Absolutely beautiful

I LOVE THAT the truck has a split windshield. Split windshield should be optional for every truck because if the left side breaks then you have to replace the whole thing with a solid one piece, but with a split windshield if the left side breaks then you only have to replace the left windshield.

My Cb wouldn't fit in the over head and I wonder if western star still offers the key ignition in the sleeper to start the truck. When they were built in Canada they did it was standard

I love it when we have drivers here who have zero experience with an automatic, so through their ignorance they denounce it as “garbage” I bet they couldn’t even afford a truck like this, never mind that they’ve never set foot in a Western Star. And yes, this is my next truck. You guys just keep driving your “junk” and I’ll enjoy mine.

I had one of the first Western Star constallations in 97 was the best dam truck I ever owned, road like a Caddilac, and the thing was a rock solid truck. that was when they were hand built. before frightliner bought them out and screwed them up. the cabinets in theses new ones look cheap, there gonna fall apart. very little storage.

You might have got a book that had the name of the person that put every bolt in also.. I know that the older ones had them. With saying that I'm going too say this is a nice looking truck. I do like that part of it. However like others I am having a hard time with the lack of overhead storage and the fact that they decided to put a mirror control in the panel over the drivers head.... Really why wouldn't you just place it on the drivers door like most cars and trucks? I want too feel this truck. I want too drive this truck. I would like too pick it over real good. I would like too knock on the dash and shut the doors this is something I hope westerstar still looks at as this is supposed too be a drivers home away from home He or she will not want that cheap feeling every time one shuts the door and everything including the windows rattle.. Westernstar is still a great name north of the states as they were built to last and take a beating on the logging roads lets just hope that they want to keep that name. If anyone in the western star corp. wants me too take a look at your truck I live in Lincoln Nebraska. Bring your video cameras.. I will be Fair. I will call it how I see it but I will want to look over more then one truck. Thanks Larry for kick starting my thoughts on how things used too Be with this company..

the wooden doors are a bad idea - I've probably only used the cupboard half a dozen times in three years but it has managed to vibrate a hinge loose out of the particle board (ya, ya, it's a special hinge, just put an accordion door or curtain in please)

Hey everyone they need his trucks on grand theft auto 5 they need a mod for that tho cause they got a Peterbilt mod and Mack mod and freight liner mod for gta 5 but they don’t got western star truck mods

Not much to say to American trucks..but this..I would cross the road to look at.. I like. Better still if it has the Volvo D16 lump in it. Sleeper space is the stuff of dreams for EU drivers.

Western stars are best any driver would ❤️ a rig because their above all other 🚛

The truck in the video has a Detroit Automated Manual Transmission, but the 5700XE is also available with an Eaton Fuller manual transmission.

How tall is this guy. There is no room for the driver.

Looks pretty, but no ready storage space. Like when your driving there is no space to put your sunglasses or Bluetooth, pens.. things like that. Same thing in the sleeper, absolutely 0 space to keep things you want easy access to.

This seem like the only good truck that western star has

No USB? I think you guys are a little bit behind the times with this truck and for the price that you charge for it it's ridiculous! Actually the dash in the Freightliner looks better than the expensive Western Star.

What the heck is a sexy cab over? The only advantage is the overview. Thats it. Driving a 2 axle cabover with a short wheelbase is like riding a pony.

A lot of salty Peterbilt and KW fans here, Freightliner is better than anything Paccar can come up with, there is a reason they are out selling any other brand 3 to 1

@@no_bull Nobody right now makes the same trucks they used to but I’d comfortably say that Freighliner is currently the best option.

All you have to do is remove bolts to get to the fuse panel. But if I buy anything else, all I have to do is pop a panel off or open a fuse box door. No overhead storage. I don't know man. I have heard people swear by Western Star, but this video isn't convincing.

It is it uses a lever mounted to the steering column instead of a stick and clutch pedal.

inside is so rude they put screw dashboard :) this is so ugly

Agreed, compared to a T880/567 these interiors feel ancient. You spend all day behind the wheel, the interior should rival a luxury suv.

Actually is some sort of auto manual hybrid. You can select your gear using the llever mounted to the steering column. Like on race cars. Or you can selected all sorts of cool driving modes for economy, or parking and backing up.

Liten up, you can spec it with the usual 13 or18 and even a second stick for your 2 speed rear end. Hell, get a glider, match it to some big yellow iron and you'll be balls out classic.

These trucks have been nothing but stupid problems. Every single one of our fleet drivers HATE them! They break down constantly! Don’t waste your money or your driver’s aggravation , JUST DON’T BUY THEM! Spend your money on Kenworths, they were a problem free dream in comparison! JUNK!

this is Freightliner not Western Star I will buy the old western star before this junk

I like a truck that looks like a western star NOT a bloody Freightliner like this thing does I for one would not buy it.

NO storage in drivers reach. None. Period. A dashboard from the 70th and if I got to adjust my mirrors (which I do a hundred times a day) i gotta have my arm in front of my face. The rosewood imitation is so sensitive that your fingernail will scratch it. What a shame for Western Star.

Michael Werner we have storage above both seats in our 2018 model . We also have all controls on the actual steering wheel . That is the very basic model.

Looks like any other freight truck. Why do you still put the shitty looking button,fake leather coverings in? That is so cheap looking. Guess thats why all trucks have that 80s look.
