    Amazing, you elaborated on everything and I’ve been learning about instruments lately and the FMC really discouraged me to keep learning because when I tried finding ways to do it I never saw this video and NO ONE explained it as thorough as you. You really helped me in every way possible and I really appreciate it!

    I was lost without you! Stooped so low I gave up on the Zebo and was flying my Challenger 300 with a GTN750, but this excellent video of yours is detailed enough and paced so well, I can follow - until I realized I was lined up on 28R instead of 10L and instead of taxiing to the proper departure I did a Change Location and Start a New Flight and DOH all gone. No matter. Stuck home during the COVID-19 times and now I get another chance to follow along. Thanks for all you do. Great, great videos!

    Overall, great video. Just a couple notes since most of us flying the Zibo are looking for 100% realism. 1) Wing tanks must be full prior to adding fuel to the center tank. I know you were in tutorial creation mode, but I want to avoid 737 pilots from making this mistake. This is taken from an actual Boeing 737 Ops Manual. 2)The reserve amount is actually your ALT APT+ FINRES since you are "reserving" the fuel needed to divert. This is confirmed by flightdeck2sim's FMC tutorial. 3) You don't have to manually enter the center of gravity CG or the OAT, just press the softkey and they will auto fill using the info from your MCP and AVITAB weight. 4) The avg wind direction/spd can be found in the Simbrief where you see "TOC" for top of climb. The ISA DEV temp is also listed a line or two below the wind direction/spd and begins with a "P".

    Sim 737 Pilot thanks for the feedback. I agree on the realism aspect. Unfortunately, we’ve found in many forums low time “pilots” jump straight into the Zibo since it’s a fantastic “payware” quality aircraft for free! Care should be exercised when loading fuel as you state. Many may be unaware that loading the fuel in the center tank increases stress loading on the wing spars and support structures. This being the reason why fuel is burned from the wings last. I think sometimes the reserve fuel quantity is often mixed up. Since it’s a “bingo” fuel level, its awareness is extremely important. The alternate fuel is typically designated in flight planning as “alternate fuel” but this may differ among carriers. Part 121 of the US 19 CFR provides further reading for those interested in fuel requirements for air carriers within the US or its territories. I’m sure there is an ICAO version as well, but they are probably very similar. Thanks again for helping grow the knowledge base of the sim community!

The quality of the content and in-depth information provided is such a joy. The best tutorial i watched so far. +1 sub! -one question though, what do we do regarding “unable crz alt” msg?

  • @FlightBrothersFT

    @FlightBrothersFT

    5 жыл бұрын

    @Francis Meceda Thank you for the feedback. 'Unable Crz Alt' can be caused by a few things. If you setup your aircraft and FMC according to simbrief (we have an FMC video and an Airline Flight Planning video on those topics), you can likely clear the warning and ignore it. Here are a few reasons the FMC would warn you: 1- Your trip is short enough there isn't time to reach the cruise altitude you set in the FMC, 2- Your trip includes a step climb, and you have programmed the highest step in the FMC. Typically the aircraft is too heavy to reach its final step right after takeoff, and that is what cues the warning. As long as you program the FMC and MCP to complete each step (as per simbrief), you should be fine.

    That’s an excellent question and unfortunately one we don’t have the answer to off the top of our heads. We don’t often fly repeated routes (since we are no longer part of a VA) but it is possible. In fact, I think there may be a stored folder within XPlane where it holds the company routes. Sorry, to not have an answer to this specific question.

  • @FlightBrothersFT

    @FlightBrothersFT

    2 жыл бұрын

    Sure, your progress page shows your estimated fuel at destination. Look at the current fuel on board as you’re planning the descent. Subtract the amount of fuel you have from the destination from your current fuel load, then adjust the gross weight by that amount. I.E. destination FOB 8.0, current 9.3. Current gross 110. Since we are estimated to burn 1.3, our estimated gross at arrival would be 110-1.3 = 108.7 then the ref flap speeds should recalculate.

    @burcin Under the Settings and Features, Aircraft Config on the AVITAB you can select the units of measurement. That unit does transfer to the FMC, I have confirmed. You may also independently verify by using your preferred unit of measurement, then select the PERF INIT page on the FMC, and change it on your AVITAB. It will alter the reading between Kg and Lbs on the FMC and also change related measurements on the EICAS. Thanks for your feedback and we at FBFT hope this helps! Cheers!

    Goalieno1 not sure about the gate. It isn’t necessary information and we rarely set it. Sometimes XPLANE may show a gate as “gate 27”, but in the real world it may be “C14”. Not sure if this results in the error or not. I haven’t researched this, so if the airport exists in the game and its code is the same, ESSA (didn’t have a code change for any reason), I would expect, like you, to see it. The initial cruise altitude setup is shown during the setup procedure in this video. The only time you might need to mess with the cruise page is if you are doing a step climb enroute (for example, the trip starts at FL320, but later climbs to FL360). When you reach the waypoint planned for the step climb, reset the MCP altitude to the new target and change it in the cruise page. The descent operations are handled in a separate video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYGKlKV6gL3gqbg.html Let us know if you have further questions.

Neither of us install Zibo Betas, usually waiting until a full release comes out. We also update periodically so our Zibos get “generational” advances. We do not update every release that comes out. Our route was created by Simbrief.com, and mimics the real United route. We strongly recommend Simbrief, but you can also make your own routes by looking at the charts (another use for Skyvector) or simply copy and paste a route from a real flight on Flightaware. I hope that helps. If not, keep the questions coming!
