Alright Ed, Just bought the ZXL from Brian at McGavic today. Running it through the paces...so far im impressed. Having come from a fleet of Scag mowers, I must say the hydros are so precise...Scag controls are sloppy but the Wright are instant, so much that my lines looked like sh*t today. Gonna take getting used to again...but a good thing.

Thank you so much for all your detailed videos! You’ve truly educated me- I’ve got 4-5 acres to mow weekly, and though I’m a homeowner, I want my equipment to last. Making the switch from using my tractor and finish mower to a ZT, and I believe this is the mower for me. Thanks for making my research easy- I’ll be getting with a dealer soon! And that discount is right on time!! Yay!!

ED got an additional tip for you. I just bought this mower. (had to make a 2 hour round trip) In the owners manual add a page that tells us when fluids need to be changed and types of fluids needed and filters needed. I understand its in there somewhere but my old eyes can barely read the fine print. A second one would be a metal tag rivet it on with the model/serial # and also the engines info. Love the mower thus far just going to have to drive back to get oil and filter so i can change the oil to do the break in oil change. Yes I know I should have bought that stuff when I was buying it,

I just bought a different brand ZT but after watching these videos I think my next purchase will be a Wright. This is the only company I've found that does these videos and shows the customer how tough the mower is. Great work recording everything so we can see it.

Getting mine this week yet! 52 " with the vanguard, will be ordering a mulch kit. I'm not a professional and have 4 hard acres that destroyed my husqvarna iz48 in 10 years . I intend this to be my last mower! The fact that you've been doing this so long and still stay so involved with your products is inspiring! I called and talked with cris in your warranty department concerning me going with the 5 year option and how you would take care of the big things for 5 years really set me at ease. Also, I found this mower the easiest to get on and off with my bad knees! Keep up the great work Ed!

I demoed the ZXL and ZK today both with the Vanguard. The ZXL was extremely nimble and responsive. The ZXL was extremely quick with very little input into the controls... it was great. I'm coming from a 2019 Gravely Pro Turn 260 that required extensive input into the control arms, which was terribly fatiguing. This was not the case with the ZXL. I also liked the control arms where they spring into place, that was a nice feature. Lastly, the cut quality was excellent and turned on a dime with no damage to the turf. I was very pleased with my experience with the ZXL.

@@EdStaniszewski It was excellent. I highly recommend the ZXL. It was responsive and very nimble in and around turns (trees and other obstacles). Plus it was quick when I needed it to be on the straightaways. A little thing, but I liked it a lot is how the control arms spring into position and stayed there... that was cool. Other zero turns the control arms are flimsy and don't always stay in place. As for which one, ZXL 61" 37hp.

@csmlawnandlandscape7619 I've been looking at Scags, but found this brand yesterday & have spent hours researching it. Only have 1 dealer (about 45 min away) according to internet search, with no others within 90+ miles. I'm residential, & only have about 4 acres. Been running a 25+yr old Grasshopper/Ingersal style thats branded as a M&W, 60", front deck w/crazy wheel design in rear. Old technology, but a tank of a machine for its age. Looking for a new low maintenance replacement to finish out life with. If my only dealership checks out as trustworthy & service oriented, I think this ZXL could be my 3rd & newest mower. I like Ed's style & processes. I build custom high end, & very high ground speed equipment which also involves Aero engineering, & feel we use similar logic as displayed in these engineering reasoning videos. Gotta build a better product to overcome the typical hurdles 1 has w/its quality competition. On a tangent here: We largely use teflon lined rod ends w/52100 steel balls, in either stainless bodys, for corrosion resistance, or 4130 CM for the highest radial load strengths attainable. Lastly.. Can a residential buyer get a demo on this brand? & is that done thru a Rep or a dealership? I plan to call the dealership today & see if they are even open today or not till Monday, due to Thanksgiving holiday weekend situation of Black Friday today. Thanks Ed, for the great video. I always spent my last day or 2 with ea custom built vehicle, asking myself what I could do differently (better) next time, to improve either safety, performance, or maintenance or just customer experience. Most others in my industry want to brag on the Great points upon completion. Which is fine. Im trying to be honest with myself, by being overly critical, on my own stuff, so I can not be fooled by simple praise, into thinking I am better than I really am. I'm very impressed with the low maintenance & well though out this design is. If I don't buy a Scag, I hope to make this Wright brand work. I thus far feel its quite Impressive!

I wanted to buy the zxt, but the local dealer in my area was not friendly and he stereotyped me when I asked about financing. So I went with my Scag dealer and purchased the turf tiger 2. The zxt is awesome would love to have it. When you purchase the high end mowers, you have to have a great dealer for support.

The dealership support, which I haven't yet investigated, but will very soon, may be the deciding factor on my purchase of a Wright ZXL, or Scag TT2. I've done my Scag research, & accidentally found this Wright. Not much dealership presence in my area though. Just 1 shop I've never stepped foot in. Has extreme reviews on both ends of spectrum, so I must go & decide for myself. I getting to crippled up to keep welding & machining parts on my lathe & mill to keep old & robust equipment running. I probably enjoy doing the shop work 10x more than lawn maintenance, but I am being forced into retirement by things I cannot change or control. So low maintenance is now a priority incase I die & the wife is on her own. Thks for your input!

Hi Ed, Im going to test drive the ZXL tomorrow. Im in SE Pa. and just wondering how the cut quality would be here with the thick wet fescue? What generation is the deck? Last i heard it was 1.5?

I have an old/abused Sentar (inherited from dear old Dad) that is frequently broken. I've lived with frequent repair since running a commercial machine is so good. I manage a small property that has about 5 acres of mowing a week. It is almost all steep and rough. What should I upgrade too? I don't think I would be happy with anything but another Wright.

The Vanguard option is bigger and is fuel injected. The Kawasaki option here is a very straightforward carbureted engine which has less to go wrong and easy to work on. Pros and cons...

@@Ed.Wright Agreed. I've noticed though, that the Vanguard EFI is closed loop while the Kawasaki EFI (on engines equipped) appears to be open loop. I purchased a new ZXL 37HP EFI last November, seems to be a very well made machine.
