I remember my first transistor radio. 1961 and I was six years old. My Dad bought it for me when I was going to the hospital to have my tonsils removed. Sears Silvertone, mint green with a real leather carrying case. The only thing is that the battery you could only get at Sears. When I got home, late at night I would pull the covers over my head and listen to radio stations from far away. Magic.
NdFeB stands for the elements the speaker magnet is made of: Neodymium, Iron, and Boron. These are called "rare earth" magnets and are commonly used in modern speakers.
Hello: I stll remember getting my first valvular Philips radio in 1949 and then all the ones with transistors, I had near 30 of them and still have way many. We do not have those amazing Internet radios in frozen Patagonia, Argentina. We are lucky if we have Internet or electricity at all. I appreciate youth like you that love radios. Gracias = Thank you.
I always like cheap Chinese radio reviews. 😊
Still enjoy listening to different shortwave stations. Used to get tons of stations from all over the world. Still listen to New Zealand, and other countries too.
Hi there, is it possible that the charging process was interfering with reception quality?
My Grandmother gave me my first little transistor radio, for my Birthday in 1967, only picked up AM, of course were not many FM stations back then. It was red and came with the little tiny ear piece.
That is an incredible title. I agree, radio.
My first radio was a red , white, rocket radio. It worked well. Then, in the early '60s, I got a transistor am radio. Those were the days.
Still something magic about radio! That looks nice, the speaker grill brings back memories of late 70s radio cassettes, and replaceable battery good, I can't stand built in batteries as the whole thing could be scrap when it fails.
My first radio was a hand-me-down from my sister. I don't remember the brand (odd for me), but it was a fairly large AM radio with great reception. I listened to a LOT of AM rock from about 1970 to about 1976 with that radio. Not to mention the King Biscuit Flour Hour and the Dr. Demento show.
Record ology I wish you and miss record ology and your kids a happy 4th of July my friend
I just bought the Choyong LC90 and really like it. But these XHDATA radios sure look impressive and the cost blows Tecsun out of the water. Thanks for the reviews on these.
Hi great video, when I was young we had a valve radio with antenna in the roof and listen a lot , got into swl with rca ar88 receiver on long wire and Atu, from that got into ham radio , i joined the British army territorial reserve working and maintaining hf radio systems and through that from my staff Sargent got a job with the Met police and long career with there communications, I have the X-data portable 808 it’s a good radio . Regards mark
As a dual citizen, lovely to see your shirt - two countries can bury the hatchet and become close allies! I'm also happy about the UK election result - I will be much more nervous come November!
Like your get right to the point style of video.
10:48 FWIW it's the chemical composition of the speaker magnet. commonly known as a neodymium magnet.
You need to test it with the battery. The charger will severely hurt your am and sw performance.
You may get better reception when you unplug the charging cable. Something to look out for is the tunning dial, as it goes from fast to slow tuning automatically, and it's a bit mercurial in choosing. It's a popular radio, but I'm in the minority that likes the R-108 better, if only because I'd rather have airplanes than weather.
I got the D-109 not WB version, I like it..But it Overloads like crazy on FM if your near a transmitter
I'll stick to my Retekess V115. It has everything I need.
Where can I listen to your son's music?
TECSUN H-501X would be my choice from these ''cheap'' radios it is the most advanced one and costs only around 350$
Record ology I wish you 73s my friend
Record ology iam thinking about getting XHDATA D-608WB AM FM sw wb and bt mp3 and weather Alert emergency portable receiver my friend
