They are taking everything from X-men comics history, from Roberto in his original New Mutants uniform, to Asteroid M, all the way to Magneto ripping the adamantium from Wolverine’s bones and body (X-men 25)…this is the series of the YEAR, in my opinion!

Magneto ripping out Wolverine's adamantium bones is something that happens in the comics and looks more brutal in the comics

The ep with Jubilee in the game was basically to teach Jubilee and the viewer to stop holding onto the past and it's time to grow up. For the viewer they are saying, you've enjoyed the nostalgia we've given you so far, well hold on to your seat belts cuz we know you're not kids anymore so, you've grown up and so has this show. Something like that

Magneto loves his people and him not hurting Wolverine in that way before was a mutant courtesy. But Magneto is far past giving Wolverine grace now. It's fight or flight.

The Jubilee Motendo episode was for those who didn't watch the original. It plot dumps all the info you need for this series, including Genosha and Asteroid M. Now all we need is Jubes doing something cool that her future self had taught her. I wanna see her destrocto disk again.

Especially Wolverine since both him and Captain America saved his life when he was in the camps in World War II. Great reaction guys! It's easy to blame this all on Charles but a lot of people on both sides cooked this whole mess up. One character you don't want to become evil is Professor X. His level of telepathy is beyond other characters and more dangerous than many realize. Not even Magneto could stop him. I once read an issue of Exiles years back where an alternate version of Xavier shut down the minds of an entire city within seconds sans cerebro, like it was nothing. He is virtually Omega level without his ethics or conscience. Who knows, maybe we'll get Onslaught in the next season of X-Men!

Everybody who reads comics was watching this waiting to see if they would do the final scene. Incredible they went there.

Disney just puts up the money, lol. They have little to nothing to do with the show internally. Marvel is it's own studio now. And keep in mind Shogun is on Disney+, lol. This is much more of an accomplishment for an X-Men animated series than it is for Disney+.

If Xavier responds the way he does in the comics, then season 2 will be crazy.

All their suits are comic book accurate. The suits they wear in the end are the major ones they wore before the usual ones of the shows. Logan’s yellow suit is his 1st suit in the comics that they brought back in the 90s. Cable’s is one he wore later.

The brown and yellow suit isnt his first, first was actually very similar to his normal blue and yellow but with a normal belt and simplified mask. The brown and yellow was his giant xmen suit and also arguably as iconic as the one he usually wears in the show.

@@jinxie712 Wolverines original Suit was closer to his yellow and black suit they had on the show,, had smaller ears.. a nose and even whiskers . The suit they had on this episode was Jim Lees take on his suit in the 80s-90s.

Another INCREDIBLE episode! I don't want this season to end. Seeing the X-Men in their classic suits was awesome! The writing is top notch, the music is amazing, and the animation/visuals continue to be breathtaking and phenomenal. THAT ENDING!?!??!?! I never knew bringing a comic panel directly from the pages of a comic book on to a TV screen would fill me with so much despair and dread and shock and leave me absolutely flabbergasted. 1000/10 episode this week! I'm SUPER HYPED for the season finale next week!

X-men vol 2 issue 25 is the comic where Magneto rips Wolverines adamantium from his skeleton and we found out for the first time that his claws were bone

Both Wolverine costumes are comic accurate. The yellow with stripes with a few small changes has been the most common costume. The brown and tan was the second costume and has had colour variants of the design.

That image of Wolverine's claws all bloody with Magneto's blood was amazing! One more episode to go and then we gotta wait for season 2!

All of the costumes are from the comics. The ones they wore in this episode are from the 1970s. Wolverine's yellow costume was what he wore in his debut, and he switched back to it in the early '90s. All of the stories are adapted from the comic books as well. The end scene where Wolverine got the adamantium ripped from his body looks almost identical to how it happened in the 1993 story Fatal Attractions.

A point that I make all the time to reactors that if they don't recognize things that wasn't in the things they watched like movies,games or old cartoons then 10 out of 10 times it's probably from the comics which the books are about 60 years old and a lot of lore is pulled from them and the writer didn't just pull it out their butts

This is the first time ever we see Cable actually using his power on TV or film! He can't really use it too much because he's constantly focusing most of it to keep the virus from spreading past his arm. I wonder if it'll spread now... 😭

not really. Reminder: This is mostly Bastions doing. Humanity at large basically had nothing to do with it, heck, humanity is literally getting absorbed by bastion in their grand master plan. They are basically doing what many mutant haters accuse the mutants of: replace humanity. Reminder, human society not only gave Magneto a complete get-out-of-jail-free card for everything he had done until that point (which is insane if you think about it), they accepted Genosha as a sovereign state/country, and overall the protests against mutants did greatly deminish compared to how they were in the earlier seasons. This is just magneto running wild with rage with no-one to really direct it at. He is becoming what he fights against.

