I am glad to see more from the cleaners. they felt hardly been part of the campaign until this update (they also help you not feel like your forces in the early game are underpowered)

Yeah I am really enjoying having more conventional opponents for the start of the campaign, it makes the building threat of the aliens more anxious as well.

That was a well played mission. We'll just say that the machine gun bullets whizzing past your soldier's ear were to show the new guy what happens to squad members who don't hit their shots. :)

Well now they know what to do next time!

I have been using a two shield set up for a bit, love that you have moved to it and are enjoying it. It drops the DPS slightly and having two options for mobile cover is so good. Also funny to me the first turn I was impressed with how cautious you were being and then you apologized for being so aggressive. Perception is such a funny thing :)

The mobile cover is so useful, I will be making use of it until the alien weapons get too strong for shields.

something I had the missfortune of finding out when I did a WIP assassination mission was that you can see what tiles the enemies will spawn on thanks to that diagonal line effect they have. Found this out by having my lone operator hugging the wall and getting jumped by two Cleaners that spawned literally on them....

You are way to conservative with your smoks (and explosives in general, to he honest). On a related node, I highly recommend delaying the next mission until the cleaner interrogation is done. The +15% damage let's your grenades one shot unarmored cleaners and on a mission where speed is paramount, that is a big deal.

You know why I am so conservative with explosives? Valen. I think I have PTSD from her shouting at me for grenading aliens in (nu)Xcom that I try and keep them as absolute last resort because destroying the enemy means no loot. It's all her fault.

It's not dead I just have a ton on my plate and they take a lot of time to record and edit, now that things are calming down again I intend to bring it back! Thanks for checking in!

Would it be possible to do a VIP rescue mission like this with just all shields? Roman Turtle formation it through the map, for the meme?

That is hilarious and worth trying just for the memes. As far as it actually being feasible, I think the shields would run out of durability due to ever increasing numbers of enemies before you could get out. I've seen other people actually bring shields on several troopers that they drop on the skyranger to then equip their actual primary. That way they have spare shields for longer missions, but that wouldn't work here.

You could go knives only and pack an extra shield possibly? Maybe all shields plus one machine gunner or something would be a laugh!
