He’s wearing traditional dress of China in The Singer, the Chinese audience appreciated his outfit. He was singing in Mandarin for first time. Chinese reactors have said his Mandarin was perfect. Also his first time of singing Japanese, Japanese reactors have said his Japanese was also perfect. The lyric writer of Ikanaide said he had never heard a foreigner sing Japanese so beautifully.

The Japanese version is actually the original version. It was first sung by Japanese artist Tamaki Kōji in 1989 and I’m sooo happy we can finally listen to it in the insanely beautiful voice of Dimash!

Hi, how cool, 3 versions of this amazing song, and performance that makes me cry every time. Dimash forgot to use his mic, it wasn't tested before. He just forgot. But this video you should see. the ones that say Dimash lip syncs. Dimash can sing like this, even without a microphone. And the Japanese version, sublime, absolute perfection. My favorite now. It was recorded live, as the rules at that Tokyo festival indicate, it is totally live. It is not edited. Dimash moves closer to or farther from the microphone as required by his power. There are 2 videographers recording. Merry Christmas .

I agree with you . I love them all of course but in Japanese it honors every thing about the song : the history, the lyrics, the language, the original composer and performer are all honored . The song “ came home “ and was sung as it was meant to be -telling the story as it was meant to be told . My grandfather spoke Japanese like a native Japanese speaker . He loved Japan and it’s people . When he came back home ( post WW2) he brought a great deal of Japan with him . He had hoped to live his life out there but his wife passed and he had my mom to raise . She married then he remarried and the woman would not move to Japan with him . He missed Japan and I think of him when I hear this song. I think he found his soul in Japan . He’d have loved an artist such as Dimash .

Dimash has his own in built compression chamber & volume control. It's called operatic training! You'll notice how he moves around the mic - toward & backs away & moves his head to the side to send his voice either into or past the mic as well as modulating with his voice. It's rather like a very beautiful & delicate dance - almost as beautiful & nuanced as his voice.

Thank you so much for doing this. And this is just one of the things I love about Dimash: I never thought I would listen a Chinese song, or a Kazakh song, never crossed my mind. Now, I absolutely adore these songs. He has opened a whole new world through his music. Fantastic peaces of art. He has expanded my world and made it better. At 35:39 he moves further from the mice when he sings louder.

His costume represent the costume they used to wear during the World War. The Original Japanese version "Ikanaide" means "Please Don't Go" and the lyrics are totally different by Koji Tamaki. The Arnau Tour is his concert series here it's in Kiev, Ukraine so he is comfortable. 👉BTW Here is the chronology of "The Singer" of Dimash Episode 1-- SOS (French) Episode 2--Opera 2 (Russian) Episode 3-- Show must go on (English) Episode 4-- Autumn Strong (Mandarin) Episode 5-- Uptown Funk (English) Episode 6-- Adagio (English) Episode 7-- Daididau (Kazakh) Episode 8-- Daybreak (Mandarin) Episode 9-- All by myself (English) Episode 10-- Unforgettable Day (Kazakh and Mandarin -- his composed it) Episode 11 -- (he was passed to next episode which was semi-finals) Episode 12-- Confessa (Italian and Mandarin) and Diva Dance (from Fifth Elements Movie) semi-finals Episode 13-- A tribute to MJ (English 😊) Finals Episode 14-- Give me Love/Makhabet ber magan (Kazakh) Gala charity round 👍👍👍 The political differences between China and Japan are still there.

Good reaction my friend...Dimash is the best male singer of the world...The passion and dedication when interpreting a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable Lara Fabian...Lara is the best female singer and performer of the world...She is a light lyric soprano with a great octave vocal range and incredible breath control, which is one of the things that Dimash admires the most about Lara...She speaks 5 languages and sings like in 12 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see on KZread covers of her songs made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Floor Jansen, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....Thank you.

I think that because Dimash has some degree of musical theatre in all of his performances, he is dressed to suit the outside climate of the day. Also in Autumn, you have just lost the vibrancy of spring/summer, and wish it was still here. Remember his operatic training enables projecting in theatre without a microphone, but here was an open concert, I think. In Japanese, he is complemented on being able to accurately sing in the language, and it uses unusually few mouth and throat muscles, and requires quite knowledgeable adaptation, especially as someone who frequently sings in Russian with all it’s hard consonant sounds, whereas Japanese is the opposite. This song has the element of being unfinished just like the story.

