Xbox Series X/S Controller - Sticky Trigger Issue Shown Clearly Easily

Комедия

At about 1:02 the glue is most visible. To prevent wear on future controllers, if the controller/hand is getting hotter after long playing times, it may be best to switch to a colder controller to reduce overheating the glue and prevent the felt pad that was there from melting off.

the reason for that piece of tape is dampening the impact of the trigger when it is fully pressed. not a bad idea itself. but they used wrong materials. and they made the contact patch so small the tiny gluestrip gets loose and left a gooy mess behind. a rubberized patch mechanically fixed would be better. but this would be in no comparison to cost at all(would be worth it for customers but not for microsoft...)

this was a great easy to follow video my glue spot was in the same area, a lil q-tip and rubbing alcohol did the trick thanks !

Thanks for the video. I used Goo Gone and Q-tips. One to apply it to both contact surfaces and one to dry. Between this problem and the stick drift these are the worst controllers I've ever used!

The glue is for the little pad that you didn't mention, which slips off and then you're left with glue.

Thanks for the vid , mine has the same problem. Its the pad they added to dampen the sound of the trigger that is causing the problem. Guess the padding got worn out and the glue underneath is exposed. I just removed whats remaining of the padding and cleaned the glue with alcohol. Its fine now.

Other than the stock controller that came with the console. I Only use 3rd party premium controllers

Has this issue on my left trigger, it was bothering me a bunch. I opened it up and I realized there are foam pads that are supposed to dampen the sound I guess. I decided to just remove both. I find the clacking sound much less pleasant than with the pads, but I'd much prefer a little bit of noise over the trigger sticking. Edit: I would like to replace them, but I haven't found where you can buy them or know what I should use instead. Ideally have both sound dampening and no sticking, but I supposed if I have to open up the controller again I wouldn't care too much since it's not difficult to remove the pads.

Maybe look for cabinet door pads. I've seen some very low profile ones. Could potentially cut a sliver off one of them and stick it in place.

You can put a little piece of foam or cotton, that works really good, i had the same issue and im currently using my joystick that way

I just stuck a bit of tape where the foam pads should be. Makes them a lot more quiet and the surface area is larger so the glue shouldnt be an issue.

Xbox is such a waste of money. You can get a good keyboard and mouse for half the price of this piece of junk. The games are cheaper and better. Never again

This video is not about fixing squeaking triggers, it's about fixing sticking triggers. Very different issue, you shouldn't have expected this video to solve your problem
