Never seen a promotional video from any company big or small, being created with such taste and artistic vision. I forgot that the vidoe was about Fujifilm X100VI. It was truely a documantary full of feelings. The art of creator was to add the camera to this perfect masterpiece, in a way that is not too much and not too little. Congratulation to the producer, director, dp and other crew involved in making this video. Thank you for the great experience. 😊

Well said! Fuji does such a wonderful job of understanding their customer base and speaking to them. Their X-100V promo with Zach Arias is very similar in approach. The X-100 series reminds me of when I truly fell in love with photography. I had a fixed lens rangefinder camera I bought second hand when I was 14. I feel closest to photography when using a simple kit.

Actually it's promoting a new camera. The intro is beautiful indeed, then they started to speak about the camera with the royalty free music and stuff ...and THAT was very promotional :)

Came here expecting hype for the new Fuji. Found 17 beautiful minutes. Great job.

This has to be one the best Fujifilm promos I have seen for the X100 series. Celebrating a legend like Sam Abell, discussing his vision, that's what inspires one to buy the right camera!

What a gift to return to those moments and meet the families and subjects of those pictures. Wow.

The Monk moment before this movie reaches the end is very touching and surprising. Fuji, you are OK!

“Bringing people together around a common humanity” is at least as important in this moment as it ever has been, and this wonderful film is a testament to that. This film gives one chills, brings one to tears, and beautifully showcases the human design ethic underlying the X100 series. I was deeply moved by early photos and articles about Sam Abel’s work and technique, and I remember one photo in particular of him, crouched down, simple camera in hand, conversing with his subject somewhere in Africa. As he mentioned here, the classic, clean lines of a 35mm size camera makes for a great tool and companion. It certainly evokes wonderful nostalgia for oldies like me. Kudos, Fujifilm.

I was walking past a video crew having lunch, with my XT-4 strapped around my neck, and one of the professionals said, "Ah....a Fuji guy..." and waived. In my case, guilty as charged.

Mr Abell, was able to express his photography with words in this video...that is a skill a trait that is slipping today, yes this was a promo for the 100VI, but oh you made it so much more. Thank you to all that inspired us to achieve more in our walk through life with our camera in hand.

Man... sometimes KZread recommendations just get it right. I've been eagerly following the release of the new #Fujifilm X100VI, but I would have never imagined almost being brought to tears watching a "camera promo" video. 🤩🤗📷🤝🏻

I saw him speak at Fujikina in New York a few years ago, and this video wonderfully reflects his ability to talk about photography in way that provokes thought the art of taking pictures, but also on the act of living itself. Really valued his words, both then and now.

I saw Mr. Abell give a presentation at the last big Fujifilm event in NYC. Full of insight and thoughtfulness... a great teacher.

About 20 years ago a book on Sam's photography found its way to me, I was in highschool. Since then I've gone to school for photography, graduated with a bfa, and then quit the art. now here I am 20 years later, getting inspired once again by Sam and his photography. Maybe this time I'll make a go of it.

I ve never thought i would cry watching a promotional video. I will save to buy one of these camera, wonderful work of art. Thank u Fujifilm

It’s so beautiful and inspiring to see how photography can have such an impact on the way we perceive life. Seeing talent like Sam that truly immerse themselves in the craft makes me want to capture every little moment and try to see the beauty in everything. Take nothing for granted because tomorrow is not promised and long after we go, our photos will continue to tell our stories.

This video, in my opinion, isn't so much about a camera, but more so a story about the incredible contributions of Sam Abell to both photography and humanity. Before today, embarrassingly I had little awareness of Mr. Abell, however I feel I've been gifted to "get to know" him through the photography of Fujifilm. It's hard to imagine the personal value the photos Mr. Abell took and shared were to the family members, generations later. And, to photograph the monk so many years later had to be an unimaginable experience for both of them. Thank you Fuji for creating such an inspirational video. Lastly, it was stated during the Summit that yesterday was Mr. Abell's birthday. So, sir, if you're reading this I hope you had an incredible day! You certainly deserve it.

Thank you for Sam-san! I had completely forgotten about "waiting" in the hectic hustle and bustle, so this was a great story that brought back vivid memories of my time living in Hagi.

This was simply stunning. What a wonderful 17 minutes of wisdom and story telling. Bravo Fujifilm.

Wow. Just... wow. A photographer essay orchestrated to introduce a new iteration of an amazing camera should not also shoulder the responsibility of reminding why it is a worthy pursuit to put a camera to the eye (while simultaneously bringing a tear or two), but this tribute to Sam Abell delivers on all counts. The "photographic life" indeed. I look forward to having the VI in my hands as soon as possible.

What a beautiful film in conversation, scenery and cinematography. It was truly inspiring to hear Sam speak but also to hear from the descendants of the woman and potter. This film showed what photography can mean to the photographer themself, a subject such as the monk and then people who were not involved in the image making at all. Sure, we see the X100VI and realize that this film relates to it's introduction but it was not the star of the film. The team that put this together is to be commended.

This was such a treat, I ended up with tears in my eyes. What a beautiful promotional video.

This video doesn't sell Fuji VI but it sells the emotion and photography. It's rare to see video like this on youtube where all we find is talking about megapixels and specifications.

God, I love Sam Abell.

In this tale, we delve into the life of a man who employs an efficient tool, but it is also the story of a man who truly lives! His photographic spirit shines through as he adeptly positions himself in an instant upon noticing something intriguing. There are also delightful nuances, such as using his hat as a lens hood 😁 Also... composing and waiting, something that may seem easy today, but he was a real hero to do it with an analog film camera. Great!

This video not only inspired me purchase this camera, but it inspired me to take steps to create a life I want. I think technology has scared me away from pursuing my ambitions as a photographer because the editing process is intimidating. Knowing I can feel comfortable and confident taking photos that are both simple and stunning with minimal editing makes me find joy in photography again.