@@EnerKaizer That's the problem. The protests didn't "stop", they just got put to stay because Xavier had influence and someone "killed" him on national television. The more "moderate" ones got in the dilemma of looking bad if they publicly spoke about it (so they took to online chatrooms, like Bastion mentioned), the more extreme ones continued to protest and run the operations against mutants, but those were always less in number. Of course I'm not saying ALL of humanity is racist, but let's be honest, even in real world, these people exist in plenty. And I'm not saying what Magneto did was right, I'm just saying it's hard to not side with him because he's seen over and over again how xenophobic people are in general. It's like how Joker said, "in moments of peril, these civilized people would eat each other".

@@FarazKhan-dr5ow Of course there was still anti-mutant sentiment. That doesn't just vanish over night regardless of what happens. But with Eriks actions he basically lowers himself onto the same level as those few people, and, ultimately, proves them right (in a way). Same reason why I think Rogues little stunt at the military base will become an issue in season 2 (which could bring the Avengers into the picture for the shows version of AvX). They sadly have to continue not to retaliate with all their might to slowly bring people together by showing that the fears are non existant. This is sadly not an issue where general sentiment can be completely changed by the flip of a switch, this is a decades long process for future generations.. This is also why I hope that season 2 brings something up that should've happened a long time ago: The X-men accepting non-mutants among their ranks as active members, so they would actually show how co-existence could work. Would also again play perfectly into the avengers showing up if their rosters has Quciksilver and Scarlet witch, considering they were the first mutants accepted into the worlds greatest team of heroes. Before I completely go off on a tangent, the tldr is this: This conflict isn't new. It's Xaviers and Eriks constant issue of both being extreme in their positions with both of them just escalating finally because they cannot find common ground, because both are right in certain points. Mutants still need to be able to defend themselves, but they also cannot act like gods and just turn things around on humanity.

After this happened,, it actually got a lot better because he didn't have to spend resources constantly healing the metal poisoning it was giving him. Although I haven't read the comic where it happens. He'll probably be out for a good chunk of that episode but Magneto did throw away a very easy trump card. Should have taken the whole skeleton out.

Given how powerful Magento is and pro-mutant mentality, it's obvious that he holds back consistently when it comes to the X-men. Despite their different viewpoints, Magnus holds a great deal of respect for the X-men and has for years. He doesn't want to see any of his kind die ultimately. I'm with you in the frustration of Xavier, my issue with him is he'll protect those who have proven countless times to be enemies to mutants more than he does actual mutants. 😔

Professor X is an idealist and have no balance, he actually tried to force Magneto in pain so Cyclops seeing that started to question more since the beginning and STOPS Charles! I mean, it's now or never? He is a pragmatic guy different from Magneto being a cynical with also no balance. So in the end only Scott can lead the X-Men. Wolverine being hurt like that actually happened in the comics but it was soooo much worse because in here Disney probably wouldn't let them make it more violent than already is haha And Wolverine saying those words to Magneto "the brave are always the first to die" is actually what Magneto said to the whole team of X-Men in the OG show when he was almost dead and Charles helped him but led the X-Men to a death trap. So Magneto was left behind looking at them going to war with a sight of respect for them but he eventually went for their help so it was just a dramatic way to show how Erik/Magnus thinks about the X-Men. Also, Achara is actually not that right about Wolverine being okay because his ENTIRE skeleton is covered by adamantium. Even if he heals his body, his entire full structure would not hold in place so he would probably be in some way dead or vegetating state? I won't spoil anything to you haha I don't know because if he comes back Wolverine would be in some SERIOUS shit and so many times his skeleton was intact to somehow come back. Guys this episode made such justice on how I was thinking about those three characters (Cyclops, Charles and Magneto) about how they are so different but only if they work together they can find some solace. The pragmatisms, idealisms and cynicisms are on a battle of Titans. This is peak Marvel! ❤

The costume changes were comic-accurate indeed and such a classic! Also, the cliffhanger part was in fact from one of the best X-Men covers for me "Fatal Attractions"

Another amazing episode!! After today’s episode I’m convinced Jean returns as Phoenix in the final episode. All the hints have been there from constant mentioning of it, to being shown multiple times in the intro, and to Jean dismissing Madelyne powers with small Phoenixes on the astral plane in episode 3. Even Cable seem to have fire like raptor when his powers were activated against Jean. Love seeing how they portray her friendship with Ororo❤️. Sad but not understandable the split with the team after what happened in Genosha. Think most of us saw this but surprised Scott and Hank didn’t side with Erik from their previous comments. Hank I gather changed his tune because of what happened to Trish. From Demayo hint of a certain comic book hinting what happened to Wolverine. Horrifying what Magneto did to him. Can’t wait for the conclusion next week!!

