Yaesu FR 101S vintage shortwave ham receiver all mode
Ғылым және технология
This is the vintage Yaesu FT-101S shortwave SSB/AM/CW receiver plus optional FM capability. This was sold during the early to mid Seventies, often with the accompanying FL-101 transmitter. It is an excellent design that still can compete well with today's radios, mostly because it pairs good sensitivity to excellent selectivity and large signal handling capabilities, the latter due to the use of a high-Q manually tunable preselector circuit in the front-end. It exhibits excellent sensitivity all the way into the 10 meter band due to the use of high gain dual-gate MOSFETs in the RF front-end. To summarize: An job well done from Yaesu!

Nice receiver. Thanks for posting. I might be wrong, but I remember the same radio with a green (or blue?) digital display. Anyway, very good radio.

Hello! that was a different one, Cheers.
I have the 101-S. It was my dads. I'mstill trying to figure out the output in the back where you're supposed to 'short it out' to get the audio. To my recollection, it has 13 crystals installed.
Serial number is August 1977
That receive is crisp ! What is your antenna please?

It is a home made vertical, tuned with a Collins 180S-1 tuner. Cheers.
How much for one these in 2021?
My Good Man, please turn the radio volume DOWN when you talk. Competing with the radio is unnecessary.
