I also interpreted it as him having his "life flashing before your eyes before you die" moment. He went back to his childhood and got "defaulted" to using his mother tongue. Incredibly touching and heartbreaking episode.

E.X.A.C.T.L.Y. Pause at 1:15. From epidsode 1, we know that *any sentinel* , not just the Master Mold, can detect an Omega Level mutant. Since they all went haywire when Storm entered the battle. So, earlier in this episode all the robots treated Magneto as just another mutant. Otherwise, they would have concentrated on him *from the start* . We are never shown what sentinel reaction to Leech, eyepatch woman, rainbowhair or beancap man, is, *until now* . Any of the four could be *Omega level* . This is the big twist here. 😮

In the last seconds before his death, he stopped being the mighty master of magnatism, and he became Eric lensheer, the little German ashkenazi boy crying for his mother while she was being driven into the concentration camps and she yelling to him "Dont be Afraid"

Magneto was not only the leader of the X-Men but also the main character so he's gotta survive. He not only reinforced his powerful barrier but he also had 4 Morlocks with him as well. If any of the blast somehow got thru Magneto's Barrier, Erg could've helped absorbing that blast with his power and Leech could help depower the blast as well with his power.

@@cda133 Leech didn't drain him of his power, he was fully able to control it(said so himself in the old series). This however is Magneto trying his absolute best to keep him,the rest of the Morlocks along with Rouge & Gambit to keep them safe.

Such a nice starting episode, took such a dark turn. As someone who lives on the island over Oahu, this episode reminded me a lot about the fire on Maui.

This emotional power of this episode is insane.

The way it zoomed in on the green mutant after saying "omega level threat detected" feels like foreshadowing

The episode started out very vibrant and happy with a few emotional scenes, but then it descended into chaos, despair, and death for a lot of main and supporting characters.

Unless you see a body , or him get disintegrated , or a flatline That be it too that time travel is a big thing in X-Men Magneto is fine or will be fine depending on the route they take

You did see how The Sentinel blast disintegrated some people in that scene right! Just because you don't see a body dosn't always implies the person(s) is still alive. This fake out troupe has been done before multiple times.

Yoo this show has been fire. Magneto and Storm are huge standouts and Gambit in episode 5.

Say what you want about him but he truly loves his people

His mutant ability is to negate all mutant powers within a ten-yard radius, so he must've learned to control his powers considering Magneto was still able to go ham.

Unbelievable how this episode ended! Next-level animation storytelling.

I have a dark feeling that Magneto dropped his forcefield so that he and other mutants would die faster to not feel pain.

Episode 5 "Remember It" was both exhilarating and then deeply saddening. My eyes swelled with tears when viewing the ending! 😢

Even right after the moment when Magneto by the Wild Sentinel Rouge burst out crying charging towards it, she still have feelings for him even tho she realized she want to be back with Gambit.

Magneto went out like a man.

Fact one Charles Xavier isn't destroyed. Type 2 there's other four mutants are paraphrasing enough still saved Magneto. The one nullifies all energy foreign and domestic. The other one exurbs energy and stores it. The other one can disguise and become a stain has anything. And the other one is super strong they can transform into nearly anything. All four of them have survived multiple destructions. I think Magneto is safe.

I know he isnt dead, nor Gambit, this is based on comic books after all, but damn wasnt this episode dreadful.

magneto done came a long way in this whole show

When you're the most powerful mutant in existence but plot has to happen

And like that, this became my favorite Magneto. To imagine I would feel hyped about Disney Marvel once more. I am convinced that animation is literally the way for both Star Wars and Marvel, for both franchises the animated shows have been (barring stuff like Andor) superior to the live action shows.

I refuse to believe Magneto went out like that! He might've created an escape route with the help of the morlocks and will surprise us in the future episodes!

The fact that leech's powers is to well leech powers and weaken mutants kinda shows the level of maturity of eric willing to weaken him self to save others.

Leech is BOOSTING his powers. He can negate or boost. That's why Mags was clocked as Omega while Leech touches him.

Sooooooo this is probably going to be a dumb question. Buuuutt why couldn't Magneto actually defeat Master Mold?? And no dis to Gambit's heroic sacrifice 😌 but how is it that Magnus wasn't powerful enough to take down MM himself. The thing is made almost entire of metal. And isn't MM much smaller than Asteroid M? How was Magnus able to hover and move Asteroid M around with relative ease but not levitate MM in a similar manner and eject it into space? I'm legit just curious.

More like Anti- Villain. Ever since they firmly established his backstory as a Holocaust survivor. Some writers have tried make him an outright villain but Chris Clairmont's run of X-Men in the 80s established the definitive rendition of Magneto

Because a) these stories aren't all about power levels and b) Leech is huddled close to Magneto. Leech's power is dampening the powers of other mutants. The show is among the best material Marvel has produced. Born Again, The Dark Pheonix, This Man This Monster, Death of Gwen Stacy, stand head and shoulders level with this.
