Can you explain what the purpose of this gutwrench is for? I was thinking to advance positioning but you seem to arrive back in the same position (i'm a bjj practitioner -but i love watching your techniques!)

+madhaus75 Hi - In Freestyle and Greco Roman rules a gutwrench is 2 points for back exposure. In folkstyle wrestling you must hold your opponent on his back beyond 45% to receive a count for back points. In freestyle and greco rules once the 90% plane is broken 2 points are awarded. There are additional points now if you hold longer but if you are in control of your opponent and you roll him across it's 2 points.

Hey Cary My 9 year old son is starting to embrace offense oriented wrestling but he is nervous about taking shots because when he (often) takes a bad shot he gets stuck. Can you do a video or suggest a video that deals with recovering from a bad shot?

is there any way u could use this in almost a bar but combo and hold him there for back points in freestyle I'm pretty good in neutral but I need to work on turns

+One More This move is bating him to get a quick 2. If you want to turn and hold you will need a trapped arm gut or a bar and a gut combination. With this move you are not in a good position to change off so you risk losing the arm better to take the 2 if he reaches for your head. Here is a playlist of my freestyle turns on KZread hope it helps. Please share with your training partners and coaches. This will help to make you better too. kzread.info/head/PLP-FIhaSeqyonCHVRxKAVBEwPQKThlKDk

Do you block off his knee with your knee while rolling?

  • @KOLATCOM

+Seth Tyler Yes you need to perform the rest of the move like a regular gutwrench. Drive the knee under pull him into your hips and arch through. Stay off your back don't roll across your shoulders.

Is it possible to shift this move to a turk once the opponent's leg is in the mid-air? If so, is it of high risk given that I was prepared to hit it?

+이민환 It is a freestyle move so best to roll through and get 2 points. It is not easy to hold him in a tilt position on his back with this move even though it looks possible..

+hitmarker MANIE You need to stay tight to the leg and get your elbow to the mat to get to the corner so you can scoop with your knee. If you hesitate or stay loose you will get countered. You must drill this move and practice finishing in situational wrestling to get good at it. If you are getting beat in a position you need to work harder and keep better position. There is no magic fix just hard work.

but you roll back into the original position the roll seems unnecessary with all respect. you could easily finish him off with a hammerlock. even in a pure pin scenario, keeping him down I think will be a larger priority.

I get its for points but I think wrestling is universal. so I want techniques that are effective over able to score. but for pure points nice
