While you can order this chute blocker on numerous different websites... I prefer to go straight to the manufacture to be 100% certain that I get the EXACT one specified for MY mower. **Some mowers have angled discharge chutes (like the the Ferris Z3X) and come pre-molded to your specific deck.
I submitted an email online at and Dale with GTM Manufacturing (the creator of the Qwikchute) called me same day and got be set up with two brand new blockers and shipped them same day. Two days later I was making the install!

No my best work but I wanted to get it out there for those who were serious about needing a good review.

In the recording of it the sound was crystal clear (despite the three or four camera fails I had...it was a windy day lol) but after the upload it sounded off. I’m wondering if it’s the playback on my speakers or if it’s the audio in general. Thanks so much for the response!

No in all I’d say it’s still a good buy. The bagger system worked well but definitely has its limitations. I found it worked best to mulch first and then bag because of how fast it fills up. I would have like to seen a clam shell type option vs the bags but each have their own pros and cons. As far as the mower though it’s been very reliable.

Good information . I have to ask, with a 72 inch deck. Just what type of properties are you cutting. In the Orlando area. Most will handle up to a 52 inch deck. Are you cutting highway Rite always. Saw this mower yesterday at the local dealer.

We mow commercial and governmental properties that are wide open and sometimes miles long so the less amount of passes the better!! Even use them for our residential routes (although we don’t have many small yards). I can stripe just as pretty with a 72” as I can with a 52” and neither mower will fit through at 36” walkthrough gate so I might as well maximize my efficiency!!! Twenty extra inches (from a 52” deck) is almost a 28% increase in efficiency… translate that into hours and that means if all things are equal and I only change deck size I’m cutting the same amount of grass in less time. A typical 8 hour day cutting grass with a 52” deck could be done in 5 hours and 45 mins (8hrs - 28%) with a 72” deck. I started buying bigger mowers as help got harder and harder to find and I’ve never looked back!

Did I hear you say your z3x is a 72 in comparison to this wright. If so how do it do on the hills. I came across the drive belt video. I have a 61” and I keep thinking how the 72” would do since it would have the extra front end weight. I have a cub 972sd for my big and steel areas but that stand on is nibble I really like it.

  • @DaisyDukesLandscaping

The z3x and the zXt are both 72” but I also have a 61” wright mmz. The mid mount z was the best sit down mower for hills… I’d have to say the z3x is better than the zXt though… and now that the tires are wearing down the zXt is breaking traction and washing out on hills pretty regular now. It still goes straight down or at an angle pretty good, but trying to cut parallel with steep hills isn’t as good as the other mowers.

  • @DaisyDukesLandscaping

Complete transparency, I’ve never ran any new sit down Ferris mowers to really compare apples to apples, but I know one of the chief complaints about the older models is as the shocks and suspension in general wears out it effects the cut quality...again I can’t speak on that first hand. My thoughts are with the zXt there are less moving parts to wear out/replace if something did go bad vs. 4 independent suspension points on many of the Ferris models. Also I have a Ferris z3x so I’m not impartial towards just wright.

Honestly it comes down to turf quality. When cutting maintained turf at 4”-4.25” you can tell a difference between which mower I use. In fact you can’t really tell a difference in any type of grass if all things are equal... I do think the zXt does a little better in thick and wet grass than the z3x with a 37hp vanguard.

I need to do an updated video… the zXt is my least favorite mower now. - I’ve got a pesky hydro leak that developed around 300 hours and every hose and even the hydro pump was replaced… still leaks. Not a lot but enough that it leaves a wet spot when trailered overnight. - I’ve been through 2 high pressure fuel pumps and 1 low pressure fuel pump - I have to add a quart of oil every 40 to 50 hours. I understand that it’s normal for engines in high ambient temperatures to burn off a little oil when they get hot but not this much. On my other Briggs with the external oil cooler I typically add a quart of oil every 400 hours so there’s something wrong but they can’t explain why and Briggs’ said it’s “within tolerance”. - Most recently they did find an engine oil leak but I don’t think it’s the one I was previously talking about. - also the rollbar sheared in half from just resting in the down position and going over bumps. I’ve posted about it on Facebook and people think I must’ve hit something to cause the damage but I can assure you I did not and it was replaced under warranty and it is something they are aware of. - Then there were other miscellaneous things that I can’t remember off the top of my head that have been frustrating. Overall I’m disappointed in this mower. And I hate to say that because I like Wright overall. In my opinion, the MMZ was the best sitdown mower ever made personally I prefer to stand. And most of my issues have come from the Briggs side of things not so much the mower itself. I’ve got another brand mower that I run Briggs and have had some issues, but not quite as many. To me, I think the EFI motors just caused more problems than old-school carbureted. They don’t start real well when it’s hot, they have fuel pump issues Comma and they have electrical diagnostics that are hard to read at best. The only benefit is they are supposed to be better in coldstart situations which I don’t always agree with , and they do use about less fuel which saves money in the long run. If I could go back I’d never buy an EFI engine.

I would add that you shouldn’t pressure wash your mower with a high psi pressure washer that’s pumping out 2500 or 3000 psi. However, you can use a less powerful electric pressure washer like those used by car detailers. A car detailer’s electric pressure washer runs anywhere from 900 to 1200 psi and still puts out like 2 gallons per minute. I’ve been using an electric pressure washer for the last 4 years to clean off my commercial zero turn without any issues.
