Thanks for the tips. I changed mine back to stock today. I used an impact wrench since I was working solo. Hope you are still enjoying your XT!

K&D made that look 2 EZ!!! The Yamahanian whom torqued my factory 15t used a battle tank torgue wrench on mine. I nearly blew a brain gasket 'trying' to get mine off. Ended up at the shop in the end as I was starting to strip the 30mm nut. Great tutorial as always 👍👍

My sprocket cover had 1 bolt hand loose. I added med strength locktite. Since you have the tach do you know the rpm difference? I saw you were at 6500rpm at 100km/hr on the 16T?

Great demo. Considering this mod on my bike. Have you had any experience trail riding/hill climbing since the conversion?

It’s not a huge difference, for trail riding I personally think it’s better because I can get in a gear that works nicely for the speed I drive. Hill climbing is not an issue really as far as power goes, it’s when you get to the top and reduce throttle when u don’t know what’s on the other side…. An experienced rider will have no trouble. The gear is not expensive so worth a try in my opinion.

How did it Effect first& second gear? Does it still have Enough low and grunt to go off road and climb hills? Thank you for posting. I'm thinking about changing mine.

I also want to change the asterisk to the XT 250 . But I want to put on 14 teeth . Basically , I ride this motorcycle in the taiga , where all - terrain vehicles cannot pass , there are only bears walking there and I 'm on a motorcycle . 🦉 And that 's why traction is more important than speed . But I can 't find an asterisk with 14 teeth yet . I'll probably find it before spring. In the spring I will go for birch sap .

So how fast do you have to go on the dash speedometer to actually do 100kmph on the gps?

Use to be 110, changed front sprocket, about 105 now.

@kd_enterprise3404 I have one on a FedEx truck. I'm curious if the results are similar. It will depend on the accuracy of the dash speedo. I think the last time I ran it with a gps I had to run 103 to hit 90 on the gps. Disappointing for sure.

@@RobMillerATV that sounds about right, it progressively goes to a higher percent with increased speed.. 10% at 100 km per hour is what I was getting but I’m sure it was more like 11 or 12 so 13 would be in the realm… it’s all liability reasons I believe. I bet with the new sprocket and if I put a new tire on I’d be very close to actual speed.. I’m about 5% out now at 100.

@kd_enterprise3404 ya I noticed that. 90 was 80 and the faster I went the farther apart the speeds were. I'm excited about the new sprocket. If you're not doing 100 around here ya get run down lol.
