Written Off Salvage BMW S 1000 RR Superbike Rebuilt | Write-Off Rebuilds Part 3

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Close to the end, only a few jobs left before Chris gets to do skids and wheelies on the salvage BMW S1000 RR. We want to show how viable these crash-damaged motorcycles are, well worth a go.

    Just fitted R&G crash protection to my 2022 BMW S1000RR M Sport for the price of them well worth it. Watching you do the crash test using the MT10 pushed me into buying the kit for mine . Ride safe me old mucker 😎👍

    17:06 You should precharge these batteries, and you can do it right after the acid container is empty. Just lay the top cap gently over the holes so when it sizzling and bubbling it can still air out while not spitting out acid. Once that battery is precharged, you push down the top cap to seal the battery, and you're done. This was how we did it all the time when I worked at a motorcycle dealer, and I've done a lot of these. We also always precharged the gel batteries that come pre-filled and sealed up.

    I would be interested in an oil test video. As long as includes, how to sign up for it, how long it takes and how much it costs.

    Two elements of oil that need renewing- the anti wear additives and detritus particles. If you renew the first and clean out the second, as long as the oil was never burnt due to over heating, it can be re-used again if done professionally. They've been renewing spent oil for at least 40 years.

    I bought a old zzr1100 and spent the end of the winter getting ready for mot, the other day I got it ready and took it for mot, when I went back to get it they failed it for the vin being obviously tampered with, to me it looked OK but it turns out its stamped the wrong way up. Does anyone know if apart from reframing it is there anything else I can do. Love the show by the way its a show for the lads by a good lad.

    [3:33] Not sure about BritainLand but here in DutchLand you can't buy battery acid anymore. That is unless you have some type of valid car/bike service shop license.

  • @TriAngles3D
    @TriAngles3DАй бұрын

    After filling the battery with acid let it sit or otherwise air for an hour until the bubbling stops. Then seal and fully charge the battery before using. At least that is what I do.

    Would welcome any advice guys. My son crashed his RC125 a few weeks ago and to repair was going to be 6k according to dealer. We bought another for 3.2k (makes no sense) but need to know what to do with the crashed one. he came off and the tank kit a rock. Everything lower than the tank is fine (except fairings). Engine runs with no leaks, its only done 1k miles. Should we sell a a job lot or get a new tank so it can run and try to sell after fixing ? We are a bit stumped. Thank you for any advice.

    Thing is, is that motul half recycled considerably cheaper than the usual 5100/7100? I'm fine with it as long as it priced accordingly. If the price is the same and the main reason for using it is being eco-friendly, then it's not for me.

    A slight OCD/ADHD moment @ 17:48. Personally, I like to 'tick off' jobs done rather than erase them... I can still see what I have already accomplished, rather than just see the future problems... OMG, I've turned into one of those people that leave advice in the comments because I genuinely believe that I know better! 😂
