same.. The dealers said my keys were going to cost $500.. which is just insane to me. I've already made duplicate IMMO keys for three cars now-- so there's a $1500 value- I already doubled my money. It really feels like you're peaking behind the curtain with one of these things-- I've been fixing cars completely blind all my life. lol

That D8 also comes in Bluetooth version that's wireless. I got mine on Amazon on sale with a discount code from one of the repair KZread channels. I paid $547 including taxes for the wired and am excited to see what I can do with this. It also comes with free three years of updates.

I purchased the Xtool D8 several months ago, but just started to use it more and found while looking at freeze frame data from a 2013 Nissan Frontier, there are PIDs with data displayed that are named Option 1, Option 2 thru Option 8. Not sure what these PIDs are for so I contacted the Xtool help email and after an exhausting 4 days back and forth they say they are not sure to contact S4 Shop. This is really messed up when the Manufacturer dosent know about their own product. Buyer beware.

You're wrong.. the D8 is much better at keys and pulling codes for keys. Also, I'd rather have a topdon phoenix or a thinktool over the autel... Autel is good and it was earlier, but these other brands have caught up, and they're much cheaper.

I bought it thinking that it would work well for my 98 and 2002 Mercedes Benzes, NOPE the only function that works for those cars is through the OBD11 function, every other test fails to read the ECU

I have access to an autel scan tool but find it to be very slow, would you consider this to be an upgrade for the most part(other than corded)? Also do you think the wireless model would be slower than the corded model?

Wireless is ALWAYS slower vs corded period! It’s the same with WiFi. Running a CAT6 cable will always trounce a WiFi signal. No way around that. Where wireless shines is portability

There is an xtool D8-bt (blue tooth), that you can get also. I myself got the wired D8, because it's faster and over $100 cheaper. You can just get a 10ft extension cord and still reach everywhere on the car that you need to. Scanner Danner and I talked in the chat about one of the downfalls of the D8, and that is: It's not very responsive with live data--- for example, when I press the accelerator pedal, it takes almost a full second for it to show up on the live data pid.. and the refresh rate is kinda slow also, when graphing things.. Also, as I was graphing the accelerator pid, if I scrolled up or down to look at other pids-- while still pressing the pedal to see if it would continue to track/ graph the data while it was off-screen--- it would sometimes get overloaded and have blank spots on the graph (again, of the accelerator pedal, as I press it over and over randomly). So if you try to multitask too quickly, it struggles to keep up; but otherwise, I love this thing-- it seems to have a lot more bi-directional functions than most other scanners and gives access to the special little details/ options such as turning off your seatbelt buzzer or the auto-locking door as you put it in gear and take off rolling, ect. Which I hadn't seen on other scanners.

@@ahmadghosheh3104 It's slower anyway. I can see the appeal, but an extension cord is not hard to deal with. It's just as easy.... but honestly-- You should skip the D8 and get a Topdon Phoenix $900, or a Thinktool for a little more.. They both have much better graphing abilities.

I'm hearing a lot of 0 support from the company on this tool, and also the data downloading is slow and it doesn't recognize a lot of vehicles. I think the verdict is still out on this one.
