio

Thanks Jay ..will try this out on my ftdx10.. I was getting bad reports on how I had it setup I'm using a Yaesu m70 desk mic hope the 80 meter guys like the setup you have was at the point of putting it back in the Box. fingers crossed thanks KB5VDO

Most guys on 80m run external rack gear. You can menu mod the 10 to 4K bandwidth and use a tube preamp into an apex 204 with big bottom. The 781 mic actually sounds good on this rig with some menu eq settings. If you can use a websdr to listen to yourself it really helps a lot.

Sir, at 2.25 time stamp on your Clip, I don't have a Deep voice, but I would love to sound Deep like BBC, am I correct in trying 100_2900 setting? Maybe not so good for Dx, but I would like to go Base'y I take it I need to go Down like towards 100--2900 not upwards.

Yeah or 50-2900. You’ll get most of your bottom end from 50-150hz. You might like to buy an apex 204 with big bottom. There’s also the 0-4000 menu option for the dx10 😂

i followed this vid before and did a recording on the radio and the audio out sounded good...........did a reset forgot to save the setings to the card. watched the vid again applied the same settings and now when i record the audio from the radio i got nothing.....i can only imagine i did something wrong...why could i just left it ALONE!!!! please help

Are you recording from the headset Jack in the front ? May need to check the monitor button and level

Nice I need to do a follow up video as I’ve changed some eq settings. Like you, I lowered my Proc and boosted other frequency’s. Hope you’re enjoying your dx10
