Bought this system last month for my bedroom and let me say this i was blowned away. This surround sound sytem is very loud. i have been buying logitech speakers for 15 years . my first set was the X540 very good system as well, then z506. I have been so impressed with the this Z906 that i bought a second set for my desktop. like KAV said. TOTAL IMMERSION!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Hi; thank you for your comment 😁 the Z906 is truly and underdog system compared to the other brands like Bose, Sonos Etc and other sound bars. It’ may not have other features which are standard on most systems such as Bluetooth and more connectivity connections. But for what you are paying for and the immersion and truly earth shattering bass you just cannot go wrong. It’s a system which needs to be seen and heard to experience not just via a KZread Video😁🔥🔥✊🏽

Excellent review, Kav The Gamer!!! You've also taught me functions that I didn't even know that I could do with the remote, which is the "Level" features - WOW!! Anyway, I have not hooked up my speaker system for more than two years now because I didn't have a workable desktop but I have a new gaming rig and am ready to plug in my speakers. Right now, I'm trying to use a TOSLINK optical audio cable with my Asrock X670E Taichi motherboard.

I use it as a combined Surround-music system and I enjoy stereo music very well thanks to the 3D-chip. It sounds like a concert-hall with a very realistic touch. Movies are also very enjoyable due to the Surround capabilities. The Logitech z906 is a real market secret..! For its price, it sounds as good as very expensive stereo/surround amplifiers.

Hi thank you for your comment 👏 you are 100% right. The system delivers some great surround sound. Even playing music through the system is seriously loud, putting the bass on max i couldn’t put the system full volume the house was beginning to shake 😅 overall value for money you just can’t go wrong. Amazon fluctuate the prices, sometimes it’s on offer sometimes it’s full price. Purchasing at half price is a real bargain. Glad to hear your enjoying the sound system as much as I am 😁👍

Is it possible to use one of the optical outputs for my TV and the other one for my PC? I see that there are 2 DTS output jacks on the back of the woofer.

Hi, I can’t say I’ve heard of that model Pioneer sound system before. The Logitech is a great sound system it won’t give that awe dropping 3D Dolby Atmos as the speakers don’t fire upwards or anything. But it would be a great all rounder for movies, games and most definitely music just be careful with the sub/bass level it will shake the room literally 😁

I've just ordered this today on eBay, brand new for £200, it was your video that really made me decide to go ahead and buy it, only thing I'm worried about where I sit on sofa the sofa is flush against wall so the rear speakers I put up there are gonna be too close to my ears, hope it works out

Hi I’m glad my video helped you make the choice to go for the Logitech Sound System👏 and for the price you paid on eBay that’s brilliant it’s currently not on sale on Amazon so full price in the region of £300 or so. So what I did was I purchased some standard speaker stands and attached the rear speakers to those they work pretty good. You may need a different screw as the one provided doesn’t fit all the way in. @@kavthegamer thanks for the advice bro, actually after watching your video where you stated that you can adjust the volume etc of each speaker I felt better, what I'll do is the one closest to my ear I'll turn it down a bit Bro absolutely,I found one on Amazon brand new for £247 so the eBay deal I got was sweet, it's so funny I went from tryna buy a used one with in av budget of £140 to just getting a straight new one, only thing like yourself I'm probably gonna have to do is turn the bass down on the sub, the house I live in is a semi detached so don't want neighbors tearing there hair out 11 at night, especially since there the type who would never complain and suffer in silence😂😂😂😂😂

Hi, so on the remote of the system you can adjust the bass volume level so you can easily lower the subwoofer if you don’t want it too loud and more clarity then thumping bass. Secondly I haven’t had any issues with the system getting hot or overheating. I don’t normally run the system too loud to notice anything but nearly a year on after extensive use. No issues or faults found🙏👌

I've seen in another KZread video, in the comments, that if you click on effect on the remote until the lights go off, you get true 5.1, and that 3d mode is just a simulated one. Can you confirm that?

