Sadly in the comics they aren't, it is what it is. But this is their own thing, here they are mutants and Magneto´s children I don´t know why declare otherwise, like you said that whas a BS move for financial reasons, now in the past.

Taking in account Quicksilver looks like Magneto I don't fancy that thing about not being related anymore

I will always consider Wanda and Pietro both mutants and Magneto’s children. The only reason their origins were changed were because Marvel wanted to use the characters in their movies when Fox still had the rights to the mutants, and because in general, they were just being spiteful, trying to phase the X-Men comics line itself out. … Wanda and Pietro are mutants. Wanda and Pietro are Magneto’s children. I will die alone on this hill.

I've partially accepted their retcon as non-mutants, but I also thought up ways Marvel can reverse the retcon for Quicksilver and make it even better for Scarlet Witch.

⁠@@bajansamurai For the comics, I have no clue. But Wanda and Pietro’s parents and their origins have been changed four times or so at this point. So I have no doubt that it can be easily changed again. For the MCU, it’s very simple. Simply state that the only reason they survived the experiments performed on them with the infinity stone (where every other test subject died) is because both were mutants all along.

Bastion didn't throw himself into the gravity well. It looked like he was trying to jump to safety with the X-Men but was pulled into the gravity well

Thank you! I saw a couple of channels saying he died intentionally. I couldn't disagree more. The fact that he scoffs at Cyclops telling him to grab on, in my interpretation, is him kind of laughing to himself that in the end, he is about to accept help from the people he hated the most because they caught him off guard by acting in a way he didn't predict. I suppose you could say that he may have been trying to attack them by lunging at them with his hand outstretched, but I don't buy that either. I think he was trying to accept Scott's offer to let them save him, but simply wasn't quick enough. I was genuinely surprised when I saw people on KZread saying he either allowed the gravity core to kill him or wanted it to. I could be wrong, but yeah... I'm with ya.

Kang did appear in the original X-Men series in a multi-part episode called "Beyond Good and Evil' where Apocalypse was kidnapping psychics. He appeared as a character called Bender who later revealed himself as Immortus, which is Kang from a different time period.

Considering Wanda and pierro was retcon’ed again not to be magnetos children because of the MCU, there is no reason they can’t retcon in back. Those weee some of the best stories

I liked when they opened the Magneto Protocol he’s also known as Erik lehnsherr, David Hemblen, Ian M and Michael F… This show does so many little cool things

I wish they would have did Storm right especially after she got her powers back they should have shown why she is an Omega level and they didn't had potholes in the beginning when it came on and when they were showing where everybody had ended up show Storm she was there as well she kept getting sidelined when is a Goddess level mutant and don't like they be Nerfing her but it was an okay season after all.

I believe the show-runner confirmed that Wanda and Pietro being listed as "off world" was related to them being involved with the Kree/Skrull War. I could be wrong about that, though.

Kinda arrogant to think that you are the only one to notice the hinted gay Morph stuff. I'll do you one and stretch it even more for you; the little alleged gay hints are also a callback to thr beginning of the Krakoa era when there was (in the eyes of lames that want to create something out of nothing) some ambitiously gay activities being hinted in a love triangle between Scott, Jean, and Logan. For the record there was no gay activity but weirdos who don't really comic wanted there too be.

I think the Star Trek tie in is more of an “Easter egg” Mother Askani is voiced by Gated McFadden.

I think it’s time to accept that Jean letting her hair down once in a while doesn’t imply that it’s Madelyne. Especially since Logan has only had feelings for Jean. So in that scene, Morph turned into Jean not Madelyne since she’s dead and no longer relevant. Jean with a ponytail or not… is Jean.

I didnt get the T'Chaka part cos if this is in the same continuity as thr Marvel Power Hour, T'Challa met the FF already ... And he was voiced by Keith David which is ALWAYS a win

Dude I just realized this. At the end of The X-Men episode "Beyond Good and Evil (Part 4)" at the end of the episode Bender reveals himself to be Immortus aka KANG THE CONQUERER! Back in the day everyone was probably like, "Who the hell is this guy?" But this connection makes sense.

Other heros outside of mutants have been lacklustre when it comes to mutant rights. Yes, sometimes they help in short. But overall, they often neglect mutants against facist human groups. It's something i never understood, especially when it came to Captain America. He fought literally nazi's but didn't fully fight the extreme nazis in the current time. This is why i love Magneto. Yes, he is an anti-hero. I totally understand why he's mutant first.

I think out of universe it's because those comics don't often mix together so they're trying to keep them from colliding too much. Though, you make a point. And maybe one day we might get an in-universe explanation. Though I doubt it.

Just came to comment this as well. The whole “Jean has her hair up and Maddie has her hair down” isn’t a thing. We’ve seen Jean with her hair down since Maddie’s death. For example, when they were fighting Trask Jean had her hair down.

Going into season 2, when they continue the story of the x-men characters in the past, I would like to see a cameo of Kang The Conqueror, Rama-Tut.

Kwannon, not Kannon or whatever you said. Also, Spider-Man TAS began in 1994 and ran through 1998. X-Men 97 takes place in (you guessed it) 1997. Mary Jane being there doesn't mean Peter found her. It means she didn't disappear yet. I'm pretty sure that's intentional.

That's not ANY Of the characters from the MCU version of Black Panther. It's the 90s, most of those characters would be children/ teenagers. This would have been around the time T'Chakka killed his brother and started killmonger down that path.

