So the scene where Gambit sees Rogue and Magneto holding eachother is actually an Easter Egg to the cover of Uncanny X-Men 274 when Magneto and Rogue where stuck in the Savage Land together. This was during the period where Magneto had been headmaster, but they were starting to plant the seeds to make him a villain again.

Worth noting, Gambit’s vision of Mags and Rogue wasn’t a Louisiana Swamp as much as a callback to the period where the two were in the Savage Land after the matter’s travels through the Seige Perilous.

I understand what you are feeling. I am a father of 2. Ever since I became a dad I too get emotional when I see moments involving loosing or leaving a child in movies or tv shows. I nearly break down and cry. It's one of the most beautiful thing of being a father.

Those scenes of Nathan struggling to breathe in the infirmary and when Madelyn had to say goodbye to him before Bishop took him through the portal were hard to watch. I don't have any kids, but there are some whom I've known since they were born and I can't even imagine going through that with them.
