Thank you for the video. It helped me to dismantle mine with changing the differential as well as the axle crown. The car suffered with all the things we do with it. Pretty amazed how it survived
Thanks. It was my first time replacing a part on it. Your videos helped me to replace the rear differential that lasted 2 weeks only. Hope you'll continue to make videos about the 9125. Cheers!
first time into hobby type RC and this video gave me confidence to open this up and get it back in running conditin without worry. thank you sir! this is also applicable to legendary RC 1:10 scale i got
BigUP !!! thx a lot... since i'm a noobie RC enthousiast I recently got this 9125 as 1st RC to learn and experiment with it a bit before investing more and i've just finished greasing my rear diff with your vid a a RL ref and it was a breeze... mine did had a little bit of grease in it so not as bad as yours but still i filled it up and closed all back EZ PEAZY... THX A LOT and keep up the good work !!!
Excellent video. Had this issue on all wltoys vehicles as well as hosim.
Rear left steering cup is broken and I wasn't sure how to go about fixing it. Thanks for the video. I have the part ordered and I'm sure I can get it all taken care of now.
Lost the rear diff in my Hosim-branded truck... lasted three weeks. It still runs... only have three drive wheels atm. They are sending me a new diff, thankfully.
thank you been looking for a vid that showed the motor setup
ANOTHER great video👍👍 I had something go bad in my rear diff last night at the sand lot. I wanted to see what I was getting into, before I got into it HaHaHa!!! 3S & paddle tires, it was bound to happen sooner or later, but good God, what a blast it is to run. Thanx again for the great video
Hi all, really like your videos Mr Frugal cheers. I have this model truck, at first I was excited by the capabilities, I'm new to the hobby. Unfortunately my 9125 has spent equal time on the bench as on the street. The driveshaft to front wheels popped out of it's socket and rounded it off. Both differentials then failed at different times. The keys on the cups of the diff just sheared off. Hosim are good at customer service so they're sending me the parts (this was all in the first 2 weeks of running). So I advise viewers if you are getting this truck, make sure you do the diff service shown in these videos. With hindsight its worth saving a bit more to get an intro model from Traxxas, arrma or the like.
Thanks for the detailed video. Looking at servicing my truck is so intimidating....this will definitely help!

Yeah it's incredibly annoying lol sealing off all of the internals with plastic shrouding was a stupid decision. It's such a pain almost like working on a Mercedes lol.
Amazing....detailed. Vital. Info...(well spoken)informative.....thanks
Great vid, thank you!
Another great video.thanks.
really helpful video, need to add grease to my new 9125. but i found that it's better not to remove the shock tower, that way you can just pull the whole cover off, no need to pry it out. it goes for the front cover too, just pull the shock tower gently and the cover will come off..
This was one of my choices from GearBest to do a review on, I did buy the smaller version 9130 for my brother-in-law back when I first started out n really thought it was a great truck for the price, but since I had one on the channel I picked a different model, but this is a great starter rig

Great video. I did all the maintenance, but my rear wheel is spinning freely without engaging. What could that be?
I don't have an exploded view or owner's manual , to show where everything goes back together, I replaced the differential and probably took more apart than I needed to and having trouble figuring out where everything goes now. Still sitting on the work bench waiting for me to get ambitious again, and ready to sit down and try to put it back together. If I can't figure it out right away I tend to go do something else for a while.
Nice video. Any chance you have made or could make a video on motor, esc, and receiver swap or service? I run mine on 3s from time to time and sticking in a brushless motor/esc might be fun.
Whatsup Moodog, isn't it recommended to grease the motor gears and the driveshaft gear also? Please advise thanks? Great video btw.. helps me out alot. Servicing my 9125 as we speak!
Great review! Have you tried removing the hexagon nut (the nut after removing the wheel)? Can't seem to remove it :(
11:10 Did you use the opportunity to swap out the left and right outdrive cups to even out the wear?
You talked about that lower turn motors could be put in. Would that slow the truck down if you wanted to more of just a offroad/trail style driving?
The best one review.. Done subscribe!.. 👍🏻
Hey I took my tire off on the same car and when I put it back the tire was little bit wobbly when moving. I took of two tires off and both are wobbly a little any recommendations for me to fix this. I have the stock wheels also nothing is broken and every thing is tightened
I bought a wrecked 9125, the rear diff was wasted. Perfectly explained steps, I now have her up and running.
Hey great video, I'm trying to replace my sons s920 transmitter with no luck... could you give me some advice or a tutorial video on how to do that thanks..😁
Inside this car is there a way to hook up a fan or no or how would you if you wanted to?
in the 1:39, may i know where you get the ball end front shock. The original keeps failing, popping out of place on mine.
Dont forget to put two hair bands on the top and lower arms to keep the steering from popping out of the steering cups
Hey how you doing, wanted to see if you can help me out I have this hosim truckI'm pretty sure it's one of the first ones that came out the ESC and receiver it's chrome metal, what a question I have is that part burned out the ESC and receiver,so I bought a new one on eBay but they send me the new version the ESC and receiver underneath that little plastic it's red,and guess what when I looked it up it works and everything but the remote instead of going right it goes left the turning position is wrong please help
I broke my front and rear axel any help on a great place to get the parts from?
Are both motors used at the same time or is one motor for low speed and one for high speed?
Great video James, goes to show how dirt and grit comes through those cooling vents on the sides of the chassis and ends up inside where the motors are mounted. and what a surprise about no grease in that rear diff, that's terrible. I received a couple zd racing diff's new from eBay and one of the 2 is locked up while the other spins smooth and freely. I am going to inspect before installing because I bet its dry inside as well. Will do this preventative maintenance on my 9125 after a few more runs, cheers, thumbs up!

