thats right there mate, i agree..Sadly its just the way it is now. When i was growing up Mtv was the shit cause it'd play so much underground stuff as well as the mainstream stuff but at least you could navigate yourself towards decent record labels. Now its on the internet its harder to find stuff so praise be KEXP indeed and others like it.
So, you had a taste of Khruangbin, then you were in a desperate search for that sweet pentatonic scale guitar playing, fortunately KEXP came to your rescue. Thank you YĪN YĪN, and thank you KEXP. I guess this is what addiction feels like.

@Jesus Christ I see what you mean, but I dig it - to me it sounds like recent instrumental bands who aspire to make "library" or soundtrack music, which is consciously generic and cheesy. A bit like Stereophonic Space Sound Unlimited or Calibro 35, and I'm fine with that.

Maybe not bass, but the drummer who used to be part of Covet (Forest) always had a massive smile. KT from Elephant Gym doesn't smile so much as she's so concentrated, but in their kexp video she gets so into it during a breakdown she intentionally throws off her monitor headphones so she can headbang while playing. It's an amazing moment.
