For the non-politically active Germans, I've heard the war described as: "We were estatic after the victory over France and were expecting peace and the spoils of victory. Instead, the war kept going. And going."

My German grandfather (born 1934) watched this whole video without pause & was fascinated the entire time by how much information was out there that he didn't know. Thank you for making this knowledge so accessible

Just wanted to swing in and say: I really love how you covered Canada's involvement and successes in the war effort. It's funny how many people forget that our country was not only involved, but was regarded as having some of the most terrifying troops to deal with.

I love the video, so much analysis and so in depth. The animation is simply superb! An uncle of mine, being a military historian, once visited Omaha Beach. He was so surprised that the embankments were so vertical, although he knew of it already. It's really one thing to read or see a photo of and another to see in person. Very quieting.

Awesome work Armchair Historia! Your animations keep getting better and your work is great as usual! One thing I want to say is Halder was responsible for operation Barbarossa. In 1940, Paulus and Wegner told Halder that Germany could not succeed in the Eastern front because of logistics problems. Yet, Halder decided to proceed with the invasion!

Thanks! You and the armchair team are at least in the top3 (probably #1) of all WW2 content creators. Thanks again

This isn’t “from the German perspective” this is just an analysis of the events that happened if anything it’s the allied perspective

I’m usually not a big fan of war history but I loved this documentary, very clearly explained and kept my attention the whole time. Excellent presentation!

My grandfather piloted one of those gliders. He ended up breaking his ankle, but continued fighting for two weeks before he was able to get his ankle medically tended to.

To the creator: Bare with my story. I added this video to my queue and after a couple minutes was going to move forward. I usually prefer video documentaries vs animated ones. But I started doing household chores but left it on in the background. The more it played the more intrigued I became. I am a WWII history buff and a follower of Mark Felton. Anyway I sat down and kept watching and thoroughly enjoyed your work. In particular your significant telling of the post war years. Typically most creators only cover Nuremburg but you dove deeper. I knew the basics such as 10 yrs in Russia etc but you did an excellent job and I learned some things. I liked and subscribed. I look forward to watching more of your work.