Thanks Dave! Yeah, a lot of crud gets sucked in through the cooling vents for sure! Preventative maintenance with these things is key! Thanks for looking!
Do you know the teeth of the pinions on the motors? It would be nice if you had to replace the motors to find some more peppy motors but you would obviously need the pinions on them to mesh or there would be serious problems.
Hi friend, good videos, today i bought in amazon the HOSIM 9156 scale 1:12 , i have a question , its a good rc car? , sorry my english so bad ....
Great video but you said you couldn't keep dirt out but I think you can by putting a woman's nylon stocking over entire housing for Motors and you don't have to worry about overheating or anything like that because nylon is very thin so air and heat can still get in and out

Hello, I have a problem with my 9125 vehicle. The vehicle accelerates by itself when I touch the gas trigger, I cannot control the speed at all, it does not go behind. What could be the reason?
hello! new problem guys when i see this video i go check my differential and no grease, some internal gears not move but i put grease and fine, the problem is in the video moodog don't disassembly de differential totally, there are one part where the dog bone goes that is conect too the gears and is completely destroy i dont know if is because no greese or the metal is weak, someone can help i can buy another diferential but is not possible make a upgrade of the metal parts of the diferential.i have photos but i don t know how send,thanks

THIS IS GREAT!! Thank you! I just got my truck a week ago and I can already tell there's a lot of tightness on the differentials. After seeing this video, I can tell that there's no grease in there. This will be my weekend project! Again, thank you!! Additional quick do you ever clean the motor or spray anything in there?
@jctoo9756
3 жыл бұрын
I opened up mine after watching this, thinking of applying some grease into the "dry" differential gear. But it's actually not dry. It has grease inside them already. Nevertheless, I cleaned off the stock grease and applied red grease.
Just watching this and had a question my truck today front end stopped spinning and it was 2wd. I have it pulled apart and the only thing I've found messed up I think is the driveshaft. Back where the gear is for the motors actually pulls off of my shaft so im thinking that it's not spinning the shaft to transfer any power to it
@chriscallarman7395

If the drive shaft is not spinning then the rear wheels would not have power either. Front differential maybe?

Hey there. I am thinking of getting our first 1:10 R/C. How is this holding up after nearly two years? This will be my daughter's birthday present, she's 14.
Is it possible to swap differentials front to back and extend cups lifetime (they wear on one side only)?
@LeSiZmOr
5 жыл бұрын
Great question. The cups are the same both front to back so theoretically, you could swap them out. They will wear more in the rear generally speaking, due to higher torque from motors being in so close proximity.
long video. good👍
Hi Moodog Great video. My 9125 is making a noise like gears are riding each other. Doesn’t happen if I gently ease on the power (which is never as everyone knows you have to drive everywhere at full throttle). Can the large plastic gear which the motors drive be replaced? I haven’t opened it up yet as I want to know as much as possible before I do. Also. If I put a parallel Y split in the battery cable and add a second 2s battery does this then make it 4s?

@LeSiZmOr

This one stayed pretty much stock. I haven't run this truck much lately. I have to order lower A arms. The shocks I had on it were too long and it was causing undue stress on the shock mount points. My mistake. Make sure you are getting the right length when and if you plan a suspension upgrade. The mount points on the lower A arms are pretty thin. Great truck. Hard to kill for sure! Thanks for watching.

Hey there, do a pre drive check of all screws that they are snug. If you are talking about A arms popping off the hub carriers then...again check before you go out to bash!. You may need to replace the lower arms.. Its possible that the mount points are worn.
