XSR900 ( Why I'm Getting Rid of This Motorcycle! )
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Sad times but I'm going to be saying goodbye to the Yamaha XSR900. This bike has been such a blast and I'm going to miss it loads! Hoping it makes someone else very happy.

Not too surprised considering your recent vid's are mostly track. The XSR is really designed for fun on the street. Good luck with your new track bike!
You're gonna regret getting rid of the xsr900, you didn't buy it for track days and it's not built to run track even though it's possible. You got it because it's a blast to ride for an every day bike. If you're going to put that much time on the track then you buy a low milage litter bike or better yet a 600cc and set it up for track. Don't trade it in you'll never get what you want for it.

"I have too many bikes" said by NO BIKER EVER. But economics are real too. I am thinking of getting the XSR700 as my second bike. I am currently using a 2 stroke Yamaha TDR 125 2004 smoker. And will keep driving for a year on it and derestrict it and have bit more learning curve. Then a XSR700 just to get used to more torquey bikes first.... I love the look of the Abarth 900 version of this but the position of the handlebars would hurt my upper body. But I would start my sportbike on GSXR 750 after all these ones go to stud. I will work hard for a big garage and sllep in a fuckin tent to keep them haha.

@@padraigomadain6681 It always involves money but it totally is easy to have to many bikes ...they all have to be maintained registered insured and none of that is fun really. Wonderful to have a "stable" of machines each for a purpose but redundancy can just be a pain....and with multiple of same type bike I will pretty much gravitate to the favorite while riding the alterates just because they need to be riden and justified .... its like having extra girlfriends. wives ....might sound fun but in practice?

NOT AN OFFROAD TRACK BIKE . LIKE THE NEW ONES WITH TSR AND ALL BUT NEEDS A FEW FIXES.
Look at the rain and hail--oh no! I am excited to see the 2022 XSR900 and the new changes. I believe you will definitely miss that bike there! Thanks for the video...new sub!
Nice channel man, look forward to the progress vids. Subscribed. Good points made.
I like pretty much the identical set up you have here except to add a cafe fairing. Also does anyone sell triples for these forks to adjust the rake?
I didn't even know there was a fuse box there. I've opened the fuse box on the right side of the bike by the right suspension fork to replace a blown fuse recently. the location you pulled the fuse from initially to put back in to restore ABS, what is that slot for?
@SimonTheSquid
3 жыл бұрын
It's a nice little extra slot to hold spare fuses. Makes it very convenient for popping in the abs fuse when you don't need it :)
Do you use your bike for commute? If so, may be a good idea to hold onto the XSR and pick up a second bike. Otherwise daily riding a Supersport is going to throw you into instant regret. But either way, appreciated THE XSR vids. Good luck in the future

Cheers Jonathan! I sadly don't have room for more than one bike at the moment. Been working from home during the pandemic so haven't been doing much commuting lately. The only thing nice about commuting on a super sport is how easy it is to filter :D otherwise yes I'll def miss the comfort for those types of rides.
what does the strap do that you connect to your jacket? Is it some kind of kill switch?

Hi simon ..sad news but i know what you mean about the riding position and ergonomics I own an xsr900 my self they bike is very fast but you dont feel the confidence pushing it to the max , just get a gixxr 1000 and take it easy until u can control the bike ..suzuki bikes are very reliable and will tolerate mistakes 👍🏽

Thanks Isa! One day when I have more space two bikes one naked and one superbike would be perfect :).
Painful is riding my RD400 without a front fender and ice cold rain. Good video.
They make fuse replacements that allow you to basically tap into and switch any normally fused position in a fuse box....right? Therefore one COULD simply employ such along with a handlebar switch to very simply wind up with swirchable abs...no more taking the seat off Just saying not so much for you who likely already sold this bike but for others watching the video
Fair enough, man. 👍
For the new version with Quick Shifter, IMU and Cruise Control maybe?
Nice late spring day in Blighty.
Keep it, buy an old r6 for track.
I wd NOT get rid of it. Keep it in your inventory mate!!
Thats just silly , I’m still pissed at my Vespa lx 50 being such a lousy touring bike.
Stretch it and put a windshield on it. I have a calsci windshield and I love it
How about the Ducati monster 915 or 937 whatever it is I understand with a couple suspension tweaks it’s a naked but will stick to the road and quite fun

Lots of great nakeds out there! But the ducati monster would be much the same as the xsr in terms of body ergos and aerodynamics which is what I'm looking to change up.

Have you ever considered a Triumph Street or Speed Triple RS? Theyre far more sportier naked bikes that performs almost at the level as super sports on tracks, but is still far more usable in everyday use as well.
@SimonTheSquid
2 жыл бұрын
I road the new speed triple. Loved it but it still isn't the same level of sportiness on track that you get from a superbike. I really love my gsxr1000 for track riding. Don't regret the switch at all.
...there's no way you'd jump on a mates bike on a trackday and be as comfortable or as confident...plus the worry of crashing someone else's bike is always going to slow you down, unless you don't give a sh1t.. Having ridden a few bikes on track, it's about how much you enjoy it, not your lap times, unless you're looking to be a pro-racer?
Not sure why anyone would take an XSR900 on the track, still. Horses for courses. I cannot wait to get my XSR back from service. It's been so long.

It's a lot of fun on track! You should def give it a try at least once :). Def not built for it but still an absolute hoot!
Funny enough I have a zx10r and was thinking of getting an XSR900 or speed twin. I've settled on the speed twin as its much better suited for streets with its down low torque. Frankly, Im bored of infline 4's. And you will too once you get a sports bike. They are not worth it at all unless you do track days at least every month or so.
@SimonTheSquid
Жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I'm doing 14+ trackdays a year though so the sportsbikes are a good fit for me. For the road they are definitely not the ideal choice.
Oh my nuts I here you brother
whats the lead/ wire between the seat and tank ???