Hi thank you for your comment. 100% yes I use it to watch all Netflix & Amazon Movies when set up correctly with the two rear speakers behind you and the center speakers. You can hear full surround sound. It outputs 5.1 Surround Sound. It would be perfect for you TV especially watching movies/TV shows in 4K with your TV. For the money you can't go wrong with this system 👌

Hiya mate , I’m planning to buy this surround sound system next week. I also have Philips hue but with the syncbox and gradient light strip. I am wondering if you think I plugged the optical cable straight into my tv everything would work okay . My fire stick is plugged into the sync box and then the HDMI out is going Into the tv . I think it’ll be fine because the surround sound has nothing to do with the sync box . Thanks Lewis 👍🏻

Hi mate, thank you for subscribing to the channel much appreciated :) So at the moment my setup I have the optical audio cable plugged directly into the back of the TV. I have a Philips Hue TV. The Hue lights work perfectly and any sound being outputted through the TV/TV Speakers would come through the sound system. So yes everything would work perfectly. Select the Input on the sound system controller unit that has an Optical Audio connection plugged in. The system is amazing for the price and you wont be disappointed. Nice to hear you have a Philips Hue Sync Box. Will be awesome with your new sound system :D

Hiya mate , much appreciated. I checked my tv earlier on and it has an optical port. Just going to plug it straight back into the tv . Good video, however I used a set up where I had hdmi turn to an optic (toslink) connector and connected it to my Z906. When done correctly, you'll see a mode where the DECODE button lights up. When this happens you'll not be able to go to 2.1 or 4.1 (sadly), however you'll be running in true 5.1 mode. Try it that way and prepare to be blown away again!

Hello, the only cable you need to connect the system to your TV is an Optical Audio Cable. The system does not have built in Bluetooth you can buy a separate adapter for this feature. Hi the cables both front and rear speakers are around 15ft. I have plenty cable left over from my setup. If you were to find it short you can easily use standard speaker cable you can purchase from any hardware electrical store or online.

is it true that the device becomes completely useless once the center console goes kaput?And it seems logitech doesn't offer only the console for purchase,nor does it offer any repair facilities for it.

Hi, wow that I was not aware but I would say the center console once it goes it would make the system pretty much non working. The center console has a built in amplifier as well as housing the sub. This is the first I have heard of the issue with Logitech not replacing the centre console. I'm sure if the system is still under warranty they would replace the center but if its out of warranty may not. I cant see any issues with fixing the center console should need repairs as its pretty basic nothing high end requiring specific components such as on a Bose, Sonos sound system.

Hi Bro, so I use this Optical Cable. The sound system doesnt have any HDMI output, if your TV has Optical Audio connection you can use an Optical Audio cable and it will play any sound on the TV through the sound system. @@rejinvgm8598 oh right I see, yes you can try using a Optical to HDMI convertor cable it should work. You would have to change the settings in your TV menu to output sound via HDMI and it should be ok👌

Hello Sir, I have not experienced any issues with the system getting hot I have had it playing for a few hours watching movies etc not too loud and it barley feels warm. The problem with the system designed is its all built into the subwoofer so if something goes you cant replace one part :/ Other than that the system is amazing and worth it 100%

Hi, at the back of the subwoofer where all the connections are. You only have Optical Audio and Auxiliary connections. Using Optical Audio from the subwoofer direct into your TV will decode the signal and output in 5.1 depending on the source. Example Netflix movie, 5.1 surround will be enabled. You also have the option to change from 5.1 to 2.1 etc. But to answer your initial question it will decode via optical audio.

@@monkey_d_luffyyy2093 Hi, so I have the optical audio connected to the TV so if your TV can play movies/music from a USB then yes it would work. As all sounds outputted from the TV will come from the speakers. The TV im using is a Philips Hue TV. Philips 43PUS6754/12 43-Inch 4K UHD

No unfortunately it can’t be upgraded to Dobly Atmos. The system is a few years old so it doesn’t have the new latest surround sound technologies.

