    The Comanches and Apaches did this method to recon and avoid detection. The US Army employed these American Indians as Cavalry Scouts using a small party or just a fire team to recon ahead of the main body of a Cavalry troop, squadron, or regiment. Stealth was the normal SOP or standard operating procedure. The 19 Delta Cavalry Scouts as part of the Armor branch of the US Army. The Infantry can do the same mission within it's own parent unit per company, battalion, or brigade. The American Indians were great hunters and stalkers, from these traits. You can find many of them in the Special Forces, Ranger Regiment, Airborne, and recon units in the US Army. Stealthy and deadly soldiers.

    my father was in the calvary in wwll he had a horse named max then they went to machinery and he became a motor sergeant and did the transmissions on the jeeps or any vehicle🙂

    my great grand father was in the 6th cav goin in to ww2 started with horse and was changed to mechanized

    @@roballen8431 US Cavalry has always pretty much been considered "Light" Cav or Dragoons, trained to fight both on horseback or foot.
