This game deserved a sequel game with more X-Men villains.

It was a good idea to turn it into a Marvel crossover. The only problem is that the Marvel cps2 games, MSH, XvSF, MvSF, MvC1, couldn't have a big roster (like SFA3) so there wasn't enough room to make more brand new additions to the roster. Those games mostly cycled existing characters and added 1-2 new Marvel chars. Then only in MvC2, that ran in a new hardware, there was a room for a big roster, but at that time Capcom was basically done with fgs and wouldn't invest in many brand new 2d sprites. Plus maybe it wasn't really possible because at the same time they were working hard to make brand new sprites for CvS games. Maybe there wasn't 2d talents left for MvC2.

Magneto knows how to make an entrance. I like how he slowly floats down from his throne. Wow the animation on Spiral's limbs are amazing. Storm's music track is the best.

Must've taken the sprite artists tons of time to animate Spiral!

Weirdly, these sprites seem more detailed than the ones in later Capcom's Marvel games

They don't seem... They are. MvC2 sprites are nerfed, probably as condition to fit so many chars in the game. Not to mention it has less stages and less songs. These early Marvel games only have 10-15 chars each game if I remember well.

The game was slower and the characters bigger, they have more detail and frames of animation to accommodate that. Later MvC games would be not only way faster, but the characters in general were smaller. So they cut a lot of frames of animation to fit the faster game, and the characters had less detail because you simply wouldn't be able to see them.

Storm’s “Ice Storm” can destroy a large portion of the opponent’s health bar. The chip damage is also good!

The over the top action and mind blowing visuals make this a classic.

Love Xmen. I hope we get more X-men games in the future.

Not to mention in Super Turbo if you play as Akuma, he didn’t have the Raging Demon either.

Magento really felt lke you were fighting against a SNK boss because all he did was spam his air purple fireballs and that purple forcefiled. I kept tornado claw him in the corner to beat him with wolverine and did the same with Cyclops with his Dragon punch move.

Spiral is such a random character to throw in there but I appreciate it

Remember when Marvel vs Capcom games used to have long complicated input to perform a taunt?

Great! And even better when I enjoyed the pos battle chat soundtrack ❤

Both the arcade fighting game and the Super Nintendo beat 'em up have a great soundtrack that reminds me of the megaman X themes, I always love playing with Omega Red and Silver Samurai, they are my favorite X-MEN characters. 💙💙😎😎❤❤.

Yeah X-Men COTA and MSH musical style reminds a lot of SNES MMX games. That influence started slowly disappearing later.

Too bad Akuma is nerfed here.

Kinda sad that they downgraded the Marvel characters' animation in the VS. series just to match the characters recycled from Street Fighter Alpha, which has fewer frames of animation.

So you're not gonna show Colossus Super Armor or Juggs strength increase? OR Iceman's Ice Fist or Psylocke's Ninja Clones? Or Silver Samurai's Elemental Sword abitles? or Wolverine's Super SPeed or healing? or Magneto's Shield???All of these consume Super Meter so they are Hyper X Moves in a sense. Instead.. you do show most super moves 2 times to increase the length of the video.
