From what I can tell, that pen got rid of that tilt issue the Artist 15.6 Pro had! On that pen, tilting your pen would always move the cursor, it wouldn't be where it should be (under the tip of the pen at all times), so I always had to keep the same angle to get it perfect. Thanks for this video!

Greetings Teo, thank you so much for your tech reviews for artists. They've been a great help and I've been enjoying them so much. I have a question if you don't mind... I'm currently using XP-PEN Artist 24 Pro 2k as my main drawing display and monitor. To be honest, as much as I love my current monitor, I'm just not enjoying drawing on it as much due to it non-laminated (hence annoying parallax) and the drive that has been driving me nuts to get them working properly. Seeing your review of the XP-PEN Artist Pro 14 (gen 2), I've been seriously thinking of getting their latest XP-PEN Artist Pro 16 gen 2 (2.5k) for my main drawing display. My question is: have you tried connecting two drawing displays simultaneously (whether they're from the same brand of different...)? If so, did you encountered any problems/issues using them together (especially for drawing...)? Thank you!

  • @teohontech7141

I've not used two different brands of pen displays on the same computer before so I can't say much. Anyway, if you have the intention to draw on both pen displays from different brand, it will be inconvenient because you will have to switch pens whenever you want to switch to a different display to draw.

Teoh, I was wondering, could you see if Asus would send you a Proart Studiobook 16 to test? It has an OLED touchscreen with pen support (comes with the Asus Pen), and also the trackpad has pen support as well. I have not seen any tests whatsoever as to the quality of the trackpad pen support, but it is a very intriguing feature. Honestly, given your relationship with Asus, and the focus on your channels (and how well known you are as an artist and KZreadr), I'm surprised they haven't already sent you their "creator laptop." If you do get one in, beyond testing the pen inputs, can you demonstrate how loud it gets? I've heard it can get loud when under heavy load, but written reviews can't really capture things like pitch, which affect how tolerable a noise is.

It's not out here in Singapore yet but I will try to borrow one when it's out. I'm not a big fan of drawing on laptop displays because the form factor is just not correct. And also some of those glossy displays are really smooth so it's difficult to control the pen. The touchpad will be too small to be practical for drawing. Those are just my initial thoughts just from looking at the design. The ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED I reviewed last year is one of top three ASUS laptops. It's still good this year, and should be less expensive too if you're interested in getting one.

These pen displays are not using OLED. They use IPS LCD. Visual quality should be comparable. For colour calibration, you will have to rely on the company colour calibration unless you have your own hardware colour calibrator. Oh, forgot to mention that Huion 13 2.5K will have much sharper visuals due to the higher resolution. So again, ultimately it depends on how much you want to spend. Higher resolution vs bigger display vs price.

As much as I distaste wacom, Xp Pen and Huion have a long ways to go in terms of reliability with their screen based tablets compared to the cintiq line. I've read so many horror stories of them failing after the warranty expires. Lines in screen, no input, faulty ribbon cable. While they are indeed "feature rich" as wacom, they are "not" made to last. Which is unfortunate. If your willing to buy a Kamvas or Artist, I "strongly" suggest getting a "3-4 year" warranty protection. Thank me later.

the tilt/parallax sucks ass. it's still so bad. you have to calibrate it every time you move your tablet/sitting position (dont have this problem with my huion kamvas 22 plus), even then the parallax is still really bad, it's just uncomfortable and frustrating to draw on. sure, personally i really like the drawing feel on the screen, but with how bad the parallax is?? a big deal breaker. skip this tablet and just get a huion if you can't afford wacom. the parallax on my old kamvas 22 plus is kinda noticeable when i tilt my pen at a really extreme angle, but not as bad as this tablet at half of that extreme angle on huion. AND another big thing, the response rate of this tablet is 90-100ms! while the kamvas 22 plus that came out in 2020 has a 14ms response rate even lower than wacom cintiq (at 25ms), and these two tablet are priced pretty similar (additional note for reference: ipad pro m1 2021 has a 45ms, with almost no parallax if you fancy getting a tablet pc instead)

Parallax is due to the gap between the glass and LCD, or the thickness of the glass. The display for this product is laminated so there's minimal parallax except from the thickness of the glass, noticeable only when you're looking for it. The issues you experience could be due to the cursor moving away due to the angle of the pen. My guess. The response rate of the display is 25ms. Xppen list the pen's response rate as 90ms. I'm not sure what that's about. I didn't notice the pen being noticeably more sluggish compared to other pen displays. This was a relative easy review for me to make because the product worked fine for me. For the issues you experience, you should contact Xppen and see what they say. Or put up your own review. If it's a lousy product, you would have helped people save money.

Parallax always exist in these tablets . But Pen offset is kinda bad too.. ( calibration) . It's ok but as soon as you tilt Opposite to your natural grip it just jumps away from cursor. And I like to tilt sometimes
