    As my voice teacher was fond of saying, “Just because you can technically hit the note doesn’t mean anyone wants to hear you hit the note.” Vocal tone is so important on those high notes.

    Brendon was just burning me out with his notes. Trying to make every song this grand thing to showcase his high pitched vocal runs at every given chance. And he's been having trouble trying to sing these songs live lately.

    the funny thing with panic over the years becoming the Brendon Urie project is the fact when the band first started, brendon wasn’t an original member, and was brought in originally just for guitar, Ryan was singing, if I’m not mistaken, brendon singing Time To Dance is what changed everything

    The thing with DoaB, especially the song, is that he mixes the highs and lows to create interest. This was all high and ended up being the same few notes cause he refused to go any lower and couldn't go any higher

  • @Timliu92

    @Timliu92

    Жыл бұрын

    @@axolirvin971 Agreed. A good melody IMO needs to have a nice balance of high and low notes. If you are only using your higher register (that too only the extremes), the entire melody is going to sound monodynamic, as if you are just yelling your lyrics throughout.

    I relistened to Pretty Odd today and I instantly saw a consistent focus on production, harmony, and overall quality. You can admit that the earlier stuff still isn't the most amazing thing, but you can't deny that the earlier stuff had Panic! at their most consistent. So basically what I'm saying is that Panic! was better as a band.

    As a questioning-patd fan (it gets worse each release), I agree. I think Brendon’s lower registers sound smooth and refined, and there’s even some times when his belting is great and appropriate for the song. But he’s just been so hell-bent on trying to show off his vocals on every song for the past 3 albums, and it very rarely sounds good on any of the tracks

    My Chemical Romance used a Queen influence in The Black Parade, but it WORKED. Unlike Brendon Urie, the MCR guys made it their OWN. That's what makes them so great. And when they were losing inspiration, they broke up in 2013. If you can't write good music, either disband, or go on hiatus. That's what Brendon should've done. Now that MCR is back, their newest song is AMAZING! It actually sounds like something a 40-something-year-old would write. Gerard Way has really matured and grown as a lyricist.

    I like how almost no one says "new Panic! at the Disco album", everyone says "this new Brendon Urie album sucks". The band had its own sound, Brendon has always wanted to be the new shitty version of Queen, which isn't much to begin with. Now, when everyone left, - although "Death of a Bachelor" was good - Brendon can finally fulfil his dream. The result? 3/10 at best. Rest in peace, Panic! at the Disco.

    I was a HUGE p!atd fan up until DOAB (no big reason, i stopped following them when i got into other genres), I still hold a lot of love for their early discography even when I listen to it now. I think Brendon does have a ton of vocal talent but that being said, HE DOES NOT NEED TO SING IN HIGH NOTES FOR AN ENTIRE SONG! We get it, he can sing but I think his lower register works for his voice much better. I'm also of the opinion that people would have much less of an issue with his last 2 albums if he just stopped using the p!atd name, it hurts to see a band I once loved get tarnished by this wannabe Queen/theater shit. I hope the hate for this album gives him somewhat of a wake-up call, but he's probably so far up his own ass he won't care.
