This is only being rolled out for fleet and business customers for now, but the statement hasn’t ruled out retail customers. Hopefully that will follow. Ed

That is really good news. Thanks for the update. As you say, it would be good to have this option for all Fisker cars being rolled out, starting from 5 May. If a new and better battery technology comes along in future, will Fisker be able to do battery swap with that too. I wonder. How was your visit there at Farnborough, and seeing the Ocean in person?

One word. Disappointing. Not necessarily with the car but the amateurish presentation and staff. Video to come but I’m at odds with how to put the message across. Ed

@@Back_Road_Hero Exactly. I expressed my disappointment elsewhere and at Fiskerati as well (they put on some pics, I took, there). Even the venue was 👎 I much rather prefer the good old days of car exhibitions at Earl's Court and NEC. Look forward to your video on that :)

That’s great but with incredible challenge for infrastructure. Some standardisation needed for this process to be effective across different makes and models.

I'm so confused! How does this work? Is Ample replacing the battery with an already charged battery? If so, will it be the battery that comes with the car? Meaning is it a CATL battery? Sounds cool but I need help in understanding. Any help please. Thank you!

Hi. It’s being rolled out for fleets only at first. But yes they will unscrew the battery from the car and replace it with a fully charged one in a few minutes. Ed

I have insight in car manufactoring,to do this that means major construction changes for the ocean,Platform,infrastructure where are you going to swapp them etc.Its all smoke and mirrors prob to try to save the little interest there is in the car.Dead silence from Fisker,If fiskerati is not fisker themselves which makes it even more confusing,WHY!This is a dead car and it has not been produced yet.During the three years since it was announced a ton of evs have been released KIA,Hyundai,VW,BMW wich are cheaper i mean a company that still has no product cant compete with established companies.

It will swap batteries if you can find one.

Sounds like a massive chicken / egg issue for Ample to invest well ahead of income, and moving the financial risk onto them instead of Fisker does not affect the issue. The (massive) investment needed for enough swap stations and stores of batteries is still there and moving it away from Fisker by financial slight of hand doesn't magically fix the issue.

It doesn’t Joe however it nice to know that they have considered the technology. If a company wants to base their business model on it then it’s up to their investors to calculate the risk. Ed
