OK. Good title. In your view, having played all three, what is the best?

The fact is the Wii and Move are only tracking a single point on the controller (like a mouse) in 3D space. The Kinect is tracking your entire body in 3D (without having to hold anything) so it is going to open up a lot more innovation in the future. Kinect is definitely not perfect, but it has more potential than the Move - which is ultimately just a perfected version of the Wii Remote.

Anyway, I've enjoyed our conversation, thanks very much for making it interesting, however I think we're in danger of repeating ourselves now and therefore have gone as far as we can go with it for now. But in the end, what you or I think doesn't really matter, it's what happens out in the games market that matters, and hence Kinect and Move games released over the next year with give us a better idea of how right or wrong we were. Chances are, the truth will be somewhere in the middle. :)

@MrZallaz exactly! That's what I've been thinking, the PSMove is a hardcore version of the Wii and same I have them all too so I don't know why everyone is fighting.

@eCALjMAP: as far as i know the Wii only tracks you in a 2D (x-y) positioning. PS Move and Wii Motion Plus track 3D positions (x-y-z). and of course both have accelerometers and shifting sensors.

@drame44 - Not quite :) Yes Kinect on it's own may seem more limited (although not so much if you look through the videos on Kinecthack(.)net), but for hardcore genres, Kinect will be used just like PSEye is used for head tracking in GT5, i.e. to add extra features to the controller. So gamers will use the controller as always, with Kinect adding features like head tracking, voice/gesture commands, leaning, throwing grenades, special melee attacks and other ideas. It would have been nice to see each screen labeled letting us know what device (Xbox, playstation, wii) was being used. Also, I was hoping to hear how each device works and which one would be the best purchasing choice.

kinect is the worst followed by the wii and psmove, psmove i the more precise of the three because of its technology, but wii has more games

@08jnope you can have movement set to the sub controller and lightsader attacks set the the move controller and the eye can track your head so you can duck and dodge. kinect may have its strong points but it have many weak points that people will begin noticing while playing games and who knows i might be completely wrong. but the move seems a bit more interactive and with a camera that can go up to 120fps it has pretty dang good motion capture. you need 60 for sold motion capture kinect=30fps.

I will give my vote to the PlayStation Move for overall best perfomance, but the Kinect comes in a close second place. The Kinect really does get you into the entire gaming experience, but then again, I'm for performance not exactly trying to lose weight. Dance Central for the Kinect is absolutely the best game for it, though. LOVE IT!!

for people whos afraid of fresh air outside and just love hanging out inside and still have fun. pick the kinect. whole body is moving exercising and making u a little less lazy in ur life.agree?

@MTMind2 yes it does. as i said the ps eye alone didnt have very fun games alone but with the addition of buttons (aka the move) the games are really fun and games that are going to come out look even funner cuz swithing weapons, useing a boost feature etc.. .If you ever played and rts (like starcraft, age of empires, etc)on a computer youd know that knowing the key commands are alot faster. or say your playing an rpg similar to starwars: force unleashed with a controller like the move .....

Came back from the mall and guess what? The Microsoft Store was full of people playing Kinect (Dance Central) while the Sony Store had nobody playing the Move, just a bunch of random adults looking at HDTV's. That's all I have to say :p

Idk i think they all have pros, i personly like to feel like you holding something, like e.g. playing a golf game or so its nice to hold something to simulate that, lol it be strange with kinect doing that, like wii & psmove have the controller attachments aswell. So its really nice when you get the like gun frame u can place ur controller in, as u can play it like u would hold it. Lol even having all 3 Consoles with the stuff im still a PC gamer :D

@Eyrex95 false, kinect has the same speed as the player. Kinect is definitly the best option, and as stated above, it uses the whole body, which is great!

kinect and move have pros and cons kinect tracks your whole body which is cool but without buttons it limits what there future games might be.and move only tracks your arms and hands but has cool games like socom 4, killzone 3, deus ex uncharted 3 etc...

