Xbox 360 RF Board repair
Xbox 360 slim's RF board repair.
This is a decoupling capacitor and my theory is that capacitor fails short...that means it conducts the current into ground and therefore the rest of the circuit does not get current and does not turn on...so by removing it you will remove the short from the circuit and the rest of the circuit will get power up!

i must commit, the action saved my 11 year old Xbox 360S! it has been 5 years my xbox 360s stored in the warehouse and now my daughter is enjoying it! thank you very much! MERCI!
I used a small screwdriver as well to push off the capacitor. I can't believe that worked, thank you! Been looking forward to introducing my kids to video games and hadn't touched this console for years...amazing!
I just used a small screwdriver to push the capacitor and it popped right off. And, the Xbox powered right up! Thanks for the video!
Worked for me! It was labeled C5 on my board. Thank you!
@EMBEDONIX Thanks for the info, I ripped C57 from mine and thought I'd destroyed it as it wasn't the cleanest removal if I'm honest and then I just got the dreaded "Red Dot of Death" but I believe that was pure coincidence as I bought the Machine as faulty to begin with, I've since tried the RF Board in a different Console and it's working in that and Syncs Controllers fine etc, I haven't tried the USB Ports yet mind!
Does anybody know what the black chip is directly below that capacitor? I have a board that won't work because that chip was removed, and I'd like to find a replacement.
Any ideas which capacitor it will be in Xbox 360 slim E? On button board theres something described "C5" but it does'nt look like this capacitor.
I need to replace one of the resistors on my 360 Slim RF board, R67. Do you know the specs for this resistor? Is is a 0603? Is it 30 ohm? I read on a thread that I can just use a jumper from another resistor, is this correct? ANY info you can give would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
with the cap on did it make the beep noise?
I think i did the wrong one where i took the black thing under c58 out what do it do😭
What will happen if i did not put That back?
is there a way to stop the xbox 360 slim from recieving/searching for wireless signals?
Does it also work on the Xbox 360 e
Worked on mine. Thank you
i need mine replace but what scew do u used for the rf board
I have removed and nothing... still doesn't want to power on. I've even bought a new power supply I have no idea where the problem lies
Hello der need some info. I have an xbox 360 slim, it front panel is not working but the console can be turned on using its wired controller connected to the back. The console turns on after pressing the xbox logo on the controller. But once its turned on. The controller gets out of sync and does not work afterwards.Based on your expertise on which area should I look for faults?
Didn't help.. :( Maybe i should replace the whole board..? The DVD release button does beep then you press it only a few seconds and the power button does beeps and lights up only once, then the power supply turns red as before..
What value did the cap end up being?
do you know the value so I can get one?
