Hi Ren 2.0? Based on what I hear, he wrote these songs years ago. Ren could have wrote this song, “Lost All Faith” even before “Hi Ren”!! A genius!! Anyway, I really enjoy your reactions and looking forward to 10k!!

That line "Blood on the leaves where I fell coming down" - I _think_ this is a reference to a fallen angel coz Ren called himself a fallen angel in his feature on Venbee's song (y'all need to hear that one for sure!), and I think also one of his Freckled Angel album songs. Nigella Lawson is a self-made food celebrity who started with cookbooks and ended-up having her own TV show iirc... but don't quote me on that! Mona Lisa, moan at least ... nice homonym there... Also Mohammed, I'll be Ali (and then) who's the G? Ali G the UK comedian! It's quite the double. I think the sample says "You're no one or could you be The One?" I and like the dichotomy. Those drums at the end are _naaasty_ makes me think of DJ Shadow's "Drums of Death" or is it "Building Steam with a Grain of Salt"? Dirty either way.

Congratulations on how well the channel is doing! Ren's still very much a patient. He is living alone in a foreign country to go to a medical clinic 5 days a week for what looks a minimum of 11 months. And certain key things, like his diet and his pain, don't seem to have improved. It feels like he is highly active because he stockpiled all this content to release this year.

Actually he has said that he has improved quite a bit. He may never be entirely back to normal but he is much better.

He also said that he is going to be entering a new phase of treatment. I think he said it will last 2 months or so . During this phase he anticipates that he will be feeling unwell , and will have low energy. So he has actually been very busy completing work on Money game 3 , and some other things. He is trying to prepare for this next phase. So yes he said he is feeling much better, and just feeling better about feeling better .

Probably my favourite ever Ren track. The chorus was incredible - the way it built and built. And then that Indian/Bhangra feel towards the end ! Just brilliant !

The extrovert judges, criticizes, and lectures while the introvert contemplates, questions and suffers. A companion piece to "Hi Ren" rather than another version. And that chorus is one of the most earwormy earworms ever loosed on the world. I'm with you, this is a masterpiece. ❤️❤️❤️

Great find with Ren looking left and right as in Hi Ren. You are the first reactors I see to have spotted this. There is a "Ren"/"High" somewhere in the lyrics, too. The backgrounds are also colour coded. Party-Ren has a yellow background. Psalm 121 (I lift my eyes to the hills, where will my help come from?) has a pair of eyes hovering over the hills, too. The armor?nirvana, pain/shepherd sword and shield is one half of Ren's answer on psalm 23 (the good shepherd), the second (I walk through the valley of the shadow of death/sickness I fear no evi) is nearly borrowed to the letter.

He IS still a patient! He’s been under treatment for the last forever, and he’s about to start another course of a particular antibiotic treatment that will make him very ill for the next at least 6 months. That’s why he’s trying to finish out these projects he’s been releasing…because he’s about to be unable to work for the next while. Heard him discussing it on his live Twitch after his “Lost All Faith” release this last Thursday.

I felt the same. This song makes me want to listen to the whole album for the experience-for the journey. It’s like going to the theater and being left silent in the end-left to contemplate. Sons and Daughters was an Australian TV series What happened at the end of Sons and Daughters? The young woman is heavily pregnant. Fiona takes them in, just as she had with David and Patricia all those years ago. The woman gives birth to twins, a boy and a girl and the story seems to have finally come full circle. The final episode ends with a montage of many cast members, both past and present. Copied this bit from Google Jenny and Screech... is my thoughts 🤔

a couple things to remember about doctors is that they 'practice' medicine and they have boat payments to make. at 71 yrs old, i could be bitter af about mis diag of mental/physical probs. but God. also, i believe this album was written a couple years ago during severe illness. like he's enduring now in canada during harsh treatment he postponed to get sick boi done. let's pray for his healing. love, kathleen bts renegade

Maybe it's Ren," I think he's sort of resigned to the fact that he's always going to be stuck in the cycle of pain, pills and self-destructive thoughts. Like he said in Illest of Our Time, "If everything is set in stone, then this is how it's meant to be." It is so hard to pick, but I think this is my new favorite.

The man is a genius. I adore him& I pray every single day for him. He is so talented& gifted& we need him on this world. He is helping so many people. Love you man ❤🙏

He is still a patient and will likely be for life. He had to stop the aggressive stem cell therapy because the side affects were to severe and it made him very ill. So this will probably be something he will do on and off for the rest of his life.

It's almost like you can see that the album might be an unfolding story. This song ties together a few of his others I think. What I love about Ren songs is he is such a deep thinker that it has everyone going over every lyric looking for the easter eggs. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong, but invested.... it's not a fluffy song you hear and walk away from.

This song ,like Masochist was written 2 years ago when Ren was was desperate for help, since then Hi Ren has taken off and he has a new treatment and even though things are still tuff with his health he is in a better place . I don't agree with you on the last voice ,I think both voices represent the public, the 1st those who love him but can't understand how far his life is from a normal existance ,Im sure he gets offered a lots of beer he cant drink . The other voice "the geyser on the street " thinks, he should just ,shake himself out of it and that he is a depressing person to be around . The rest is all Ren being patient, with us and his health and life in general . The one thing you are so very right about is that it is a masterpiece. Ren believes Money Game is better and I don't know how I will cope , I was dumbfounded on my first listen to this one as well, so we all better take a deep breath and prepare ourselves . Loved your reaction , your genuine love of this music reflects my own, and I'm glad to shair him with you ,I can't wait to see you for the next installment .

I’ve not seen many people pick up on this seeming to be a conversation with himself like Hi Ren - “pleased to meet ya mate” (as if saying Hi to himself?) … “maybe you’re right, maybe it’s Ren…maybe I’m high (Hi?)…” Then there’s all the broken mirrors - looking at a distorted reflection of yourself/broken version. Then there’s the part of the video where he’s literally looking at himself left and right…over and over… Then there’s the voice singing “maybe you’re nirvana, maybe you’re the one” - remember Hi Ren and “your f’kn god complex leaks out of you”? The one being a saviour for mankind (think Matrix/Neo which he also references with “swallow Morpheus pill” in Masochist. I think there’s a common theme with the tracks for this album - Ren alternating between pain and depression, and Ren feeling like he can do anything, a “god” - a pendulum, eternally swinging from the dark into the light. Even in Sick Boi I’m realising he goes to look at himself in the mirror - who does he see? They had to cart that mirror into that room and set it up for that video, that wasn’t there by accident - it took planning and significant extra effort on a video done on a tiny budget. Hi Ren is also referenced in his “What you want” track - which also has “flow could turn an atheist into a believer”…in who though? I agree, I think this is one of if not my fav Ren tracks now - it hits hard, it’s got more layers than the rocks on the Grand Canyon, and it sounds amazing. One thing I’ve not seen anyone mention - the shield (with the my pain is my sword and my shield part) has the Welsh dragon on it - Ren understandably proud of his heritage (Wales is a great country and the Welsh dragon emblem has to be one of the best heraldry on any modern flag).

Oh - and my take on the “Sons and Daughters” and “Law and Order” ….they are both TV shows, and I can’t help thinking Ren saw them on TV schedule and just thought they combine to make a good few lines :)