Agreed Jean in the comics she Defeted Bastion using her TK just like Magneto did with Wolverine but if Phoenix show up that will be lit.

wolverine goes back to bone claws, high healing but just bones, he can't block lasers and guns that well anymore.

8:15 Yeah, it's one of Wolverine's other superhero suits. When he was a villian/anti-hero, his first suit was the one you've been seeing throughout the series, except the mask was different when he was battling the Hulk

I think the video game episode did two things. One, it kick-started the romance between Jubilee and Roberto. More importantly, it showed Jubilee the potential of her powers. I don't know if she had considered everything her power could do until she saw her older self do them.

Wolverine's yellow and blue outfit AND brown outfit are both comic-book accurate. It goes back and forth over the years regarding which one he wears, but the yellow and blue uniform was the original Wolverine costume he wore when he made his first appearance in Incredible Hulk #180.

The other day I said to my friend "I really hope they don't rip wolverines adamantium out. That comic hurt me as a kid." Those maniacs did it. I still have the comic fatal attractions. This was just too much.

My nephew is 24, and just texted me the following: "WOLVERINE WHAT JUST HAPPENED???"

Before that time, she had only been alpha, just like the other catch-up omega, Magneto. Rogue is pretty much invulnerable to everything Storm can do. Rogue is also much faster and stronger than Storm. She only needs to hit Storm one time and she's either down or out permanently.

Sadly that's the tragic nature of magneto. He's right in some ways but also very wrong in others. He became a product of the very people he hates but rarely sees that he has become the same.

WOW....This damn show....and icing on the cake is having our two lead CinePals reacting/reviewing! THANKS for this!!!! And Jaby, I remember being a little disappointed when Wolvie swapped his yellow costume for the brown one in X-Men 139 or 140, waaay back when. Both are comicbook accurate. The yellow costume is his first one and I was happy to see it return in the comics and in animation.

Magneto also just screwed himself 😂 he can't stop Wolverine anymore.

Sorry my guy but magneto still best him idek why the writers did that: letting magneto neutralize everyone but somehow wolverine with full metal sneaks up on him to stab him, ig for plot and yea the adamantium is out but he still not gonna beat him.

@@Kwae33I mean wolverine has always for seem reason been able to get really close to sneaking up on magneto. Now normally magneto always sense and stops him beforehand. This is just the first time he’s actually gotten close enough to land a good blow. I could also chalk it up to the fact he is off his game due to how pissed he is at Charles for finally fully betraying mutants.

The way they have put this show together is jus like how anime studios treat Mangas when they adapt the source material sooo fuckin good🔥🔥🔥they have been incorporating several storylines that end part wit wolverine I believe was from fatal attractions and what follows will blow ya mind next season if they follow through wit the storyline

Part of the reason why the animation is like this bcuz Studio mir, who animated X-men 97, is behind the animation created for Legend of Korra, DOTA the animated series, Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and so on.

Rogue's rage needs to be directed at herself as well. She broke Gambit's heart and he died saying her. She is selfish.

Chris Potter used to be Gambit in the 90s. He does a really good Josh Brolin voice for Cable.

Well how is the main course. The appetizer episode 5 was tasty but this is sticking to our bones.

Not a comic book reader so I don’t know if it’s been done before but I think it would be cool if Storm’s powers evolved to something like “Catastrophy” or “Armageddon” which means she could use her power to create the signs of a the end of the world. Not just controlling wind, clouds, tornadoes and lightning but also Tsunamis, Earthquakes etc. Basically her power akin to the end of the world

If Magneto’s great flaws are wrath and rage, Xavier’s are hubris and pride. He feels his way is always the right way without giving room for dissent even if it needs to be against your will. X-men comic book readers know Charles Xavier is a jerk.

The X-Men have always had the best stories in Marvel comics! Period! It's so satisfying to see this show do the team and the issues they deal with justice!

The Blue and Yellow suit is also comic accurate. It came in during the Jim Lee era, after the Brown suit.

