For regular viewers, there’s a BRAND NEW clip at 32:33 featuring a recent interview I conducted with Smoky Mountain Wrestling backstage staff member KC O’Connor, who some will remember as the man who’s car was trashed by Jim Cornette in 1994. That interview was very interesting indeed and will be released some time early next year.

Meltzer is delusional, and people have been enabling him for years which has led to him not being able to realize he's delusional, prime example would be Rorion Gracie had freaking Meltzer judging MMA fights at some of the earlier UFC events, think about that, Dave Meltzer judging real MMA fights.

@@CarlCumby listen, JC enabled this idiot as much as anyone. I love JC btw but it's true. And he did it for the same reason most people did: because he said things about people they don't like. Flair used to feed Dave finishes to matches in exchange for Dave shitting on Dustys booking. Bret fed him so much propaganda that everyone forgot that Bret literally fucked the boys when he left. Forget Vince for a minute and think about what him not doing business did for his peers at WWF. He knew people's jobs were on the line, he knew people like JR were taking massive massive paycuts just to keep the doors open but Bret gets away with all this Scot free because of Dave and the whole MUH HULK HOGAN MUH Dave created to cover up what Bret really did. He was leaving to make 3 million dollars ffs while all the guys who put Bret over, took the sharpshooters and the pin falls well, they can all get fucked because Bret doesn't like Shawn. Grade A scumbag. And so is Dave. Did Dave ever ask Bret why he never ran to national newspapers to tell them he never really won a belt all those times? Nah nah just the time he had to tell everyone he never really lost a belt. Because its all about Bret. These types love Dave because he's a mark. Such a mark in fact that Dave has spent 30 years forgetting to mention that Bret had the same creative control over his finishes as Hogan did. One made everyone including the opening match guys millionaires and one fucked off while the boat was taking in water over petty shit. Which is which do we think. This twisting of the story is a perfect illustration of who and what Dave is.

@@incitingariot9925 yeah he knows all the stadium and arena staff that are lifers so they've fed him attendances and potential events taking place. Then he was fed finishes in the 80s by Flair in exchange for burying Dustys booking. That's where Daves credibility comes from. Then Bret took over feeding him self serving shite for the 90s. Everything Dave told us for a fact happened in WcW, killed Wcw, has been debunked and the journalist that did it never even had to try very hard to get the truth. Dave could have asked the same execs. Could have got the same financial records showing other Time Warner execs dumping their departments debt onto WCWs books. But hey Hogan wouldn't put Bret over and WCW died as a result....tune in next week for another exciting episode of Uncle Daves la la upside world.

Cornette is without a doubt the most amazing kind individuals I've ever encountered! I bought his Figure signed when they first came out and I took a picture with it which his amazing beautiful wife stacey saw it. At the time I was very poorly being fed through NJ tube coming out my nose and had been solely tube fed for over a year! The next thing I know I had a package arrive for me with about £400 worth of Jims shoot interview DVDs, some signed pictures, a hand written letter and £100 Nandos voucher to pay for mine and my wifes first meal once I could eat again finally! Thats the only time I have cried because of someones kindness! Jim's an amazing guy! I'm just a lad from Newcastle! I cant explain how much much that ment at that time! Top Bloke

The guy said Cornette has no concept or understanding of modern wrestling, yet Corny watches the current product every week and actually offers suggestions on how to make it better, suggestions that actually make sense. Now, I have gone back tonight and listened to some of his previous podcasts where he rails on politics and religion and honestly, I'm glad he's focusing more on wrestling than that. Some of those episodes are pretty cringy. But when it comes to wrestling, whether it be reminiscing over wrestling's great history or critiquing the modern product, Jim is a genius.

I think Corny is who’s passionate to a fault. You can’t argue the guy has a genuine love for pro wrestling and he doesn’t like to see anyone, as he perceives it, desecrating it. He’s a guy who poured his heart and soul into the business and he’s got a vision of how the business is meant to be treated. I think what Corny has to learn is there’s a difference between fast food and fine dining and that principal applies to wrestling. There’s good wrestling and then there’s good entertainment, both are different and there’s room enough in the world of wrestling for both.

46:13 The guy mentioned Bruiser aka K-9 who worked for SMW as the big heel and was a TV job guy in the 80’s for WWE. But after seeing the Dark Side Of The Ring episode on him and everyone said he was a loveable guy who was like a big teddy bear even though he was the leader of a chapter of a biker gang in Canada and he ended up bombing a police station. An interesting episode as usual from Dark Side Of The Ring

I haven’t ever read one of meltzer’s dirtsheets, but a lot of people don’t understand modern pro wrestling. Simply because a lot of us don’t think a lot of this modern stuff is wrestling. Badly choreographed gymnastics isn’t really fun to some like me.

I kinda agree with Meltzer, but I think it’s more of the realism angle has been taken away now and you know it’s choreographed without that little bit of “it maybe fake, but these guys are really going at it” type of thing these days.

Meltzer tends to have some of the worst perspectives on wrestling. There has been a mass exodus of viewers and fans of wrestling, because of changes for the worse. Yet he praises these changes. It's like a race to the bottom, sending wrestling into more obscurity, and Meltzer is helping the fire burn.

Pro wrestling lost 75 to 80% of the peak audience it had in America in the late '90s/early '00s. The numbers speak for themselves. It used to be mainstream entertainment for all ages, now it's a niche product for nerdy marks who obsess over behind-the-scenes drama as much - or more - as over the matches. All the casual fans have gone away. Big territories used to have house shows in two towns every day of the week. WWE makes insane amounts of money, but it's all television and stock market related. They live from one TV deal to the next. If the next round of negotiations, which will be the first without Vince McMahon manipulating the network execs until their heads spin and their ears hum, doesn't go their way, we'll be looking at a significantly different situation. The era of TV networks paying moon prices for "content" (no matter what it is, as long as they can squeeze it between ad blocks) will come to an end eventually - just like the era of 50 different streaming services fighting for subscribers is coming to an end. The current market structures are not sustainable, they will consolidate.