@08jnope - That's an irrelevent argument imo. Kinect isn't designed to play games like Halo or CoD on it's own, even MS have said this. Instead, for hardcore genres, it can be used with the 360 controller and hence enhance gameplay. There are a number of 'hybrid' 360 games in development that use the 360 controller as normal and use Kinect to add extra features for those that have it, such as (perhaps) head tracking, gesture/voice commands, user interface control, special melee attacks etc.

I think move is best because I tried both at a local best buy and the kinect just feels really weird because there is no feedback.

@08jnope thats why it may seem sluggish and buggy if they improved that too it would do alot better but they didnt sadly. micro has i good idea trying to go controllerless for the casual gamer but eventualy there gonna have to ad a controller similar to the move or wii for it to hit the core gamers cuz that is where the real money is.

@PoldiEffekt oh and ninja gaiden 3 will have move support. Kinect support? No. Seems like developers favour the move as they can do more with it.

I've got em both and frankly there aren't great games for either but Kinect has a pretty good line up for this year coming up. Sometimes I feel like Sony is already abandoning the move.

@kniffler74 you obviously never played with the move you could hold the paddle reverse and it will replicate that in the game. it does everythin you do

I've never even played the PS3 or kinect but I have an Xbox and Wii. Tbh the PlayStation is more original because every moving thingy console was based around the EYE TOY for PS2. They either have a camera or a sensor

All I have to say is, try beating the last couple bosses on sports championship ping pong. Its hard to beat because it's so accurate. and you can't top KZ3 with the sharp shooter gun. Also very accurate.

Next time do kinect sports vs wii sports vs that ps3 game vs London 2012 in table tennis

@PoldiEffekt I play killzone 3, resistance 3, infamous2 with my move and nav controller. you play games that are repetitive. We get proper games on move. Oh and joy ride on kinect, yeah that has computer assist. See the vid of some lad who came 3rd from the back of the starting grid just by holding his arms out without moving..yeah great fun that lol.

@08jnope - In otherwords, it really comes down to opinion, where what may not be fun for you is great fun for someone else, and vice-versa. Hence we'll have to wait and see what game devs do with Move and Kinect in future. We don't play potential, we play games, hence we can speculate all day about what each can and cannot do, but in the end, it's about the games. So far, it looks like MS will win the Xmas battle, but will they win the war? That depends on the games. 2011 is a key year for both.

Kinect is the best because its the first of its kind. Wii second because I like the feeling of the actual paddle. And ps3 third because it is a wii remote in disguise.

The thing that makes wii table tennis the best is the noises it makes when the ball hits something it just sound so....crisp? Also the simplicity

@PoldiEffekt What do you do while playing games, scratch your bum? Something is not lame because their not your sort of thing and everyone was fine with holding controllers before Kinect came about. I didn't mention Wii Sports-there's more than one sports game on the Wii. In the UK, XBox Live is £9.99. We're in recession. All Kinect games are on rails unless they're driving games. That means you can't move around how you want. What's with the word 'lame'?

@fanboyismsucks - If you watch this video and think that one game for each motion-controller tells us everything we need to know, then ' your either stubborn as hell or blind....'. The point is, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, they all have their pros and cons, hence Move will be better for certain types of games, Kinect will be better for certain types of games, the standard console controller will be better for certain types of games etc.

kinect for the win. move uses controllers for only hand movements just like the wii and kinect uses whole body with no controllers, plus kinect uses voice commands and can have a larger varity of games becuase using the whole body will allow for a better gaming experience

Nice. I too have all. In terms of table tennis gameplay, move wins hands down, but presentation is much better with the Wii and kinect. Kinnect I found to be the worst of the bunch in term of gameplay. Bowling goes to the Wii, kinect bowling doesn't compare to wii, and move doesn't have a propper bowling game yet (one the was bult for move and not patched). But they are all still fun even if some are better then others.

Technology for kinect, sure. But even then the actual experience of playing, say table tennis, with a peripheral in hand is much more satisfying and feels better than just waving your palm around. Again not going to be a fanboy, just putting it out there that there are many people who will take the Wii or PS3 versions of motion over empty hand gestures of the X360 anyday. I think there was even a Kevin Butler commercial with this same argument, haha.
