I honestly think they sell everything they know on the DVDs. What you see on Gordon's DVDs is precisely what he does in his matches. The percentage of people who are willing to put in the thousands of hours to perfect these techniques, while maintaining the the strength and conditioning of a world class athlete is so low that I really don't think they are too worried about "secrets" getting out at this point.

Watching any kind of instructional by Danaher feels so enlightening. There are so many techniques or even fractions of techniques, that when explained by him, bring Jiu Jitsu to such a conscious level. It’s incredible to think what answering the simple question of WHY we execute a technique the way we do, instead of just memorizing the movement, can do for your game. Thank you sir for your videos. Big fan

Triangle was my best submission by far, and this is almost exactly how I used to do it (except I didn't always finish that way with the leg hook at the end). Always with single collar tie. I found that with really strong guys, if you base out on the elbow that's controlling the wrist, you can use your core strength and weight to collapse their arm through the movement of basing on the elbow and going to your back. It's been a long time since I've trained and can't remember exactly how to do it, but I remember very strong guys being astonished that i was able to seemingly control their arm that way.

If you want a more effective triangle set up than this, research Ryan Hall's hip bump triangle. I get it on guys that are twice my skill level. It's extremely effective. This one is not as effective because they can just circle their head to undo your collar tie.

I've been training for over a decade and I've never seeim this approach to a triangle like this. Usually your shooting legs towards your target. In this case, the target is secure creating efficiency and expelling energy at the upmost opportunity. I'm 6'4" and can see this working on even the bigger opponents. Trying this tomorrow.

Also, 10th planet bjj is not trash, they’re legit just like any other bjj, just different principles. My professor has instilled in us that there’s no wrong way to do jiujitsu cuz one that doesn’t work for me might work wonders for you. BJJ is sport secondary only. The primary purpose of BJJ is to make you better as a person and to help you defend yourself if ever comes a time you need to defend yourself.

He is moving to a tight triangle so quickly that you will be out before your stacking attempt would yield anything. It's not your typical get the arm across, struggle to adjust your legs triangle that I typically botch. He seems to be putting himself in a vulnerable position but because he pulls on the head to bring the neck deep into the crook of the knee and is at an angle where the legs can scissor very powerfully, it's game over.

I agree with you. I'm also a good triangle guy, and I feel like if I were to lift my hips up and turn like a pendulum sweep motion, I think that would illicit my opponent to continue the momentum and try to stack me. There are ways to create the angle without the threat of the stack pass, but you can't lock it up immediately but I'm willing to sacrifice that for the safety aspect. I set the triangle up and then I just lock with my ankles, then I grab the leg and create the angle as I lock it in. As soon as you put a foot on the hip, that screams to your opponent "stack this motherfucker!"
