I heard ps3 move had games u could actually play on ps3 move like dead space, bioshock and some other ones. Kinect had only dancing games and kinectables. so I would imagine that a real gamer would prefer I good game u could actually play, instead of dancing around like a Japanese school girl.

I can't believe he compared Kinect to Minority Report. Tom Cruise wasn't just using his bare hands having the computer track his movements with an infrared blaster; he was wearing gloves the computer tracked to register his movements...like PlayStation Move.

so for ps3 do you need a different controller for shooting games? you can't use the bulky hand controllers?

Also Move's precision beats Kinect ones :)

PS Move - Works well but not many games for it. Kinect - Barely playable but lots of games for it. Child of Eden, better on PS Move and worth owning PS Move for alone.

Wow, this is hard to watch in current year. I really liked my PlayStation Move, and a lot more than Wii's LASER-directed motion controls! I had a great time going through disc golf and winning all the highest metals.

The kinect is not precise at all while the move is really precise. I tried them both.

Playstation move is a joke just go buy a Wii lol

Kinect was incredible with family and friends tbh, such great fun !

Correct me if i'm wrong but, didn't Sony come up with something similar to the Kinect on the Playstation 2 called Playstation Eye Toy?

Sorry about the delay. As I stated, they used their ball tracking tech but there was never any device with motion sensors or buttons used with the webcam! The key to the Wiimote and Move is the motion sensing wand with gyros and accelerometers and buttons. EyeToy didn't flop btw. And ball tracking was one of MANY demo ideas, none of which where intended as a final product. Like I said, it's only after seeing the Wii that Sony realised they could use their old tech, add a wand & voila, PS Move :)

I think both are cool, the only downside of the kinect is that it has less variety of games but lots of games supporting it; ranging from family games to sports, and the downside of the ps move is that only a few games are developed for it but with wide variety.

Not quite my friend, I said & I quote "it can only track PEOPLE in 2D". That's the difference. EyeToy/PSEye does not directly measure distance, it can only work out distance with an object of a known size and shape, such as a ball. For example, if you know a ball is 1 inch in diameter, then you can work out how far away it is by it's size on the screen, and that's how Move knows how far away the wand is (the lit ball). So for Move to track you in 3D, you'll need to cover your body with balls :)

Kinect and PS Move are copies of the Wii. But there was the EyeToy on PS2. However, motion controls wasn't popular until the Wii. EyeToy was released. Fun Fact: the Wiimote was originally going to be released for GameCube.

I can fully understand why you feel that way about such driving sims, because I used to feel exactly the same many years ago. Over time I began to appreciate console driving/racing sims and so I think both are great, but not my favourite type of driving game. My favourite was the Project Gotham series, which for me struck the right balance between a sim/arcade driving model and racing that was actually fun (especially online). But still, I digress.... :)

What about the NES's Power Glove?

Already seen it they still got the idea off Eyetoy. I still have that game.

I'll admit that I really like Kinect Adventures, and the fitness games for the Kinect are pretty cool (though I don't have any of them, I might get one for my mom), and that it looks pretty damn nice, but really the only feature I regularly use is the voice control, which honestly could be done with any microphone or headset, if Microsoft didn't just want people to shell out for the Kinect. For games, though, I far prefer the Move, especially with the Sharpshooter. It's incredibly precise.

Correct, but because EyeToy (and PSEye) is basically a webcam, it can only track people in 2D. Kinect took the EyeToy concept and enhanced it to 3D, just as PSMove took the Wiimote concept and enhanced it with greater overall precision.

ps: the ps3 cam alone dose everything the Kinect dose just smaller. If I had any say-so at sony id tell them to start selling slip covers for the controller to make it look like a sword like how they have gun mods for it.

I have both and the Move has much more potential than kinect. More precise, no delay, and actually holding something makes games more immersive.

Its the same price, it's also a better value if you consider the blu ray, and free online.

In my personal experience, both have pluses and minuses. PS move is always precise, and response time is faster then on Kinect. Kinect had problems with lag spikes. But it's not the question which one is better. If you are a real gamer, buy both XBox and PS3. :D

all i can say is both have there ups and downs. ps3 time crises works like Wii you use onscreen crosshair instead of gun, the kinect is more camera is the tv, so your more feeling downwards at the camera instead of forwards at tv. but both are good but you do need to be holding something or it not really realistic is it, but it is cool being able to control things with out holding anything like "Tony Stark"

the kinect is not accurate the guy said there aren't as many games that show what the move can do but what about the kinect i played that kinect sports and i tried to do one of those arm waves but on the screen it looked like i was a having a sezure

Actually it wasn't. Sony's Richard Marks investigated object interaction using webcams, such as with balls and wands, where the webcam did ALL the work but wasn't good enough for gaming. Some of that tech ended up in Move (ball tracking). It wasn't until they saw the Wiimote that they had the solution, instead of making the webcam do all the work, put the motion tracking into a wand device with buttons, hence Move started in 2008. Google search "Nintendo Gyration 2001" for how the Wii began.

The Move actually has Practical use and is enjoyable to use when I'm playing Dust 514 or Resistance 3. The Kinect is a gimmick at best. Something you might bring out once at a party and never use again. It suffered with terrible latency, bad microphone, over priced and only worked in certain environments.

i got my tv in my wall and my computer in a desk and my xbox next by my computer but im using my xbox and i feel like checking my face book why would i turn it off just to use the computer and check my face book? is things that are simple i dont need a keyboard and all those things when i use my xbox

If you want a wii with extremely badass graphics you may buy move, and if you want a interactive experience (specialy for dancing games) your choice is kinect. Both are great, but the concept of kinect looks more interesting to me.

The technology going in to the playstation move is the same as it was when they were developing it with the webcam. The weird looking balls on the end are actually the same concept as they were back in 2001. The only thing the move "stole" from Nintendo was the gyration technology inside the controller. Sony's idea for the ps move was scrapped after the eye toy flopped, and they thought motion control gaming was shit, until the wii came around.

With what game, lol? The majority of those motion games are either Exclusive to that platform or to consoles, also I seen videos on youtube of hackers re-coding games like skyrim and others, but the response time is always bad and glitchy xD. The average PC player wouldn't be able to use those motion controlls(bringing up hacks is a terrible excuse) plus, the Exclusive games are the ones that take full potential of the Motion control's. And may others things I couldn't fit in this box
