X-Particles Tutorial - Volume Noise

Фильм және анимация

In this X-Particles and Cinema 4D tutorial, we'll use xpInfectio to generate particles and drive a vertex map. We'll also look at one of the new features of the latest Cycles 4D release: The ability to animate volume noise.

Man thank you! This tutorial is giving me insane amounts of value. I'm trying to do a simple reveal effect where my 3d model starts invisible but appears on screen via the infected particles of xpinfectio. I couldn't figure out how to get the vertex map to work with x-particles or how to go about creating the effect. This tutorial helped me understand how to generate the vertex maps. Initially i tried to use the xpinfectio vertex map to drive the PolyFX effector to make my geometry appear on screen. Then I ditched the PolyFX and decided to use the Volume Builder with my xpinfectio vertex map instead. The volume builder allows you to get smoother edges while your model is being painted on screen. Or at least that's how it appears. Thank you!

  • @TheArtOfThom

As I said, good tutorial. Anyone wondering about using Redshift, as I was, the conversion is actually very easy. Cycles functions a lot like Redshift. Basically almost the same nodes and connections. The vertex attribute is the only difference for driving the alpha on the outer crust. Blending materials are also slightly different but if you follow along you can figure it out. Bottom line: I was able to create this effect with Redshift.