Hi Kav, Lovely Video. I have Logitech Z906 replaced 16 guage speaker wires. I am getting my AE-9 for me from NEWEGG- NY,USA after 2004-AUDIGY 2 ZS Platinum three year wait from Australia. Building my machine in the first week of Jan 2022 New Year in MSI Z590 UNIFY motherboard which has single PCI-E 3.0 Slot and can I connect with 850v2 80 plus gold available cables which 6 x 2 pin to connect from SMPS to the Soundcard. Had enough with G6- External one with 2CH sound from optical which gives fake 5.1 surround- I get the dialogues including front speakers ,waiting for the pure sound via optical 5.1 with from my FLAC, Mp3 - Indian, American , British titles from 90s till now and Blu-ray Collection with Blu-ray rip dumps. During 2004 - 2007, I used CREATIVE Audigy ZS Platinum(Previous version of AE-9) connected with LOGITECH Z680( Z906 previous version speakers) connected via OPTICAL- replaced with 16 gauged wires.- USED my MP3 and DVD including Dvdrip those days were excellent but AE-9 has improvised leaps and bounds. Will these speakers will be a right pair with my CREATIVE AE-9 Soundcard via OPTCAL for FLAC, BLURAY RIPs, Blurays and KZread to get the virtual 5.1 for songs in 5.1 setting via optical and for DTS & DOLBY 5.1 output from Blurays and Bluray rips. Hi thank you for your question WOW firstly that's a lot of technical things to understand. You defiantly know your sound system and stuff. 😄 The easiest way to connect the Logitech Sound System would be through Optical Audio as on the Logitech it only has Optical Audio and AUX outputs so your limited to connectivity. Once you use Optical Audio outputs I would suggest going on the PC and changing and seeing the different output settings, I know on Windows 10 you can buy a Dolby Atmos as a trial then you need to pay for the license once on I'm sure the Logitech even though its only a 5.1 Surround Sound it would still be awesome. I've connected it to my PS5 which has 3D Audio and it works amazing. I'm sure on Dolby Atmos it would be just as good. Sorry I couldn't be much more help than this. You can use an AUX cable or Optical Audio connection, which would probably work better than using AUX cable 👍🏽

I'm confused... Why does it say... 3D - 4.1 - 2.1 and no 5.1. It does 5.1 audio doesn't it?

Hi, so when you select the different stereo modes 4.1 or 2.1 it will light up on the dashboard showing which speakers are currently on and sound coming out of. You can have just the two front speakers on and the sub which would give you 2.1 audio. When it says 3D audio on the console once enabled all 5 speakers light up showing sound is coming out. Logitech decided to call it 3D audio and not list it as 5.1. Unfortunately this system is not capable of 7.1 Surround sound either.

Hi, thank you for your comment. I’m not sure tbh I don’t know if they even plan on releasing an updated version. At the moment this system seems to be a good seller. I know you can purchase a Bluetooth adapter but they should release an upgraded version with Bluetooth and other features. Unfortunately I don’t think they will anytime soon 🙈😫

@@Sorinescu123 100% I agree, but it’s one of the reasons why they price it for the price. More expensive sound systems such as Bose & Sonos have those. I would love for Logitech to have an upgraded version of this system. Have you got the sound system or using similar?

@@Sorinescu123 old school is always best and will last for ages. Tbh this system won’t give you the most updated new features etc but it will give you a great surround sound experience. I would say look into either a sound bar or a Hi-Fi home cinema separate system where you can choose the AV receiver and speakers etc. Plenty room for upgrade ability and future proof ✌️😁

Good sound.But if you push the sound to loud.The system overheat after 10 min.Not good if you want play the music very loud.If you are in apartment that ok.

I never really play the system loud as the bass shakes the room too much. I didn't know about the system overheating issues when playing at nearly full volume. Thankfully I never play it too too loud.

My apologies I thought I covered the rear of the sub. The back only has optical audio output connection and the speaker cable input sections. No other connections very easy to set up.

Hi, thank you for your comment. Bose would give you a much more clear listening experience in my opinion. The Bose sound bar I have tested gives surround sound from a single sound bar and a subwoofer. The Bose 700 Soundbar, equally your paying a high price tag on the Bose in comparison to the Logitech system. It all depends how much your budget is and what your after. I have both the older Z5500 (that I got way back in like 2005) and the newer Z206 i picked up a couple weeks ago.. They are actually fairly good for the price specially since the Z906 went on sale a few weeks ago for 279$ US.

I purchased mine on Amazon half price, you can't go wrong with thr pricing. Hi thank you for your comment, so I’ve used Logitech before in the past. They are best known for making computer speakers etc. I have tried and tested Bose home cinema systems which of course no doubt provides much more compatibility in terms of Bluetooth functionality and extra HDMI and radio. This system won’t give you the same functions as a Sony, Bose, Samsung sound bar etc. But for a basic easy to set up great surround sound and mega bass. The Logitech can’t be faulted. Games, Movies, Music & TV shows all sound incredible. 😁👌

@@ridetomusic765, I’ve not tested a Yamaha sound system only a Bose sound bar. You can get Bluetooth adapter sold separately for the Logitech. But the price difference between a Logitech and a Yamaha with AV receiver and speaker etc would be much higher. This system is just good value for money compared to what’s on the market at the moment. It’s cheaper then some sound-bars and much better sound.