Clearly season 2 was made for me in particular because ever since 2010 I've been pissed I never got season 2 and Apocalypse in Wolverine and the X-men

In particular when they were fighting Trask Jean had her hair down. Morph was not morphing into Maddie, he was morphing into Jean. People are reading into things too much and creating false rules, that we know definitively aren’t actually true.

I think the cause & effect part that Beau DeMayo was talking about has to do with how the X-Men were sent throughout time. Bastion rips off Cable's arm during their fight (which is what houses the technology that allows Cable to body slide/time travel) & absorbs it within himself along with the techno organic virus. It could be that Bastion's death randomly causes the X-Men in the asteroid to be sent throughout time or that Bastion himself, moments before death, willingly does it as he does actually reach his arm out to try & be saved when Cyclops tells him to grab his hand before seemingly being destroyed by the Magneto Protocol missiles.

I was thinking Bastion did it at first, but after rewatch he looks legit scared for his life and despite his tough talk is reaching out to try and be saved moments before so my conclusion is just to use Occams Razor and when there is time travel shenanigans, with Cable, Bishop and Bastion already off the board, it must be Kang whose working with Apocalypse or vice versa.

This has been the best series by far since Endgame. Really satisfied with the content. Excellent job Marvel👍🏾👍🏾

Also don’t you think we’ll see some feral Wolverine shenanigans next season? Maybe some weapon plus tomfoolery? Canadian super team hijinx? Cyber escapades?! *oop you answered literally all of these things, I was too excited ** and iceman finna be gay as hell GIT RETTY!! ***I think an onslaught arc would come after more of the non mutant heroes have had a time to shine either in their own series’ or after more on screen time via cameos. Reason being, as I know you know, their sacrifice at the the resolution of that arc in the comics was a big, universe altering moment. It could even be used to conclude this era or this version of this animated universe(!!)

Now the showrunner who got fired set on Twitter that Peter found Mary Jane, but that’s not adding up where this series with X-Men is in 1997. Peter didn’t find MJ until 1998. So I still think that’s the clone that Miles Warren created that Peter is with. The showrunner can actually revise the whole statement on Twitter so it’s not really a big deal until they decide to do a Spider-Man 98 series.

Onslaught have never made sense too much just too far an abstract concept, they could have maybe made it work by having Xavier try and hijack Bastions mind and making him turn into Onslaught, but the idea of a character coming out of Prof X mind to become a threat in reality is too much a leap, like where did his body come from?

I feel like they all needed a long vacation after being through so much but instead they are right back into another crisis. Just imagine all the PTSD they are going to be suffering.

As somebody who deals with severe C-PTSD, sometimes it’s better to stay in the fight because the PTSD doesn’t kick in until it’s over.

I just want the new voice actor for Apocalypse to nail the twisted perfection of John Colicos.

With so much going on for season 2 are we going to get more than 10 episodes? Can they fit that much with Apocalypse storyline with just ten episodes? They are not going to put everything on the show from the comics but is still going to be a challenge.

Do we know where Wolverine is? I feel like they are sending him with Cyclops and Jean, but I don't think anything is proven. I can just see that as a change they make from the comics. Edit: Since they kind of already made Angel the Death Seed in TAS, and the X-Men went through this whole little arc of trying to save him from that, I imagine Angel might show up to try to get Gambit out of his Role with Apocalypse, and basically rescue him. I think from there they might be able to do an original team story before the finale of season 2.

I want Heroes Reborn... by which I mean relaunching the other 90s shows (not the actual story arc)

Dude! I said that too! I watched the scene and went like "Darn it, Morpho! You had one chance and blew it! Ponytail, Morpho! Ponytail!" 😅 Also, I don't know about Onslaught if he's going to be a thing in next season, they pitched Apocalypse way too hard.

I'd say Onslaught *was* set up all they needed him to be at this stage. We must not forget that it took some time before Xavier started showing signs of "dark side" corruption. The mistake fans made was to think setting up Onslaught meant showing him immediately while the season still had to wrap up Bastion. As the team deals with Apocalypse in the past, present and future, signs of Xavier being a bit evil, and flashbacks to the discussion in Magneto's mindscape will probably occur, and by mid season they'll pronably have the team returned to the present and needing to consider teaming with Apocalypse instead to deal with Onslaught's shenanigans. Good writers know how to phase in the second villain (Bastion) while still dealing with the first (Sinister), so that will likely be the case as Apocalypse gives way to Onslaught. Just like Adversary, Mojo, the X-Cutioner, Deathbird, Purifiers, Gyrich, Trask and Sentinels were second and third tier villains to Sinister and Bastion, a bunch of others will be that for Apoc and Slaw. I can guess at Stryfe, up to 12 Horsemen (maybe 4 in the past, 4 in the present and 4 in the future), some more Deathbird, maybe a return of Sinister, and Rama Tut.

Best xmen TV show ever. Better than the movies. It was like watching a highlight reel of all the best comic book moments

I think people forget that the comics, particularly with Claremont, was big on setting things up for the future

I think the main villain will be Apocalypse for season two but it will end with onslaught coming.

This season was the best marvel content since the Netflix series.

Um, Uncanny Avengers had the Horsemen of Death; Grim Reaper, Sentry, Banshee, and Dakken. Wouldn't it make sense for X-Men '97 to take from this? Banshee was killed in Genosha also. So it could be Gambit, Archangel, Banshee, and (as you alluded) Wolverine?