In the 90s cartoon, Magneto did actually control the adamantium in Wolverine. It was a kids cartoon though so it wasn't massively violent. It affected Wolverine psychologically afterwards.

the way they did jubilee and sunspot is so interesting because through this episode and the last two it's clear how grown up jubilee is. in contrast to the theme of ep4, where roberto says to her she needs to grow up, it's HIM who is still a child while she is an experienced x-man who knows what's at stake and how serious this is. Roberto did not realise the gravity of his decision to join Erik, it hit him when he hurt jubilee, he started apologising, he did not mean it _this_ seriously. but for jubilee this is a fight she needs to fight like an x-man, because it IS serious.

Greatest marvel show ever

Looking at this episode and the previous ones and reading the comic books. I'm going to say this magneto is wrong so is charles. They're both wrong in different ways. Magneto is wrong because there can be coexistence. You have to find the ones who actually want coexistence. And help them be the leaders for that. Coexistence starts on both sides meeting in the middle. Both of them saying that we are human. No matter if you're mutant or human. The problem with magneto philosophy at the end of the day. It's the same philosophy we see in black panther. Magneto wants to become has become a like the nazis he feared in the concentration camps a new colonizer leader. No matter what he says about mutant hate. His terrorism him thinking that he is a god at some points. Put them in the same mindset as a colonizer would. That's the problem with magneto. It's still trying to find a mutual beneficial way like charles. He goes the way of everybody in human history. Who believed their people are victimized. The victimized the colonizers and the real victims. The ones who are not on any one side the middle truly suffers. Charles problem is that he preaches coexistence but he is a huge hypocrite in that method. Where there are points where the mutants must fight back. He talks a big game but a lot of times that big game is being manipulated by him in the background. His problem is he's talking so much and doing so much. That the actions he take or either on par with magnetos. Or sometimes even worse than magneto. Due to him being a huge hypocrite charles Xavier is a hypocrite. Because he's willing to do anything for coexistence. Even if it is going across a line to get it done. He puts humans above mutants more often. Because he considers the coexistence between them. A lot more than the mutants at times. Because if he's truly about coexistence. Then one sides needs should not outdo the others or matter more. Coexistence for mutants and humans means both sides coming to the table. Sitting there coming up with a equal fair existence and share of the world. Where everybody lives in codependency and peace with one another. What if we look at what charles utopia really is. It's coexistence yes but it's not true coexistence. That's his problem he manipulates tricks lies to his children of the atom his x-men. To get what he believes is coexistent not unified coexistence. Charles xavier's problem is that he's trying to push his dream. Not the dream of mutants onto the world. Which causes conflict when people like magneto call him out. for being a hypocrite because of what he believes coexistence is. Because Charles xavier created the x-men to enforce his ideals. Of mutant coexistence not unified coexistence upon the mutant world. Which causes conflict in the name of trying to liberate the mutant cause. They're both hypocrites who wants their ideal of mutants liberation. To be the forefront of mutant coexistence. Which causes conflict lies manipulation hypocrisy. And ultimately death upon many mutants. Both of them have good points. But if they could combine that philosophy together until one unified philosophy. Mutant kind would truly benefit from that. Which if you also look as this it's basically two narcissist. Fighting for the heart of the mutant world. Who both have points who both have love for the mutant people. But in their own way want their version of of coexistence. To be the thing that leads the mutants to a utopian future for their people not what they want. But what these two people believe mutant kind of wants. Which makes human fear them because it leads to a wrong conclusion. That all mutants want to be either a charles xavier type. Or a magneto radical revolutionary malcolm x type. Where it may just be a mutant who just wants to be able. To go to the grocery store and not be looked at as a freak. That's what I believe charles and magneto do not see truly and they're truly just fighting over. Who's vision of the future will be the one to reign supreme.

Mr. Sinister spent months messing with Morph's DNA and put a whole bunch of other DNA in him too since he's very compatible on a cellular level with his shapshifting ability. He was the perfect canvas to experiment on. Mr. Sinister isn't even a mutant. He's a human that gave himself abilities through experimentation with mutant DNA. Any manual physical powers of others can be emulated to an extent whether it strength, durability, flight (with wings), or speed, Morph can emulate. If were talking extravagant abilities like energy blasts or controlling the weather, Morph cannot emulate that.

Showing marvel the scene of logan being gutted by magneto with blood. Like in classic comics. They made me feel very burdened but respected, what they are doing. Without a doubt the best series ever.

Magneto ripped the adamantium from Wolverine in the comics. He eventually healed but nobody could successfully put it back so he just had bone claws for a while which could break and he was not nearly as effective for obvious reasons. Eventually the only one that was able to bond adamantium back to his bones was Apocalypse but in return, Wolverine had to agree to be one of his horsemen.

I was in awe with this episode so much just kept happening what a way to end the episode, part 3 is going to be insane
