INSYDIUM Training - xpOcean

Фильм және анимация

** Please note: This tutorial was created using the X-Particles Beta Access (April 2020). Therefore, some elements may differ from the final release. - Thanks
This tutorial is a quick guide to the new xpOcean Generator. We'll show you how to create realistic ocean surfaces by taking you through some basic settings. We’ll control such things as, wave height, choppiness, wind speed and direction. We use a Deformer to create planes to extend and replicate your ocean. We’ll also generate a foam map to make your scene even more convincing.
To finish, we set up a complete scene, by blending the maps with an interactive object using xpVertexMap to make a wake map.
This video was recorded on a computer with the following specs: Processor i9 - 9900X @3.50GHZ 64GB Ram, 2 x 2080GTX

Good introduction to the use of this new xpOcean object. Now we have to know how to adapt it to Redshift. Good work. Thank you.

it's a vertex map, every rendering engine on the market loads veretx maps. You should prob look into RS tutorials how to use vertex maps.

It's actually just similar to the HOT4D plugin. Check this out to make things float kzread.info/dash/bejne/n5apuLmHf7jNf5M.html

To simulate the buoyancy of an object on an animated surface, it must be possible to adapt the ingenious technique created by Chris Schmidt in his video kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6yWpMhwedatirA.html&feature=emb_logo.

as long as it's a legit poly object - you can add two nulls, one above the ocean, one below the ocean, with their Global positions plugged into a RayCollision node. That would output a live surface position - plug that into another Null's Global Position and parent your floating object to that null. Group those raycasting nulls and animate the group on the XZ plane and you can have moving objects that float.

That's intersting but is there any way to add collision interactivity as the vertexmap does between the waves and the sphere object ?

This is exactly what I was thinking. Floating sphere object is useless unless it collide with the waves. Using sphere's vertex map as additional displacement to Tessendorf may be the solution. Or there is an easier way, who knows.

I don't see any change when activating foam map. I don't get any red color on my object and changing the values doesn't do anything. Any. Idea why?