The version from Singer 2017 is my favorite and it still makes me cry every time I hear it....even 4 years later. You mentioned his comfort level between that performance and his concert performance. Comfort-wise, the Singer version was the first time he sang in Chinese, plus he was competing. The concert version was after he became world-famous, after he won the Golden Melody award for this song and he was in front of fans he knew already loved him beyond belief. I think those factors contribute a lot to "comfort level". Love your reactions.

The Hat, the events this song eludes to, happened in the 40s , when men wore hats. So it is appropriate for this performance. As to her being deported, Japan invaded China during WWII, and the atrocities were many. So the public was not about to tolerate anyone of that ancestry . As for a Christmas theme, check out the Chinese New Year's productions...Look for the song "Jasmine" there are many as he has been invited to perform every non-covid year (an honor) There is even one with an anime construct. The Japanese is the original composition of this song. The Tokyo Jazz Festival had the performers LIVE stream their songs instead of canceling the festival because of the pandemic. This is from Dimash's studio. Check out his performances from the previous year.

Thanks for your reaction 🤜🤛. Chinese and Japanese are as difficult for him as it is for you. Dimash is Kazakh, he belongs to the Turkic-speaking peoples. Dimash Phenomenon - Dimash studies the song deeply. How the song was created. How the songwriter felt. He lives in a song. This is a live show. This is a festival. Phonograms are prohibited by law in Asia. There is no shutter on the microphone. Dimash phenomenon. Samal Tau was also filmed in the studio Tokyo jazz. He doesn't know the language. He learns the language to understand the song. ( Translation youtube) sorry 🥰

Totally inappropriate comment, Galina. Dimash---like virtually every other popular vocal artist since the 1960's---sometimes makes use of studio embellishment (including lipsynching) where they are called for by circumstances. I can point out numerous performances that were--to sophisticated listeners--obviously lipsynched. Dimash is such a master at doing that, however, that it is not an issue to we serious Dears and it should not be an issue to you when a reactor thinks he spots it. Frankly, I had personally not considered that it was the case with this performance but the reactor has a right to his opinion and he might even be right. Don't be so sensitive!

Not true. This was announced as a music video by the presenters at the festival, not a performance. It was very obviously recorded in advance and there is nothing wrong with that and takes away nothing from his talent. It is something very standard in the industry if you want to film an esthetic video. Last time for the same festival he did live performances, but the visuals were not so good, often blurry and out of focus, because they didn't get the chance to record them as many times as they needed to make them esthetically more pleasing. This time they did. Frankly, I don't understand this obsession with live singing where Dimash is concerned. If he ALWAYS and on ALL OCCASIONS performed live, he would have had no voice left by now. Be compassionate towards him, for God's sake. We want him to have the ability to use this voice for many many years to come.

@@dougfriendly7676 They really have no clue what a fragile instrument a human voice is. If you overuse it, especially the older you get, you will inevitably damage it. Also they don't understand how the industry works, it's often isn't even up to the artists, many shows use prerecords because it's cheaper, easier, and prevents potential screw ups. Also, Dimash might be unwell or not in his best shape on some occasions. He is only human, why can't they understand that? And it's not only true for the young, many old ones think the same.

Invaded by the Japanese in the 2nd WW, the Chinese suffered horribly at the hands of the Japanese and so hated them. That’s why the actress hid her true ID, to protect herself.

That’s the opera training, singing without a mic. There is an old fancam of him singing “Adagio” and his mic cuts out near the end. He’s pissed, of course. Who wouldn’t be. He walks upstage, as if he’s going to get the attention of someone, but there’s no time. So he turns around, walks downstage singing the last few notes of the song without a working mic. The music is blasting on the speakers, the crowd is wild-and the fancam picks up his voice cutting through all of that. It’s incredible.

Back then, there's a huge tension between China and Japan during WWII. I remembered when I was a kid ( in the early 80s) growing up in Singapore, there's an old school cleaner in our elementary school. He's Singaporean (Chinese ethnicity) and he refused to buy nor own anything made in Japan. The Japanese occupation of Singapore in World War II occurred between 1942 and 1945. I could imagine his strong feeling (maybe hatred) towards that country. So......with this Japanese actress, I assumed that's how the Chinese in China felt about anything Japan/Japanese back then. I just wikipediad this: The Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) was a military conflict that was primarily waged between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan. So, this explains why the Chinese fans rejected the Japanese actress.
