+Janel Lynn Actually, if you're in Utah you're super lucky. Do you know about Best Friends Animal Society/Sanctuary? They're incredible, and they basically do what Dr. Matt and the Vet Ranch people do, on a much larger scale--except they also have the capacity to house and rehabilitate the animals. They have a MASSIVE sanctuary that houses cats, dogs, and all sorts of other animals, who would have been euthanized or who were injured and need help. They had a Nat Geo show called Dogtown that followed them, and they rehabilitated and saved the Vicktory Dogs (as they call them) which were dogs rescued from a dog fighting ring and who were originally slated, by the Supreme Court, for death but Best Friends saved them. Their goal, like Vet Ranch, is to save all the animals, and they work really hard currently in Los Angeles/CA to make it into a no-kill state in all the shelters. I really wish Best Friends was everywhere, and Vet Ranch. I'm not talking up Best Friends at the expense of Vet Ranch, by the way. I freaking LOVE Vet Ranch, but I also freaking LOVE Best Friends and I wish I lived in Utah or Texas so I was closer to either of them. But if you don't know about Best Friends you absolutely should look into them since they're in your state. They're based out of Kanab. Go to bestfriends.org for more info :)

Oh, thank you for the information. I wish Kanab was closer. I'm also a Girl Scout leader of 32 girls. There was an adoption group that used to work with PetSmart and they would let the girls come in and volunteer during an adoption clinic. They don't allow it anymore because they insist the girls have to be 18. Sad because part of their badge was to give service to something like that or similar.

+Alina R. Did you know that lots of movies have their final scene after all the credits have run? There are some producers and directors who habitually do it also. You get to know who they are. That's why when you go to the movies and eveyone gets up to leave but there are still some people seated, they are waiting to see if it is one of THOSE movies. The point I am making is that when you cut and run early you can miss something interesting, or even important. If you are not patient enough to wait, then if you can at least run the slider across and check first before you terminate the page.

You would still need to pay for your cat to get fixed up. Vet Ranch only uses donations for homeless animals.

These mama dogs are SO amazing, they are starving, homeless, wounded, and yet their puppies are as clean as possible, and often chubby, never neglected. Humans should take a lesson. Bless you amazing loving vets & rescuers!

Well, it would certainly reduce the stray population (in a good way). I'm not a vet, so I can't fathom the epidemiological effect this would have, but I guess it would most likely be a favorable outcome overall. But I would think that some people would not like to adopt another animal, prefering to buy them for various reasons (the most prominent I can think of is it being purebred {more like inbred}).

Alex Schrijnemaekers omg!! That's what I thought too! A lot of people in my country, they prefer a "branded" dogs too. Like what you have mentioned "pure bred". Just like how some people prefer to use only branded handbags over "cheapo" unbranded bags. Just an example. My mom adopted a dog from shelter and rescued 2 from the streets, vaccinate them, got them spayed and etc.

KantanRyouri I personally am a HUUUUGE fan of German Shepherds, but I will *not* buy a dog. My G.Shep was adopted and is "half/quarter mutt" and I love her very much. I'd be sure to adopt some more (even non-G.Shep looking dogs), but I'd need to find space for them first.
