For anyone wondering: the factory bolts are M10-1.5 x 30mm

I’m gonna get this bumper and install it with genright’s 30.5 gal xj extended fuel tank

I have a 2001. Outer passenger side tie in bolted on fine except having to trim the lower inside corner so it would fit over the flare on the spring bucket. Drivers side was a different story. Had to trim the inside corner to clear the spring bucket, shorten the bracket because it hit the cover for the fuel lines and two rivets. Also, if you drill the hole on drivers side the way he shows it will not line up. So I had a fun day.

Just ran into the same issue on a 99! Having issues with driver and passenger side inside brackets lining up. Plus, I had to drill a hole in the factory gas tank skid plate to accommodate the frame tie in plates! After having to reorder parts that where missing and all this misalignment crap I’m starting to wonder about this companies quality control.

I own a heavily built 96 XJ, and it's loaded with many JCR products. I really love the quality, and their service is outstanding. I tow an off-road Overlanding trailer and needed to weld in a couple brackets to prevent my Vanguard bumper from tilting backward. This is my only complaint about anything I have purchased from JCR.

Dear lord, $700 just for the bumper then another $500 for those swing out tire carriers? Gonna pass

Man, was hoping you'd actually have a tire carrier install video. I hope your online directions are good lol. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Carpet in an XJ??!?!?! 😊 Put the Crusader on mine w/ the rear 1/4 armor and the tie in's....long time ago. Good stuff 5 star! I want the gas tank skid, gotta get over there someday soon and pick one up

Read the comments and reply’s before you purchase this bumper from JCR!!! So far this rear bumper instal has been a horrible experience for me…things were missing out of my order (critical it strip and frame tie-ins, bumper had scratches w/some small areas of rust when I got it (I can fix that well enough). But now the outer/inner brackets are not lining up! What should have been a weekend project has turned into a multiple month project (mostly waiting for missing order items) that’s going to require me to get out my torch to get thing to fit!

It can be a PITA to install lol, it’s more of a trial and error thing, taking off putting on, ext… as for the brackets, you kinda have to mess with where you’re going to drill the holes. I drilled the holes exactly like in the video, and the brackets did not line up. The holes should’ve been a inch or so higher or lower, (don’t remember) but, What I did was just open up the hole bigger to be able to move the outer bracket a bit higher or lower to then be able to tie in to the inner bracket. (figured the bigger hole that gave me more wiggle room ) didn’t matter since it’s getting tightened down sandwiched anyways. Hope this makes sense and somewhat helps

Ok im currently installing this bumper and i have a bag of bolts marked out but no clue to which bolt set goes to which holes.. any help?

Yeah, it's a universal tire mount, and it depends on if you buy two doors or not.

What size drillbit did you use?

never mind, this car is gorgeous .. everything is modified, looks totally awesome and unique .. what kinda fender flares you have installed? they seem to be going all the way down on the back below the bumper... the standard one sits on top of the bumper. Thanks

Too bad your quality sucks. The bumpers look great, but I received a damaged bumper. It was never opened and still in the protection padding. Your guy Chris seems to think it was ups. I don't see how if it was still sealed?! You guys also didn't include the mounting hardware..... horrible experience and will avoid jcr from here on out.

My bumper (99 XJ) came in damaged (figured I’d touch it up and it’d be fine), it was missing parts (nut strip that I ordered and frame tie-in bracket), and now nothing is lining up for the driver and passenger inside/outside brackets. HUGE difference so far between my front bumper install (3-4 yrs ago) and this rear bumper install. Beginning to wonder about JCR now!

What axle have ?

This was not a good guide at all. It is better than the instructions provided on the website though.
