The depth of understanding by Belinda is an order of magnitude above what Im seeing from other Game Editors on biz sites like Forbes, Busnness Insider. And then the insights per minute are shockingly high, this is a demonstration of journalistic mastery. And then, the production quality on the video is top tier. Wow. I've been avidly following gaming business for over 20 years... Why have I just found this channel today? And how can I get a collab between Skillup and this channel?

Xbox next gen hardware based on information out there they will probably be an open source platform. Steam, epic on there platform along with a handheld console kind of like asus rog ally where when there done on tv console they can continue playing on there portable console Hopefully they can tighten up a custom made windows 11 for portable console that’s exclusive for Xbox

Great video. Worth mentioning that Don Mattrick was cause for the loss of the 360 goodwill and momentum. Also, Phil is right about it not just being about games. Dreamcast had a stellar lineup but the PS2 DVD capability was a clear driver for their success.

Completely taking what he said out of context like 99% of everyone else does. It's not about attitude, it's about FACTS. FACTS are that exclusives don't move market share of consoles. FACTS are that most people are playing Minecraft and Roblox, not Halo or Forza, on their console. FACTS that most people just buy the console their friends buy. FACTS that most people will just buy the console they already have a digital library on. So it's not about "an attitude" it's about REALITY.

14:19 I don't buy this argument whatsoever, because Xbox still has exclusives to its brand, and if their goals are to reach as much players as possible, then why not release Halo, Gears of War, Forza Horizon, and Starfield on Playstation and Switch consoles? Plus that ridiculous argument is only really applied to Sony and Microsoft; nobody complains that they can't play Super Mario or Zelda on Playstation and Xbox. The cognitive dissonance is unreal.

I hear you, though I don't see Microsoft winning this war. Still, it's interesting to watch.

I don't think even the entire gaming industry is taking into account the current geopolitical situation on how gaming could evolve in the next 10 or 20 years thanks to the change of people's mentality about power. Many "de facto" systems in the world are going to receive competitors and some of those just replaced altogether by more realistic models that don't involve meaningless gratificiation, but something beyond the imaginaton. Beyond the usual and shallow cpmpensation. The very roots of power could see themselves in radical transformation, now that the oldest structures and rulers are fading away.

Console exclusives never made sense to me, they sell the hardware at a loss and always have. If they can sell the games without selling a Console its way better for them in the end.

Who knows what those are? 😅 Especially when Sony gives you 5, bigger number better! Plus having the Xbox Pass, Game pass? PC Game pass? other confusing names, that also seems to imply that all the games are on PC anyway. Why get a console? Anyway if they keep doing hardware it makes so much sense for it to be a handheld. I REALLY hope we see something really innovating as hardware, just for the fun of it! Gaming hardware is kinda getting fun again? Also PC gaming handhelds already double as living room TV consoles anyway. Big boxes under the TV are gonna disappear.. trading for docked handhelds, micro PCs.. AMD is really pushing crazy integrated graphics these days. on low wattage too. Really turning things upside down. Litteraly gaming PCs in the palm of your hand. Also it makes a lot of sense for Microsoft to ''become'' (buy, lol) a publisher (many publishers) instead. Games can be played on so many devices. I'm still unsure how cloud gaming/game streaming will develop, if it'll really be popular in the near future. A part of it is a scary world where you don't own your games, and gamers aren't ready for that. But maybe a larger population is!? Still can't make up what that business model will be. Anyway I'm especially curious about what they can do on mobile. I didn't know they were going for that space! THAT is an area that needs huge impovement, as discussed in a previous comment! lol Never been a Xbox guy, but I'm on board it they can make me enjoy my smartphone again!! (currently just a sad notification and doom scolling machine).

Agreed that in the last 2 months Xbox (Microsoft Gaming? lol) has had some icky moments They actually would do everyone a service with a handheld OS instead! I'm not interested in using Windows11 on a 7inch screen lol (also, not at all with all the built-in ads but well... another icky Microsoft moment)

Great video! Console exclusives are horrible, and ironically it's the main reason I never bought a console. Blatantly taking away customer freedom is not something I will support, and I don't know why any sane gamer would support it. Of course in a few years after that decision, it wasn't actually difficult to hold myself to it, since PC gaming was always better, and it only got even more ahead of console gaming in time. Xbox game pass however seems to be giving more options to gamers, as they get a lot of games without much of a commitment. I know some people don't like subscriptions, and a lot of them do suck, but Gamepass has more than enough content to get your money's worth.

Sure, but then again Sony is saying the same things. Imagine you made $100K and got to keep $6K for investment, saving and to spend as you like. By any stretch of the imagination that is a disastrous result. That’s what Sony’s 6% margin on $10B represents. In fact, their margins have been falling significantly despite selling a lot of consoles. If you think, Sony is going to fundamentally change their business model, you’re not paying attention. In fact, we know they are going to change their model from their recent investments, public statements and information gleamed from the insomniac hack. They may move slower than MS with this stuff but the reality is, they also need to find more players or they have to charge their current players more.

@@caldweabNintendo and PS will be fine. Xbox are the ones with all the mixed messaging. They might not reach 50M consoles sold this gen despite selling a $300 console. They will keep the Xbox around because most of their GP subs play there. Selling the games else where is extra money.

@@bosskey23 i doubt PS6 will sell as much as PS5 and ps4 sold, reason being PC will eat up more of its market share. Consoles made sense when PCs were underpowered, yet now the narrative is reversed. PCs are much better + have made significant strides towards catching in convenience and accessbility, which will only get better as MS and co invest more to make it the main platform

The SteamVSEpic is not a thing, even Epic know that and even we know that. Exclusive game is bad but good too. It drives company to make better games, invest more, try new things. Now? Xbox said no years ago, and they have nothing to show for. If they keep doing it, it's not going to be good for gaming in general tbh. Why I never bought an Xbox since the 360? No games.

Again, let me repeat this. ALL the biggest selling games for the Switch are EXCLUSIVES. They are priced at $60 to $70 and they sell between 30 and above 60 MILLION copies. Switch also is the BIGGEST selling piece of hardware worldwide. Keep that in mind before you watch this Xbox PROPAGANDA video. 😂

And did you forget Sony's vast PS1 library? How old are you? Not to mention, the Gamecube is a perfect demonstration of what happens when you launch without a killer app. The Wii U was so badly handled that most consumers thought it was a controller, not a system. Learn your gaming history. Space Invaders, Super Mario Bros, Tetris, Sonic the Hedgehog, Doom, Wii Sports, and Breath of the Wild speak for themselves.
