Nice Video I was fighting with a xbox for i dont know 4 or 5 hours seen you say something about the Blu Ray Drive i put another one just to test put the OG one from the console back in and it booted after trying 3 hdd's. So yes the blu ray disk must cause some sort of issue giving the E-100. Good looking out,

YES BRO! E106 on a xbox one X over and over wont update, disk drive Sata cable was the cause, not shorted or open on any of the lines. Swapping that cable and putting it back brings the error code right back, weird Im still not sure whats failed inside the cable..

Add the same issue with an XBox One S. The OG 500GB HDD died and I tried replacing it with two seperate 500GB SSD and and 1TB SSD, but kept getting the E100 error - Finally took a spare 2TB HDD I had laying around, the update finally went pass the 59% - 62% window. The 500GB SSD worked on an original XBox One (VCR) & the 1TB SSD worked on a XBox One X, but only 2TB HDD would work on the One S. All the HDD & SSD read as healthy on my computer, so not sure if the HDD script we are all using is faulty for the One S for the 500GB & 1TB setup scripts, but it worked flawlessly for the 2TB HDD. 🤷‍♂️

Good video but we had and E100 problem. But before that our Xbox one wasn't reading the disc and it won't play. What could that be need help asap.

I’m having the same problems should I order a new hardrive?

CrystalDiskInfo mate, it's free and works a charm

I replaced the hard drive, but by the time I get up to 54, he says something's wrong.

Great vid mate, bit of advice always unplug from the mains when you are unplugging things off the motherboard.

Thanks mate, my motherboard has hot plug support for hard drives so unplugging things are fine, but I appreciate the concern 😃

My xbox one x wont let me download any osu1 or the system restore update from a usb i keep getting system error E101 and E106 any tips???. Think its the hard drive but im not sure my console for the last month has been acting up bad wouldnt let me load any games due to 0x80007025a... (Game took to long to load)

So I have an xbox day one edition and I get the error code: E100 00000706 80070002 and can't find specifically what it means. Ive already swapped the hard drive so I know it's the disc drive but how do I know if the daughter board is working?

System Error: E100 00000703 80910002 and i know its my optical drive because i reefed the sata connector off the optical drive 😂

Why did you use fat32 instead of ntfs for the USB? I keep getting e106 and e102 When I do the offline system update it says something went wrong Currently watching around 35 minutes in the video

What percent do you get to when you get the error? To be honest I'm not sure why I formatted in FAT32 since it is actually supposed to be NTFS for the OSU

Hey I'm finding your videos really instructive, I'm trying to repair an xbox one phat which gets stuck at 86% updating and simply freezes there, tried replacing hdd twice, tried different sata and power cable, everything you could think of but nothing works. I was thinking it might be something within the motherboard itself, like the NAND flash corrupted or maybe fault on the south bridge chip? Do you have any idea you could give me? I'd appreciate it so much! Otherwise I'll just use it for parts

Depending on you’re error it could be caused by optical disk drive it needs to be the original with the motherboard and if it stops functioning or is swapped from a different motherboard it needs repaired or the system won’t update

I have xbox one fat, and i always get something wrong at 74percent update. And error e105 and e106. Hdd life is good

Same issue here getting stuck on 3/3 (Applying) then it stays on 74 and fails every time but is giving me a e100.

Hey Phil, I've got similar issue, it comes up with E101/E102, depending on what I do, checked the hard drive and it was faulty. I replaced the hard drive with a know working drive (tested using seatools), re-partitioned it using xboxonehdd-master, uploaded the latest OSU files on SystemUpdate 1 A/B/updater.vxd etc, even added the boot anim file. Its a process I have done before. However I am getting the same issue, even when I boot to safe mode and try and apply system update, I get to 1%. Do the Xbox's have some kind of flash which might be corrupted. Really in pickle with this one, any ideas let me know.

Hey Abdul, I'm actually not sure to be honest but being that it only gets to 1% that would generally tell me that the system isn't recognising the hard drive. Did you check the power and sata cable to make sure it isn't damaged? If the cable isn't the issue I would try another drive. Some consoles can be fussy, I had one which I did a video on a few days ago which wouldn't update with a known good drive but then worked with the drive out of my own console

​ @TheCod3r I've just pulled another drive/caddy out a redundant console, still giving me the same issue, saying that it was the same brand (samsung), will try it with brand of drive tomorrow.

You could hook the hard drive up to a computer and see if it reads in CrystalDiskInfo (free software)

@@TheCod3r but in this video your hard drive looks fin in CrystalDiskInfo before you putting it in the Xbox, and it's not working

@@anishella95 if the hard drive is good then you would need to fault find and figure out what the issue is. It's hard to say without seeing the console in person unfortunately

Hi, yes any laptop (2.5") hard drive should work fine for the xbox one s :)

The disc drive or hard drive is usually the cause of e106 and E100

Hi Lucas, E100 is a general error code and could be anything. It may have a bad hard drive or a bad disc drive. You will need to try replacing the hard drive or disc drive, and if it still doesn't work you may need to seek help from a technician near you. @@lucasaugusto7009 the chances are you may have a faulty disc drive daughter board and it may not be possible to fix it. It would be hard to say though without looking at it

I have the first Xbox one that ever came out and it stopped working 2 days ago. It was stuck on the update at 53%. Idk what to do to fix it

Not usually mate if it has bad sectors it's a ticking time bomb to be honest

TheCod3r I messed around with those types of drives in the mid 90s , but once SSD came out that’s all I use. I have 2TB on board my computer and a separate 6TB external tower for data storage, it’s in a fire proof box, that’s where all our photos and videos are stored
