Feel happy to be alive with such wonderful musician. DON'T miss his live when he is playing near you.
Yussef on drums, Malik on the sax, Elijah on the keys, Rocco on the bass and Alexander on the percussion; thats a huge monster alignment 🙏🏼

@@mismo358 For me, it’s got to be his work with Paul Young back in the 80’s. His playing on Paul’s cover of Anne Peeble’s “I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down” is so so good. It could also be why D’Angelo wanted him for that session.
That guy on keys is really inspiring. Dope band!

Correct. The reality is there is no way to identify the true expression of a heart or hearts through music or sound, it's just that. True expression of heart and love. It is Yussef Dayes type of music.

No more questions about this! You said it right bro!! The other day a friend told me "they make no more good music nowadays" y replied: you mean massive industry... but there's great music happening nowadays! Just think Yussef's album was released in 2023❤ love to people reading this. You have a great taste of music guys!🎉
Why does KEXP (like BBC Six Music ) work on so many different multiple levels? Because there is such a wide variety of talented musicians that they introduce us humble listeners to. So many artists we would never have discovered on most mainstream musical channels. Here is another case in point: a talented group of musicians performing truly beautiful and chilled sounds. Love it...

I listen to KRCL out of Salt Lake City. It’s non-commercial radio with a lot of fantastic people behind it. Same thing for lots of independent radio stations. !! Support your local independent radio station :-)
Yo, put these tracks live as is on Spotify. These mixes are so fucking 🔥
I've been drumming professionally most of my life (I'm 63) and Yussef Dayes inspires me like no other recent drummer. I love how he's tuned his side toms here. And that beat on the second track is mind-blowing. His groove and technique are just amazing. This is lovely, groovy, funky music. Music at its best, really. Enjoy. Thank you KEXP, especially your incredible engineers.

I know nothing about drums, let alone music - but that drummer, Yussef, seems to become more and more "clean" - by the minute! (Yes, I am aware of him - he's played with many people, including Tom Misch.) Genius band members - ALL!!

They are all fantastic musicians but man Rocco is going for new heights. Drums and bass are complement each other perfectly, gj on the sound engineering!
godDAMN elijahs synth on turquoise galaxy!! such a banger
Listen to this all hours of the day. Brings serenity to my soul
Oh my goodness, this is so lush and gorgeous - and incidentally, SO much better than the last thing that came on my KZread auto-feed - I couldn't reach the remote because I had a lit acetylene torch in my hand, welding - (Kygo, Live from Trolls tongue; ack! So pedestrian.) I'm so grateful for KEXP. They totally save the day and music in one fell swoop!
Not a single "Dayes" goes past where im not listening to one of their tracks.. They're in all my playlist's. This way my ear drums are guaranteed a blessing where ever i am . Nothing but love.

I have listened through this five times now, each time focusing on a different performer and man, let me tell you this is such an incredible lineup. Each of these musicians brings so much talent and nuance to this performance. It really is about as good as music gets.
Yussef and rocco and the stuff gets hot and juicy, so good. One of the funkiest rythem sections on earth. Amazing appetizer, for more!!!🎉❤😊🎉❤😊🎉❤
Can't beleive i once was lucky to witness these guys play live with also Veena on the sax , the craziest thing was the price of the ticket (it was about 3$)

I heard him years ago and knew he would do big things
that section around 11:45 for sure is so beautiful only us as musicians know that tuning our instruments can be an artform.. love what he's doing with those heads and integrating them into the drumset ---- it's like that drumline drum as timbales for the drum set.. genius
Saw these boys at the Royal albert hall and it was fantastic
Been in and out on jazz for 50 years. Best I’ve heard in many many years. London scene on it.
Me lo encontré cruzando la calle aquí en CDMX antes de su presentación, fue una experiencia maravillosa escucharlos en vivo. VAN CON TODO YUSSEF❤
This is just Gorgeous!!!
the textures elijah creates are always so nice. drop the prologue preset pack!
Soo much talent its mind boggling! These guys should be a hit everywhere...soo glad I found this new gem of a band!
Astonishing musicianship 🔥 Humble and all round wholesome vibes in that room 👏🏽

jungle smells might be going a bit over the top, but I do agree this is a weird reduction of jazz. I love everything Yussef Dayes and his gang makes, but in regards to true forward thinking jazz in the harmonic sense this is probably not it, I would look into Brad Meldhau's Mehliana for that.
I'm three minutes in, and, as a fellow UK resident, Yussef, smash the groove kid* I see you, Robert Glasper and Aaron Frazier, and one undecided, together, as one solid unit*
Every recording is dynamic/unique and live shows are even better!
10/10 thanks for bringing the Yussef Days EXPERIENCE it truly is a pleasure KEXP
Been with him since united vibrations. Wicked group!

Elijah Fox 🎹 🔥
So nice to see more people enjoying Venna, Elijah and Yussef ✨

Amazing. It never ceases to make me smile that great music is still bursting out of England 🙂.
Not sure how this group could possibly keep getting even tighter but every new thing they release gives me more chills than the one before... truly breathtakingly beautiful! Seeing them live one day is at the top of my bucket list, I wish they came closer to me in Buffalo,NY on their tour. 🙏 Keep speading that love and magic🙏

@@anthonyfox477 I looked up the bass he is using, it's an active bass but i'm not sure that's the only reason the sound is that good. The bass he is using is a Yamaha BB1100S, for amp I have no idea. Edit: I did some digging, he us using a Aguilar amp+cab, unsure which model/-s, but i think the subby part comes from the active pickups in the bass. Edit2: I believe he is using a Aguilar DB751 Amp+Aguilar DB851 Bass Cab.

really want to comment, but can't find words that possibly could fit this... love, human, universal, amazing music. The London scene is really extra ordiairy. Thank you KEXP and Yussef Dayes!
As the Car has to have one driver at a time; Yussef Dayes may be "the leader or the Artist" of this, but all those brothers shine and easily could be "the leader or the Artist" of this band, i mean it could be Elijah Fox on Keys or Malik Venner on Sax or Alexander Bourt Windsor on Percussion or Rocco Palladino on the Bass, all are great.
Magistral, gente magnífica.
This will be watched over and over again by many throughout the years to come. Incredible ❤

Elijah fox is one of the best rn. He produce for a lot of the famous artists rn but he will put out beautiful sonic gifts just piano music in Wyoming. London is teaching in all music levels rn from Jacob Collier. Oscar Jerome. Jordan Rakei. To Lianne La Havas.
Yussef and band conquering the world with their top notch vibes!! Got the Cd and double vinyl!
My man on keys is doing work 💪
Got into the groove, couldn't come back! Awesomeness of this performance is on the next level of "jazzy" side of music. There is a modern groove, classic vibe and there is no need in genres definition or cliché comparison to enjoy it. I can hear pure love for music and sound 🤩
Saw them twice in Miami, what a time to be alive with this BEASTS giving us such a powerfull music.
Hell ya!! ..Gotta get Alpha Mist stateside for a tour.. Much Love 🙏💓

Just seen Yussef live last night in Cincinnati Ohio…baddest cat out there…his band is amazing too..a must see!!
Incredible artist! Saw him twice in Detroit.
Jazz-Fusion of nowadays is the only genre that is at the level of the belle epoque of modern music (60's 70's and 80's). It would be great that also other genres like disco-funk rock pop soul would regain the quality they had .
I need to see them play live at least once
Wonderful music! Thank you!
