Notice how when Sinister berates him , Bastion's response is to give him a dry, smug - yet self-assured laugh . Normally, it would be Sinister smugly gloating about his plans to an enemy, and yet, in this scene, the roles are reversed. I also love the scowl, Sinister gives Bastion . You get the impression that Sinister's partnership with Bastion is a mutually beneficial one at best , but a reluctant one at that , and that Bastion's getting under his skin .

Probably because Bastion is a cold blooded calculated psychopath, a hybrid between human and machine who unhinged. Whereas, Sinister the sociopath is more reserved and has some limits, often impulsive as shown here asking why Bastion didn't take out the X-Men with the Prime Sentinel Trask when he had the chance, not realising Trask was a test run.

They really did an amazing job bringing back this show. This show is hands down the best thing Marvel has done so far. This show blows the MCU out of the water. Only 7 episode in!!!!

Is weird how Theo James voices Bastion, it's creepy, eerie, and intimidating.

@@Ahov29 onslaught is Charles Xavier and magneto combined, it’s not that hard to make it happen the only thing needed trigger transformation is Professor X going into deep depression and hatred towards Magneto. It will force his psyche to go screwy and magneto will be hit by it and thus combing both of them to become Onslaught. In case anyone wondering yes he is more powerful than Apocalypse or Juggernaut. He is considered the top 5 strongest Mutant villain

This show is amazing like how there using the characters to complement eachother is quite genius. Like i love how there using sinister as a key piece to the future. Cable omg what a bad ass character like i look forward to watching this show every week

The world thinks he was murdered so if they find out he is alive and now an emperor of an alien empire, the public will be outraged because his “death” sparked improved relations and sympathy for mutants. If the lie comes out, humanity will feel betrayed and scared that the mutants now have an alien army which will cause much more tension

While we IRL may know that Charles is no longer with Lilandra & her empire and is returning to Earth alone in response to the massacre on Genosha, but as soon as that footage gets out to the in-universe humanity, most of them are only going to see a traitorous & deceiving mutant who not only had his survival covered up by the X-Men, but who’s also now the emperor of a alien empire that could suddenly decide to invade Earth and place it under mutant rule at anytime. Which would be exactly what Bastion and his new “evolved” Sentinels would want, to fully reignite mankind’s hatred of mutants for his own plans.

I don't know why of him keeping Magneto in a barbershop was so funny 😂😂😂.

Guess the next episode will see Erik escape and reunited with the X-men at the end. And maybe Charles as well.

I gotta admit I love the surprised twist Mastermold attack on Genosa I believe Trask behind but Sinster was behind the attack then Sinster did it he working for Bastion who is truly behind the attack just love it how it's relieved Villian working for Villian working for Big Villian

If Bastion has his comic book backstory (and I’m pretty sure he does), that would be a pretty cool meta reflection of the show itself: the original 90s cartoon having evolved into a new form for modern audiences, X-Men ‘97, the same way Nimrod and Mastermold, two classic villains from the 90s, have evolved into Bastion.

@@trueblue6201 I know now. It was funny when this aired though. I was watching both shows back to back because they premiered at the same time. So I was like, Oh man, no one on any show is safe from this guy. But yeah, you can hear the difference more clearly later on.

I'm going to take a wld guess and say that isn't Magneto but his clone Joseph and the real Magneto will be revealed to have survived and return as a villain again. I'm only theorizing mainly because whenever Sinister is involved there are always clones. Also noticed the line "you were born for this.

I’m say it now. Theo James is one of the best voice actors ever. I had no idea it was him but this deliverance stands out in an already excellent show.

Don't know why but this scene reminds me of something from Todd McFarlane's Spawn on HBO back in the 90's.

never watched the OG show & I only know surface level comic character’s so when I tell y’all this scene was very chilling/disturbing to see how he had magneto like that along with his delivery talking about 92’ lol all of it was 10/10

I think it will be they will likely have Magneto seemingly rescued, only for it to turn out to be bastion physically wearing magneto's face, which then gives us the reveal of the real magneto wearing an metal mask to conceal his removed face. magneto then escapes and returning back to the xmen for healing.
