Science teacher here! pH stands for potential hydrogen. It has to do with the availability of hydrogen ions when dissolved in water. It's important in skincare because we know the pH of our skin is around 5, that is the level our bodies work to maintain (this is called homeostasis). Things that disrupt that pH value can help exfoliate skin cells by breaking down the keratin that holds the top layer together. Generally anything too high or too low on the pH scale is harmful to our skin and it's ability to maintain . Hopefully that is sorta helpful or interesting!

thanks for explaining it so I didn't have to :D Dove (a skincare company here in the UK, not the chocolate lol) brought out a pH neutral soap many years ago which was supposed to be 'gentle and kind to skin' and they had an advert with litmus paper on regular soaps showing them to be acidic as if that was a bad thing, but what it actually did was mess with the natural skin pH and brought my family out in spots! At the same time Johnsons had a pH 5.5 bodywash out so I don't know why dove thought a pH neutral item would be a selling point to anyone except people who didn't really understand it?

Not going to lie I read that as Re-sees as it rhymes with peacies,lol. I realize I only pronounce it that way when we are talking about the pieces.

On "An-ti-dotes" - feel better. I saw a brand that displayed their name as: UP BE AT And I read it as "Up be at? What?" It took an embarrassingly long time for my brain to realise it said upbeat.

Both blush shades look beautiful on you, but then what doesn’t when you’re gorgeous even without makeup!!!

Omgoodness!!! My mom and dad and grandparents all told me that babies came from swallowing a watermelon seed, and I was terrified of watermelon seeds as a child 🤣🤣🤣 I’m from East Tennessee, so maybe it’s a southern thing 😁

I have strong yellow undertones in my skin and I've found that peachy/orangey look so much better on me than pinky/mauvey ones! I'm not sure why though...

I don't know how anybody else feel about it but I think it would be cool to see you organise your makeup
