Bald eagles Jackie and Shadow 🦅🦅❤️ What an eventful time! As you know from the previous video, Jackie lost interest in incubating the eggs and stopped incubating them at night. She started to persuade Shadow to stop doing it using various techniques. She brought a fish to the nest and ate it in front of Shadow. Later, she brought a lot of sticks to the nest and even started to rearrange them. Shadow was not pleased with it. Shadow also brought one stick to persuade Jackie to come back to incubating the eggs. Jackie did it for a few minutes and gave up again.
Shadow's second night shift or technically the first full one, was also eventful. Flying Squirrel FIONA paid Shadow two visits. During the second visit FIONA got on Shadow's nerves and he slapped his wings and remained in this position for a few minutes letting FIONA know that she should not mess with him.
Later, Jackie called loudly and Shadow replied twice during Shadow's night shift. Jackie wanted Shadow to come to her and leave the nest but he did not want to do it.
During the day, eggs were left alone for long periods of time, so a raven came to check whether it would be a good time to eat the eggs. However, although, the raven came close to the eggs, he did not eat them. Probably, Jackie and Shadow were seen in near the nest, so the raven was afraid to do that.
Jackie rearranging the sticks on the nest was hilarious and 2 Fiona's visits were also funny, so you can laugh a bit!

I know we tend to project our feelings onto wildlife, but I do feel sad for them that their eggs never hatched. They are so dedicated and work so hard. I don’t know if they are disappointed or not. Perhaps they accept it as a part of life. I want them to be happy and enjoy their life together. It’s such an honor to have this opportunity to learn about them.❤. Thank you!

@@techshabby0001 Hatchlings? There are no hatchlings in Jackie and Shadow's nest. None of their 3 eggs hatched in 2024.

My heart just breaks for Shadow. Jackie has probably known for awhile now and has come to terms with the loss. Daddy is having to do that in his own time. 💔
I wondered IF Jackie would ever bring feesh for Shadow. Guess he's the provider and lets Jackie eat her own catch. LOVE THEM BOTH!!!

Poor shadow ,he doesn't want to give up on his eggies, I am so sad for him .😭
It’s so heartbreaking for sweet Mama Jackie and swwwt Daddy Shadow. They have been doing their best all winter long! It’s so sad to see how hard it is on the both of them. The other night it broke my heart to see Jackie finally decided to leave the eggs alone. Staying close even though she stopped incubating. And now Shadow. Bless their hearts. And poor precious little eggs. The eaglets didn’t make it. It’s sad that they one day will be left alone and eaten or absorbed into the nest. A sad fact of life. Shadow and Jackie are forever in my heart. They are a great couple and parents. 😘♥️♥️ 😖🙏🏻💔💔💔

There is nothing worst than having to face & accept the reality of loss even with our beautiful bald eagles' eggs! 😢
How many times does he get to sleep laying in the nest all night? Let him process, it probably feels good, now he knows who Fiona is! I wish these 2 luv birds a safe summer, and a new season next year.
I absolutely loved the Fiona sound effects ! Fiona is very brave to be that curious. I know she was being a bit pesky but it was great to see that wing slap and be able to get a good look at the wing.

I hate it when it's so windy. I know the nest is sturdy but I still worry about it breaking. I've watched a few other Eagle pairs and J&S are truly special. The love they show each other is amazing.

I asked that question earlier & I think the answer is that they do interact with each other even after they leave the nest. Gave me so much hope. Hope it gives you some too 💕

Maybe Jackie is just talking a break. Think about it. She did a lot of time on the eggs during the snow time.

@BirdlifeOdyssey I agree with you. Hasn't been on the nest much, but poor shadow is stepping back, but not totally. Why are they still bringing twigs of their going to leave it?
Et to re.ax when their on the nest, they sit on branches or fly thats tiring on their feet, it's better on the nes😊t
If only our souls for Christ could be this dedicated
Is the Pine Tree that they have their nest in rotted at the bottom? It looks so scrawny.

No, it's just scrawny near the top. You can see it sometimes on CAM2, if you go to the time when one of them is coming to or going away from the nest.
When did Shadow leave the nest for good?

Shadow still does not want to give up. He spends the nights incubating the eggs and comes to incubate them during the day.

Nobody knows why they did not hatch. Jackie stopped incubating the eggs. Shadow does not want to give up but the eggs are way past their hatching date.
