Rey mysterio was actually the perfect person for the showcase tbh there’s so many good rivalries and matches that was made

People on the internet are all mentally ill freaks. So glad I'm on the process of beating mental health because living with it, for me, sucks. Anyways, on topic, Rey deserved the cover because he's a legend.

I remember that match between Eddie and Rey it happened when I was a toddler or young child so nostalgic now that I'm 24 excited to play and experience this Rey thank you for your dedication to us fans anyone remember Eddie's lowrider that was so eipc

I am so excited for this! It's nice to be back after such a long time away! The series really did need a break, because it was going downhill. Despite that, I'll be honest: WWE Battlegrounds did not hit the spot for me at all. Here's hoping this entry does the series justice again.

I love the WWE 2K main series, but as for Battlegrounds, i don't know if it was just me, but the idea of that game sounded a bit goofy and a little bit dumb, hence why i didn't really think of buying it at all. I much prefer a proper pro wrestling simulator like the main one offers. :) I'm very excited for 2K22, and i hope everyone gives it a chance, and drops their bias towards loving AEW or Impact just for a second. Like, i love those wrestling promotions, too, but i can't look past someone like Rey Mysterio being the cover star, as i've loved his work ever since i was a young kid. I love this man way too much to say something as stupid as "Oh, it's WWE. I'm gonna hate it for no reason, even though my favourite wrestler of all-time is literally on the cover." Like, that just sounds dumb to me. I hope this game is truly an amazing experience and gets 2K back on their feet. :)

This is amazing and Rey really deserves to not only be the cover star but have the showcase mode bult around him He is one of the most legendary iconic figures in pro wrestling history i can't wait for the game to drop on march 11th I'm really ready for it Booyka!!

Rey is an absolute legend and it´s ridiculous how much sweat and tears he is still pouring into this business! He moves like he is still in his 20s, easily one of the best to ever do it!

I hope Rey's showcase has some of his mid-late 90's WCW matches 'filthy animals' and No Limit Soldiers era Rey as well as hopefully some of his brief ECW run in '95

I wouldn't hold your breath for his pre wwe stuff. I think there's a starrcade 98 version of him in the collectors edition but I can't see anything pre 2002 being in his showcase.

Bro ima be real right now i used to LOVE WWE and havent played a WWE game since WWE 13 im actually gonna come back now and get this its looks good and rey mysterio was when i was younger and is my favorite WWE superstar to this day cant wait to relive his greatest hits through showcase

I think Chavo, since Eddie isn't able to, should induct him into the HOF when the time comes. I don't think Chavo and the WWE are on good terms, but they could make it happen.

I'll be pre-ordering the Collectors Edition of WWE 2K22 and add to collection. Looking forward for a new wrestling game this year. Rumors have it that Virtual Basement's The Wrestling Code will also be releasing some time this year as well, a good year for wrestling games fans.

I just watched No mercy 2002 last night and rey’s tag match with Edge against Benoit & Kurt Angle was awesome and incomparable to the quality of matches nowadays

2K isn't really going back to WCW, because if they were we would have been getting some of his greatest 90s matches, but instead they're going to start off at the death of WCW when he pretty much only wrestled guys that ended up signing with WWE anyway.

Although, we could have the Eddie Guerrero with the "I'm your papi" theme too. they had a cage match on Smackdown. this was the match that Eddie won to at long last beat Rey Mysterio. Possible, but not confirmed.

This a first that I know where a WWE games came out with the same year in it’s title can’t wait to play it. Just preordered mine own hope I still have enough money to buy it.
