2025 Toyota Land Hopper - The Toyota Land Cruiser has built its reputation as a tough-as-nails, go-anywhere premium 4x4 with the looks to match. Following the debut of the new global Land Cruiser 300 and the North American Land Cruiser 250 (Prado), Toyota is now gearing up to introduce a third, more compact variant affectionately called the Land Hopper.
Traditionally, Toyota hybrids have featured naturally aspirated engines running on the Atkinson combustion cycle. But Toyota is shifting gears. The full-size 2024 Land Cruiser now boasts a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid iForce Max powertrain paired with an eight-speed transmission. It only makes sense for the smaller 2025 Land Hopper to follow suit with a downsized yet similar setup, likely featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid engine.
